For 2nd gen/2.5 gen there's MBLAQ, UKISS, Super Junior, SHINee, B2ST, SS501, Block B, B1A4, VIXX, Boyfriend. All are iconic and have songs I think you'd love, though I think SHINee, B1A4, VIXX, and Boyfriend have the highest percentage of songs you'd like. For 1st gen of course you can't forget Shinhwa! 🤓
Brave Brothers composed the majority of the songs here (except Rocking and Supa Luv)... so that's why they all have the same vibes! I love Bravr Brothers' songs as well, they have a unique sound~

Rocking and Clap (which I highly recommend checking out either on your own or if you revisit them later) remain two of my favorite kpop songs to this day.

TEENTOP!!! I'm so happy you reacted to them - Miss Right, SupaLuv and Crazy are still in my regular rotation because they're just THAT good. I 100% agree that the cheesy-ness in 2nd gen kpop is just a Vibe, which unfortunately didn't presist into the late 3rd gen (but tbh stanning suju really makes up for it a little - they recreated the whole Ahora Te Puedes Marchar music video when they were remaking that song for their latino fanbase and I really laughed because of course suju would do that). A very good 2nd gen boy group that I would recommend in ss501/ss301, especially LOVEYA and Im your man, and Pain - they're REALLY good. If you want to react to 1st gen I cannot recommed Shinhwa enough - Perfect Man, Sniper, Venus, Kiss Me Like That, Touch, This Love - they're the longest standing boy band (22 years and still going strong) and have a HUGE discography (including a song penned by pentagon's hui). Also if you want to react to some early 3rd generation kpop - BAP and B1A4 are amazing! B1A4 in particular - a year ago they released "Like a Movie", and one of their b-sides, Zero Gravity (feat. BIBI), took me completely out bc it was so good.

Teen Top is A LOT but I adore them. They were never *exactly* my scene, but in the end, their music stands the test of time just for the bright, free energy and how INDULGENT they are with trends of the time (it's extremely dated but in the best way). Their latest song from a few years back, "Run Away," is amazing as well, and you can see how comfortable they are with being Teen Top. I'm also kind of surprised you didn't react to "No More Perfume," which is a wildly addicting song and one of the biggest guilty pleasure tracks of kpop. (concept and lyrics are despicably absurd) Embrace the cheese.
Till this day I couldn't find a single song that I didn't like in TeenTop discography.Even if I don't listen to them daily they are all bops I enjoy whenever I turn them on. But you should give a shot to their mid-tempo/slower songs too. No more parfume on you, To you, Missing, Missing you (2 different songs), I'm sorry, Love is..., and theirlater songs such as Seoul Night and Ah-Ah.. Also Niel's more RnB stlye solos Love killer and esp (my all time fave ) Love affair. About choreo, Teen Top, Shinee and Infinite are considered the best dancers of second generation and are the OGs of syncronization and so called knife-like choreos/dance. TeenTop is known for footwork (Korean dance schools still teach/cover/dance to their choreos till this day), Infinite known for their artistry more modern dance style choreos and Shinee is known for their innovative and hard choreos. Yet all these groups always perform live in insanely stable vocals. Niel was once considered as Taemin's rival. But unfortunately TeenTop started to lose popularity after L.Joe left the group. However, when theyhad a special stage of their old song 'To You' for their 10th anniversary, people were so amazed by their performance that they were invited back to music shows again and again and performed for more than a month on music shows. I hope they'll have a comeback after their enlistment period ends.
Thank you SO much for this. I was there when Teentop debuted with No More Perfume on You. And TO THIS DAY, it’s one of my most listened to song EVER. They were SUCH a vibe! Honestly, it was at the time where fandoms weren’t so toxic somehow there was enough spaces for 20+ groups to be popular. UA-cam recommended was working best back then too, recommending different groups even the less popular ones because it wasn’t so much based on views. There no such things as “flops” and nobody judged a group based on their sales/UA-cam views. When I wanna remind myself of Kpop “golden years” I always include their videos💜✨

An interesting 2nd/technically 3rd (?) gen boy group would be BAP! They debuted the same time as EXO and BTS and were often compared to them in the media. They had the cheesiest debut, everybody had blonde hair lmaooo. At the time, a lot of people thought BAP would be the most successful of the 3 but their company screwed them over big time 😢 i also adore VIXX, MBLAQ, U-Kiss, Block B, and B1A4. I’d recommend FT Island or CN Blue if you’re looking for band vibes

My god,teen top, its been ages since i saw them! They are always so high tension which us why you can really appreciate their ballade more. Tell me why is still on my playlist till this day!! As for other groups, you should 100% check out b1a4. They are probably the group with the most fun title tracks. Beautiful target is still the most iconic thing ever. And some other groups you should check out: Ukiss: older gen but they got some really nice songs BAP: if they were still around, they would be the biggest thing tbh Infinite H: wonderful take on upbeat hiphop FT Island: best band out there. I love their discography Block B: is rap heavy but nillili mambo was my alarm tune for years before i switched to Beautiful night by B2st (Highlight now) ToppDogg: I only know a few songs but arario is a bop and everyone should listen to it Kim Jaejoong: my favorite solo artist Toheart: was an experimental unit and delicious is a wonderful song tbh Gdragon: another amazing solo artist. Has the strangest yet fascinating songs VIXX: they used to be called concept kings, cause they did a lot of concepts C-Clown: is a pretty good group, I'm still sad they disbanded Boyfriend: honestly their songs are exactly what their name implies Btob: wow is still going strong in my head As for girl groups, i don't got much to say tbh. They were all amazing Tho you might wanna check out secret: they got a wonderful discography stellar: their mvs are debatable but their songs are really good Girls day: i love those girls Lovelyz: my favs. Their upbeat bsides are much stronger than their titles and a lot more fun with their gaming music like tunes Anyway, those are all the groups i could think of on top of my head!!

I really really hope you check out B.A.P they debuted early 2012 that why they where said to be either the last groups of 2nd gen or first ever group of 3rd gen. They were also mark as boy groups of Kpop that start masculine and hard concept along with blockB. Warrior by bap is one of what I want to recommend to you. This is their debut song and they give everything to show how talented they are. Btw, they were also hip hop base group which is infused by the producer and the leader Bang Yongguk. So I really really hope you check them out. If you want to check them out here are some songs I recommend you to listen; warrior, stop it, rainsound, hurricane, No Mercy, skydive, one shot. I wouldn't necessarily call it the "wacky side of kpop". You have to think about the era in which all these songs were made. They kept up with trends and made it their own. In today's age I can see it as wacky but during the time I considered it peak kpop

TeenTop are the OG's of exploring new GENRES they're the OG's for sure, i first listen to Kpop with TeenTop they're GOLD till now especially 'Be my girl', and now it's TXT bringing that old ERA back of exploring different Genres instead of EDM, Hiphop & Techno

Teen Top is A LOT but I adore them. They were never *exactly* my scene, but in the end, their music stands the test of time just for the bright, free energy and how INDULGENT they are with trends of the time (it's extremely dated but in the best way). Their latest song from a few years back, "Run Away," is amazing as well, and you can see how comfortable they are with being Teen Top.
I'm also kind of surprised you didn't react to "No More Perfume," which is a wildly addicting song and one of the biggest guilty pleasure tracks of kpop. (concept and lyrics are despicably absurd)

Till this day I couldn't find a single song that I didn't like in TeenTop discography.Even if I don't listen to them daily they are all bops I enjoy whenever I turn them on. But you should give a shot to their mid-tempo/slower songs too. No more parfume on you, To you, Missing, Missing you (2 different songs), I'm sorry, Love is..., and theirlater songs such as Seoul Night and Ah-Ah.. Also Niel's more RnB stlye solos Love killer and esp (my all time fave ) Love affair.
About choreo, Teen Top, Shinee and Infinite are considered the best dancers of second generation and are the OGs of syncronization and so called knife-like choreos/dance. TeenTop is known for footwork (Korean dance schools still teach/cover/dance to their choreos till this day), Infinite known for their artistry more modern dance style choreos and Shinee is known for their innovative and hard choreos. Yet all these groups always perform live in insanely stable vocals.
Niel was once considered as Taemin's rival. But unfortunately TeenTop started to lose popularity after L.Joe left the group.
However, when theyhad a special stage of their old song 'To You' for their 10th anniversary, people were so amazed by their performance that they were invited back to music shows again and again and performed for more than a month on music shows.
I hope they'll have a comeback after their enlistment period ends.

Thank you SO much for this. I was there when Teentop debuted with No More Perfume on You. And TO THIS DAY, it’s one of my most listened to song EVER. They were SUCH a vibe! Honestly, it was at the time where fandoms weren’t so toxic somehow there was enough spaces for 20+ groups to be popular. UA-cam recommended was working best back then too, recommending different groups even the less popular ones because it wasn’t so much based on views. There no such things as “flops” and nobody judged a group based on their sales/UA-cam views. When I wanna remind myself of Kpop “golden years” I always include their videos💜✨

My personal fav song from Teen Top is Love Is. It is super good, the music, the choreo really makes me want to dance haha and their vocal skills have improved a lot. AHH TEEN TOP! Supa Luv was the very first K-pop song and mv I had ever seen when I got into K-pop in 2011 and when I say I was OBSESSED, I mean I was singing the song everyday, I learned the whole dance, it was truly a full send for me! So glad to see you reacting to them!

THE LEGEND TEEN TOP
An interesting 2nd/technically 3rd (?) gen boy group would be BAP! They debuted the same time as EXO and BTS and were often compared to them in the media. They had the cheesiest debut, everybody had blonde hair lmaooo. At the time, a lot of people thought BAP would be the most successful of the 3 but their company screwed them over big time 😢 i also adore VIXX, MBLAQ, U-Kiss, Block B, and B1A4. I’d recommend FT Island or CN Blue if you’re looking for band vibes

My god,teen top, its been ages since i saw them! They are always so high tension which us why you can really appreciate their ballade more. Tell me why is still on my playlist till this day!!
As for other groups, you should 100% check out b1a4. They are probably the group with the most fun title tracks. Beautiful target is still the most iconic thing ever.

BAP: if they were still around, they would be the biggest thing tbh
Infinite H: wonderful take on upbeat hiphop
FT Island: best band out there. I love their discography
Block B: is rap heavy but nillili mambo was my alarm tune for years before i switched to Beautiful night by B2st (Highlight now)
ToppDogg: I only know a few songs but arario is a bop and everyone should listen to it
Kim Jaejoong: my favorite solo artist
Toheart: was an experimental unit and delicious is a wonderful song tbh
Gdragon: another amazing solo artist. Has the strangest yet fascinating songs
VIXX: they used to be called concept kings, cause they did a lot of concepts
C-Clown: is a pretty good group, I'm still sad they disbanded
Boyfriend: honestly their songs are exactly what their name implies

As for the recommendation for other boy groups. I really really hope you check out B.A.P they debuted early 2012 that why they where said to be either the last groups of 2nd gen or first ever group of 3rd gen. They were also mark as boy groups of Kpop that start masculine and hard concept along with blockB. Warrior by bap is one of what I want to recommend to you. This is their debut song and they give everything to show how talented they are. Btw, they were also hip hop base group which is infused by the producer and the leader Bang Yongguk. So I really really hope you check them out. If you want to check them out here are some songs I recommend you to listen; warrior, stop it, rainsound, hurricane, No Mercy, skydive, one shot. There's a lot more even their b- side is good. 😭 Thank you 💚

I wouldn't necessarily call it the "wacky side of kpop". You have to think about the era in which all these songs were made. They kept up with trends and made it their own. In today's age I can see it as wacky but during the time I considered it peak kpop
