I still haven't read it! 🤣🤣🤣. Yeah, the extended phenotype is a more technical book. He uses more biology jargon as well. Which one do you like more? I feel like the selfish gene is still more impactful of a book and so I like it more.
@@IdeasInHat I think the Selfish Gene because the idea was so new to me and it's easier to understand. But TEP also has some very interesting ideas in it.
@@IdeasInHat it's called Transformer. Some truly mind blowing stuff about the chemistry of the first cells (potentially). It's mostly about metabolism and about how metabolism was probably around before cells.
Well nice college but just wanna correct you, behave is not about what hormones have to do with behavior, its about different layers to understand of why a human behaves the way he does right from what happened second before the behavior took place to what happened millenia before that behavior which caused the person to behave its a deep biology book and indeed very thick but I reccomend everyone to watch sopolsky's lecture on UA-cam about that book as it contains all the basic things whatever is happening in the book and its also intresting to watch and then decide if you wanna read this book because all what is there in the book is already in the lectures and in the book it goes more technical which me turn off some people.
I watched the lectures and read all the recommended reading for the course! He lectures well! I definitely think everyone should at least watch the lectures! Sapolsky's other books are also really good, like the trouble with testosterone or the zebra book. If you liked behave you will like those!
Great collection. New subscriber here. Could you please do a review of the best Biology Textbooks to use (Example, Cambell or Mader Biology)? I need your help. There is no video review in UA-cam on best textbooks to use about Biology. Please
Thanks for this video. I teach Biology and now i have books to read and recommend to my students.
Very nice collection will read them all!!! Keep it up!!!
Thanks! Enjoy the reading! Some of these books are long reads!
I'm reading the Extended Phenotype right now. I loved the Selfish Gene and I really like this one too but man, it is a very demanding book.
I still haven't read it! 🤣🤣🤣.

Great video as always.
I too collect biology books and honestly it's the best thing to read but very dense to read sometimes.
Loving the tour man
Thanks! I am excited to get to the psych and Philosophy sections on my shelf!
Nick Lane's newest book was really interesting but hard going
Which one of his did you read?

@@cindyo6298 that actually sounds good. I have his suicide book, his oxygen book, and maybe 1 more. I will look for that one, it does sound good!

Thanks!

Good idea, I can do that!
@@IdeasInHat thank you. This will help me a lot
If you would suggest one book to something who wants to learn more about neuroscience. Which one would it be?
Pricinciples of Neural Science, kendall et al. Lol. If you want something more palatable, descartes error is good. Same with the emotional brain.
@@IdeasInHat Thanks for the suggestions!
How do you afford all those books?
I have collected for 10+ years.
