A great group of immensely talented boys.
I agree with snowy 9431 that it gives very much joy to hear and see this beautiful group of WSK.
Thank you so much!! This is absolutely the most amazing operetta ever!! WSK the golden ages. ahhhhhh
Oh no!! Why not?? it is their BEST part ever I think. No other choirs in the wolrd can do these masterpieces like they doo,. I am soo sad T_T
I know!!!!!!!! I truly feel that too!! That is why I am looking for all the old videos. I really hope that someone could upload more videos of this age. They bring me so so so much joy and comfort when I look at them singing!!!!
Yes! It's rather strange to see them all grown up now. I think they should have a reunion and sing these same songs and put it up on UA-cam!
You're most welcome, and I agree...the WSK during "the golden ages." The kids in this video were truly remarkable.
Sadly, look at what the VBC has become now. The glory is gone.
In what way has the glory gone, I wonder.
I saw Josef Doeller's team (these kids) perform this operetta during their January 1982 Carnegie Hall concert. Of all the operettas I've seen the Vienna Boys Choir perform, this one is my absolute favorite. It also goes by the title "Tales From the Vienna Woods" but I think "Tales From Old Vienna" is more appropriate. Bravo, kids!!!!
One of the reasons that operettas are no longer part of the performances when the boys travel is the cost and carrying so much equipment is burdensome. I spoke to one of the conductors after a performance in NYC Carnegie Hall. This is what he told me. I miss the operettas so much. They were fun and enjoyable.

I loved your information on the boy who plays the father of Mitzi, I was also expecting more information about the other boys. Thank you.
The fine alto soloist who plays Mitzi's father (if he is the one in brown with a top-hat) is Kurt Schober, who is now a professional baritone.
Looking at the search sites the name Kurt Schober I found some information on the 'boy'. Some sites even has pictures of it and a small biography.
Now I saw the names of the boys and only have to thank him for that. If you have more information, please add, I am sure that many will give thanks. Thanks.
Gladly. Mitzi and Franz wish to marry, but Mitzi's father wants her to marry Herr von Stieglitz, who is of supposed noble birth. Xandl, the cobbler's apprentice, helps Mitzi out of this jam by exposing von Stieglitz as a swindler and just plain creep. Naturally Mitzi's father consents to Mitzi and Franz's marriage and all (except maybe von Stieglitz) live happily ever after!
Hello editor,
I love this performance. It´s a pity, that WSK
now refuse to take up again such "opera" into their program ! I have read in their guestbook, that people will not join operas with WSK (?).
What do You think about this opinion ?
Could anyone tell me what the story is about please?? I am so eager to know, But I speak neither Japanese or Austrian >__<
My be because they don´t understand nothing ! :)
