    Good job man.I was there in 71& 72. Went to Asylum almost daily with Glenn. First trip out there Glenn was living with Henley. Linda
    & JD lived on Gower behind Capital records. The next year, Glenn was living with Paul Ahern( later to become Bostons manager). I was at Don house that was on stilts, spooky. Great view

      Thank you! Especially cuz it was a bit of a wild goose chase tracking down that Henley house on stilts. I'm guessing that you're Glenn's younger brother? I'm from Detroit myself and I've loved him ever since I realized it was his voice drowning out everybody else on the chorus of Ramblin' Gamblin' Man! Would have loved to have been part of that scene but missed it by a couple years...

    Just heard the news about Randy Meisner. I always felt like he was the great unsung hero of the band. He was a great bassist, no one was more solid, but his high harmony vocals gave them a sound like nobody else. RIP Randy. You will be missed

    Incredible journey. We were at the Troubadour the night that Linda took an intermission, explaining that her band was going on their own. The lights dimmed, and then on stage the lights came on and 5 guys in the most radiant red satin bomber jackers stood with their backs to the audience. Emblazzoned on the back of the jackets in gold letters, was "Eagles". They played Witchy Woman and Take It Easy...when the finished you could hear a pin drop. As was a sound no one had ever heard of rich harmonies. Oh what a night it was

    I can't tell you how many times I used to stare at the inside cover photo of Hotel California, examining every inch, don't know what I was expecting to find, the mystery was continuous for me! First time I've ever seen the inside of the Lido. Very cool! Hard to believe the Eagles are celebrating 50 yrs. The Eagles have been my favorite band since '74. Love your video💙

    • @cindypowers4993
      @cindypowers4993 2 роки тому +5

      @@RockessentialTim Exactly! Buying an album was like purchasing a book, with music. I would read every inch of the album credits, from lyrics, to who played which instrument, to lead vocals, harmonies, who produced the album and where. Everything. Sometimes even the inside of the album itself had neat, clever sayings etched in the vinyl. One Eagles album (maybe On The Border?) said "He who hesitates is lunch" ! Anyway, albums are treasures, and some of the album cover art/photos are classics, and part of our culture, worthy of framing. Sorry for my lengthy comment.... Hotel California, with the music and front/inside cover photos, like you said, is iconic. Yes, I love records. Especially the EAGLES✌️

    You ought to consider a video about Topanga Canyon. Linda Ronstadt lived right next door to Gary Hinman who was the first victim of the Manson Family. She said she wasn't home that night or they might have come after her. Right across the street from her house was the stone house pictured on the back of her Hand Sown album. It was also featured on a Byrds album. She said that area had a bad vibe. And speaking of bad vibes she later moved to Brentwood where she was in the same hood as Nicole Brown Simpson. They would often run into each other while walking their dogs. You know the rest of the story.

      Hey, thanks for the info. I've been up there once to film Neil's home studio. It was steep! Have been trying to pin down Linda's address on Wonderland where she lived with Jerry Brown for years but can't seem to find it. If you come accross it, let me know...

      @@RockessentialTim Linda moved to her house at #38 Malibu Colony (aka 23674 Malibu Colony Rd) in 1975, after the release and success of HLAW. In 1980, she moved from Malibu Colony to the house at 241 N Rockingham (Brentwood). Those were the years she was mostly involved with Jerry Brown.
      Are you talking about this Wonderland?
      ua-cam.com/video/IXTHOMlrd4Q/v-deo.html
      Malibu was where she lived when this interview took place. Ronstadt recounts a time during the winter of 1979 when she was “keeping company” with the then-41-year-old governor when a series of winter storms threatened to wipe out her Malibu Colony home. “The newspapers had begun to speculate on whether the governor was going to spend state money to protect his girlfriend’s house,” Ronstadt writes.
      Before that, between 1970 and 1973, she moved to an apartment in Beechwood Canyon with JD Souther. I believe the apartment was the upstairs unit of the house at 2595 N Beechwood. Harry Dean Stanton lived above the garage, behind the house, at the time. JD and Linda parted ways during this period, and he moved to another place nearby (maybe the house at 2400 N Gower).
