UK guy here. That guy was rude and now is immortalized in a UA-cam video as a Snobby, Sweary, Jerkoff. We don't want him back here! send him to Canada Instead.
Michael, I've said this before to you and Jessica and I'll say it again!! You two need your own tv series!!! You two were born for this. Just natural story tellers. Much love from Wisconsin!!!
Isn't TV out dated? 😂 I love this channel as is. Having control of your content and income is so amazing! And a world wide out reach. Love from New Zealand ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much you guys for making these videos! I'm handicapped and won't be going anywhere again. I still feel like I'm visiting your locations with you!
Michael and another UA-camr, Justin Root both do an awesome job of taking you through old-school Hollywood. It is a real talent to be able to do this research and be a good story teller. They both do it soooo well.
I’ll never understand when people buy famous homes and then get mad when people come by to see them. As long as you’re on public property, you’re good 👍
I went on a 3 month long trip this year through the west coast in my ‘88 VW van. Your channel inspired me to go out of the norm and visit some famous locations along the way. Nicole Brown Simpson, Manson Murders, Ted Bundy, etc.. but what gave me the courage to walk up to these locations was how you stand your ground when confronted by angry home owners even when on public lands. Thankfully i had no confrontations but the way you conduct yourself taught me how to handle it if it did happen. Thanks a lot for including it in your videos Grimm!
That was amazing how you were able to keep your cool (or should I say ghoul?) when dealing with that guy. You were very considerate and respectful with him and his property. That aside, you continually deliver quality on your videos. Hopefully one day I'll run into somewhere and get my photo with you. "Bones crossed".
We love you Michael, f you keep reading that from me or keep hearing me talk about your previous video then please dont be annoyed, i still havent recovered from your last video and its something i will be talking about in the years to come, you have earned my total respect after what you did in your previous video, i stilldont know how you managed to walk to the end of the tunnel on your own, not only on your own but you did that so calmly, no rush, i had to share that video with all my friends, they were all impressed, people can call you crazy all thy want but none of them understand how much guts it takes, times like this i wish i bumped into you when you was in the UK, i would of screamed like a girl to see yo, especially after your last video, you truely moved me with that perfrmance, by the way, this video was just as good too, love your channel
I love the fact that I was born and raised in Los Angeles and have learned so much about its history from you and Jessica! This is so awesome! Much love and many blessings to you both! ❤❤❤ Also, as a side note, the owner of that house is such a jerk (sorry, not sorry). He had no right to scream at you, knowing very well you were on public property... 🙄😒😑
This is the earliest I've found a new video! I used to go to parties in that area, but not in Jim's era. Coldwater Canyon has a lot of old Hollywood stories and ghosts too.
Take a day and listen to Joni Mitchell. My husband and I recently went to see Joni and friends at the Hollywood Bowl and she was still amazing. I was surprised at all the different generations in attendance, all of them singing along, all of them knowing her lyrics. Spend a day with Joni, you won't regret it.
That dude didn't have to be rude, and that dude didn't know he talking to the Legendary grim Life collective, that has rubbed more Hollywood actors and famous people and locations then this really used dude did a few old rock Legends and actors. Shame on him , he should be thankful that your paying Respect to the Hollywood Woods location instead being a swanker to Grim Life . All I'm saying. 🤜🏻🤛🏽🙌🏼
Yesss omg walking through history or flying through history as a ghost or bat! Stevie Nicks omgggg got so so excited through this! Every adventure is an amazing one! Such beautiful places, and much more to explore! Love you both! 💚👻🦇
Thank you for showing me the Hudini estate. My dog who was named after Harry Hudini cause he kept escaping his kennel without knowing how😅 thank you for the tribute, have never seen that till now.
Thank you for the hiking and documentation of places. Imagine metal detecting everywhere on Earth and the treasures, screws, nails, latches, hinges, door knobs, and currency that could be found. I would be atleast a trillionaire for a while until I did some good with the money.
i love your channel i live in UK and not good health so limit me travel so watching your videos helps me travel in a way i know i wont ever get to go to thee places but through your channel i get to see and hear about them and for that i THANK YOU so much for sharing these places with me and many others like me you bring this old woman so much joy and i get to live through you 2 sweet young ones and see so much that i would love to visit but cant so dont ever change and enjoy every bit of it blessings to you both lots of love to you both from UK
By the way. The Ladd Pad was completely renovated and resold..Rumor is, The Nook where the Tom Petty Pic was taken was left intentionally in honor of both of them when they passed..A great DJ. Listened to Jim every night on KMET in LA from 10pm-2am..Lord Have Mercy..!!
I always watch every one of your videos and the ones about Los Angeles, my home as well, they just hit different. Thank you for what you do and stay safe. Love ya both 🤘🏼
There is SUCH Mystical charm about the era of the 60s Rock & Roll, that one can feel, but not describe--- it hurts to see it all go as the years roll on by... I think this episode finds part of it's center in California universe of things. I love these romps that you GriMMs take on that Rock & Roll journey with some of your travels... Thanks, for looking for it, and taking us all along, GriMMs... Happy 60s RNR Halloween.... :^)""""""""""""""""
Hi Michael and Jessica, in 2005 I interviewed Jim Morrison's (and the Stone's) bodyguard Tony Funches. He gave me slightly vague directions to Jim's house that he owned above Sunset Blvd, which I never published. Tony told me the house is no longer there but I'm happy to share what I know so that you can find it!
Omg, I bet you needed oxygen climbing all them stairs, 😮,wow what a view, and a fantastic place to live up in that high storey house 🏠 🪜, loved the caves too, I hope they leave everything in. Fabulous 👌 video Michael and one rude man for swearing, 😢tut, tut. 🎄
This was ace, I heard zappas wife saying that the Manson family would walk up that way and it use to freak them out. Love these vlogs please do more around this area xx also check out Eden Ahbez, John and Vera Richter, the owners of the Eutropheon, a vegetarian cafe on Laurel Canyon pre 60s
I love how you chose to use the song THE END I think it is my second most favorite Doors song only after RIDERS ON THE STORM. So much iconic music came out of this area, not just Morrison Nicks and Zappa, but so many more iconic songs and albums and performers. And having just finished re-watching the documentary WHEN YOU'RE STRANGE, I am in such a Doors mood this video just is the highlight of my day. As always, well done, well thought out, and very well executed. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Harry Houdini was the best magician in my opinion! Everything from the way he performed to the Legends and lore around him and his mysterious personality however that guy was extremely rude but obviously you know the laws about filming in public so good job Grimms!!!
I love the fact that you explore music and movie history. I've always had an interest in it but had no idea how to pursue it professionally when I was younger. Then came UA-cam 😂 Thanks for showing us this!! ❤
Laurel Canyon is a magical place and existed in a magical time. There really is nothing like it. I remember your original Morrison video and I'm glad that you took time to revisit for a broader video. We will never see a time and place like this again. The owner of the old Jim Ladd was beyond rude - you're correct in that people that buy these historic homes should know what they are buying and provide some reasonable public accommodation - especially for people standing on public property! Fun fact: I once had a record (back in the days when they came on 12" vinyl) of John Stewart's album: Bombs Away Dream Babies and I heard what sounded like Stevie Nicks on the track "Gold" and, sure enough, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham were friends and appeared on the album. But the real nifty thing is there is a picture on a door on the back album cover, which was Stevie Nick's front door to her home at the time.
I have wonderful memories of Laurel Canyon... especially exploring the remains of Houdini's estate (I also used to hang at the Magic Castle). "Indiana Jones" does not cover what you guys do. Rock on.
This was a very interesting video. I love your storytelling so much I'm just so into your videos. You are the kindness person I ever met. I just love you guys. Happy Halloween 🎃 🤪 😜 😋
Thanks for the video it’s so awesome!😎 could you do a video on where the Doors took the picture for their album Waiting for the sun please? I think that would be so kewl!!! I love the videos thanks guys!
Jim Ladd says that the Doors frequented his Laurel Canyon home. The only problem with that is he says he has lived there since 1974 and Jim Morrison died in 1971 while the Doors disbanded in 1973!
I'm glad you stood your ground. Its obvious you are just making a video and being respectful. He sounded British. What a sourpuss.
UK guy here. That guy was rude and now is immortalized in a UA-cam video as a Snobby, Sweary, Jerkoff. We don't want him back here! send him to Canada Instead.
I agree, he sounded british, cant believe he said hes allowed to swear
Michael, I've said this before to you and Jessica and I'll say it again!! You two need your own tv series!!! You two were born for this. Just natural story tellers. Much love from Wisconsin!!!
I second this comment.
Yeah I agree there so great behind the camera definitely TV show quality
Totally agree! You two are naturals and have definitely found your place in youtube land! Thank you :)
I think they should also have a touring company in Hollywood
Isn't TV out dated? 😂 I love this channel as is. Having control of your content and income is so amazing! And a world wide out reach. Love from New Zealand
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So glad you take the time to help keep our country’s history alive!!
Godspeed brother!!
That photo of Stevie is perfection
Hollywood is full of mystery, hidden gems, and secrets to be discovered. Great video!
Thank you so much you guys for making these videos! I'm handicapped and won't be going anywhere again. I still feel like I'm visiting your locations with you!
Handled that like a gentleman. Wonderful video as always!!!!!!
Your utube channel is the best one. You’re very professional. I watched almost all of your shows. Thank you Kelly from Montana
LOVE old-school Hollywood lore!!
Michael and another UA-camr, Justin Root both do an awesome job of taking you through old-school Hollywood. It is a real talent to be able to do this research and be a good story teller. They both do it soooo well.

The Zappa house remants was cool to see. He was great.
You mix your sound and video perfectly, very professional👍
Great video Michael shame about the guy swearing at you absolute no manners what so ever, you dealt with it perfectly and cool
Again as always very interesting & cool.
R.I.P. Jim Ladd

Amazing video. Love the stories and video. Great job again. Will need to check this area out.
😢😢😢😢
Joni Mitchell is a great song writer and has a beautiful voice. Thanks for showing this important area in music history.
What an amazing video! Superb storytelling as always! Thanks as always for sharing. Stay safe!
Ahhh my favorites musicians. Listing to their music growing up in the 70's. Oops just dated myself. 😅. That was an amazing video. 🎃🖤👻
More of these please Micheal These videos are the best. love Hollywood lore and keepimg these stories alive
I love these types of videos from you
Joni Mitchell's home is the house Graham Nash wrote Our House on CSNY Deja vu album. Very iconic house and great song.
I still love that song so much
This is the earliest I've found a new video! I used to go to parties in that area, but not in Jim's era. Coldwater Canyon has a lot of old Hollywood stories and ghosts too.
Other bands that lived in Laurel Canyon: Crosby, Stills, Nash; the Eagles; Jackson Browne; Linda Ronstadt, Buffalo Springfield, Poco, et al.
There will never be another place like this or another time where we will see this against. Unrepeatable history.
I absolutely love your videos! Specially when it's about real crime scene or a place where tragedy happened, anything spooky and creepy.
I love how he just kept filming, can't stand Brits moving to LA and thinking they own everything.
Indeed 😢

Yesss omg walking through history or flying through history as a ghost or bat! Stevie Nicks omgggg got so so excited through this! Every adventure is an amazing one! Such beautiful places, and much more to explore! Love you both! 💚👻🦇

Disappointing the bad vibes in a magic place
Thank you for another great video.
Every time I watch a GLC video I know I'm going to be educated and entertained. Thanks for all you do.
The Frank Zappa structures and stairs give me LOTR vibes
Was he a Tolkien fan?
Thank you for the hiking and documentation of places. Imagine metal detecting everywhere on Earth and the treasures, screws, nails, latches, hinges, door knobs, and currency that could be found. I would be atleast a trillionaire for a while until I did some good with the money.

Awesome video! When I retire, in a few months, I’m going to go down there and poke around :) I only live a couple hours north of there!

Huge, huge doors fan.
I believe Steve Jones from The Sex Pistols lives in Laurel Canyon.
Hello from Gatlinburg TN Smoky Mountains Park 🏞️🌄 Continue being great Grimms!
