Thanks for doing a demo with proper "vintage" bass tone for that smooth deep classic tone! So many others are addicted to that metallic 90's and beyond bass tone.
Fender finally stepped it up. I never really liked Fender bass amps in the past but these amps are ridiculously awesome. The 500 v3 with a nice extension cab is hard to beat by any amp at any price.
Those are some really cool amps and a great price! Your videos are my favorite videos to watch about basses if I see a bass I like I can usually find it on your channel and the reviews you do are great! I saw a video on the Detroit bass players channel and my uncles bands bass player Randy Lopez was on there and I saw you were in the video but. Anyway thanks for the great information in your videos!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these new Rumble series Earl ! I recently purchased a Rumble 200 v3 combo , very nice amp! ..If you hook up an extension cab, it goes to another level of rumble! Great value , Fender has a winner!
I have a Pre CBS Fender Bassman 50 amp and cab, a Peavy 400/2-15 amp and cab. and a GK MB115 combo amp that I use all the time for our out door gigs. BUT I have tried the Fender Rumble 100 V3 and it is love at first play! I DO believe that this Fender 11 is as loud as my GK MB115 @ 200 watts, Plus it has a foot switchable overdrive! I will be purchasing this baby soon!
I'm new to bass from drums. I bought the Ibanez gsr 205. When I went looking for amps I did a side by side with the 25 watt rumble and a comparable Orange. The rumble was $129 and the Orange $179. Even the shop owner was impressed with how much better the rumble sounded!! I of course bought the Rumble, MORE than loud enough for my house!!
Hey Maxproud, tonight I bought your old 2013 American Jazz from GC c/o Kevin. He always does me a solid and it's a beauty of a bass. Gotta a new band coming up in August so I needed to upgrade my gear. Always been a Fender P man and this is my first Jazz but I think I'll like it. My latest gear also includes an Acoustic 200 watt amp with a single 15". Very nice sound with a clean low-end and a nice punch without over powering the stage. I'll keep in touch and let you know how the first gig goes. Ttyl,,,
Hahaha! Glad to hear it has a good home now! Tore me up to get rid of it! But y'know how it goes? Finances have to come first! Hopefully I'll get another maple JBass USA, again! Congrats! And thanks Kevin Covert!!
Thanks dude, I've been waiting for a true review from someone who isn't trying to make me buy one. Personally I think ampegs have the best sound though.
I certainly agree. AMPEG is boss! But these new FENDERS were quite impressive. Great improvement s from the old RUMBLES. Check'em out if your able to. I'd like to hear your feedback on them?
You kinda discounted the rumble 25, but for an apartment dweller, it's great! Great sound quality, loud enough for practice, Would even work for a small venue acoustic gig.
I notice that too and agree. I have one too. Sounds good with a Ibanez 5 string and with active pickups. Put a mic in front of it for the hell of it and surprised a few people.
In hindsight when I was young the 25 watt is where I should have stayed. I had gotten the TKO Peavey and I loved it. But I was hindered by an older step brother. And the TKO amp was sold to the high school and I regret it. Anyway don't overlook basic practice needs for the hopes of a gig. And don't assume you're doing the right thing by giving a great deal. When I bought the TKO I had the option of a smaller version of it. But you know I wanted to practice slap funk at the time and the TKO was the best for the price.
Thanks Earl, I've always been a Fender man, but I do have a Ampeg BA115 which I love, but I may go down and check out the Rumbles, thanks again for that great review :-)
I just paid $449 for the 200 so $499 for the 500 is a really good price! I'm really liking the 200 so I'm sure I will have it for a while. Vintage channel is great. Buy with confidence.
Just recently purchased the Rumble 500. Use an Ampeg Optical Compressor pedal and an Ibanez SR650 Bass with it. Nice Smooth fat tone with a some deep classic tone. Able to get higher punchy tone sounds for my bass solos like on Brown Eyed Girl or Mustang Sally. I think the Rumble 500 is great for club, bar gigs. Plenty of power and swat. Super lightweight at only 36.5 pounds.
Great job as always buddy! I almost brought this amp! Love the tone. If you ever get a chance, please do a review on the Burgera Mosfet amp head and 2x 10 cabinet which contains the Turbo Sound speakers. I'm really loving my 4 string Fender Jazz active deluxe thru it!! Take care and keep the funk alive!!!!
Hey Earl, have you ever heard of the Bugera Vyron MOSFET 2000 watt head (430.00) and the Bugera 2 10 (250.00)cab rated at 1600 watts? I'm very pleased with the purchase but I was curious if you have heard this set up or know if anyone that's inquired about it. Thanks man and always enjoy your videos. I hope Bernard Edwards was on that list you dig!!!! My uncle is The legendary rhythm session guitarist Wah Wah Watson, I know you have heard of that dude!! Lol! Peace!
Hello again, I was wondering if you ever considered doing a video on what you consider as being the most Transparent Sounding and Clear Toned Class-D Bass Amp Head from such companies as Fender Rumble 500, Mesa Subway, Aquilar Tone Hammer, Peavey, Hartke, etc? I am looking for such a compact amp head and cabinet system, and would greatly consider your opinion. By the way I received my Sire V7 and love it. I hope to get a video sent to you of it. Keep up the great reviews. Thanks for any info you can provide. Jeff
+Jeffery Stanfield I would consider that. But keep in mind I've really not played amps with "heads." I've never owned a head. And I've always bought "all-in-ones' all my life! Interesting huh?
hey Earl, how do you think the rumble 200 compares to your ba115? is the ampeg louder than the fender? I know the fender is listed as having 140 watts with just the internal speaker. but manufacture's wattage ratings are all over the place. ampeg has their ratings in rms. the fender doesn't say if its in rms, peak or something else. ive played through a 300 watt combo that sounded more like 75 watts rms .ive always liked the ampeg tone, but the fenders ive been hearing on youtube sound very good.
maxproud thanks for the response Earl. I think i'll stick with the ampeg. that warm round tone sounds so good in the mix. looking forward to seeing more of your reviews.
So do you think a 40 would hold up with an acoustic group? Mostly churches and small parties. The occasional club, they both have sound so I could run into the board from the amp
I went and compared the rumble 200 v3 combo with the new ba 115 v2. I was hoping to get that b-15 sound from the ampeg, like the ba115 v1. the new ampeg had more of an svt tone to it. I would have gotten the ba115 v1, but a torn rotator cant handle 62 lbs. the fender rumble 200v3 sounds absolutely fantastic. sorry ampeg, I went home with the fender. it has the same sweetness as the ba115 v1 but has a bottom end that really thumps with a p bass. still very happy with the fender. light weight, stunning good looks and killer tone!
hiephoi058 the ampeg ba-210 v2 or the fender rumble 500 v3 should keep up with your rock band. I'm sure you will be happy with either one. both can power an additional 8 ohm speaker cab to get the full rated wattage.
+Soul Wagon I bought the rumble 500 + 410 cab. Could not try out the new Ampeg line, because i could not find one in a store. The rumble 500 is amazing, and freaking loud even at 350w
Hello man thanks for the video , what do you think about hartke combos? i don't really know what's the best option between fenders , ampeg ( my favorites ) or the new hartke hd.
Paul HDLT I've demo'd HARTKE's. But I just wouldn't buy a HARTKE. 'Not my sound, style, or even "look." I'd stick with the AMPEG's. But of course that's your decision.
Just bought a Rumble 500 used from a TalkBass member. Waiting for it to show up in the post. The EQ on these seem to have a very Ampeg-like quality. Hope Kevin is still holding it down at his GC. They're gonna start disappearing eventually.
maxproud no shit brother? First I heard. Everybody on the tb forums seems to dig the Rumbles. I noticed Fender put out the Bassman 500 recently though. Seems FMIC would be keeping in line with their wacky decisions lately if they discontinued the newest Rumble series.
I just bought a Rumble from Sam Ash and they said they can't keep them in stock! So I don't know where this discontinued talk is coming from. They sell them as fast as they come in.
Well, I'm sure it could. But, I don't know if you'd want to "push" it? It would be comfortable and safe with the 200, wouldn't it?! In music, you don't want to be too economic if you can afford it. Get what you need! No regrets later!.
Hello Maxproud, This Combo, is useful for performance churches? I want to ask what if the sound is not lost, or weakens the volume up large space? Thank! Nice day
+J Padile I assume the model with the highest wattage would be fine. Fender has always been good at delivering a strong bass sound. But depending on the size of the church seating area? You can always mic this amp through a sound system if need be.
It's no surprise the new V-3 series sounds good. FMIC bought Genz Benz, shut them down and "magically" the new Rumble line has most of the features of a Genz 6.0. Shuttle. Another great marketing feat by Fender Musical. Buy out the competition, shut em down, use the tried and true technology and make them somewhere in Asia. Thanks FMIC for putting more American workers out of a job.
Can I use a 500 rumble head with my Neo 1x15" bass cabinet ? I know the fender amp is not bi-amp but my Neo cabinet has the option to set it full range
Earl, Fender should be paying you .You do a great job.
Thanks Franco.
Thanks for doing a demo with proper "vintage" bass tone for that smooth deep classic tone! So many others are addicted to that metallic 90's and beyond bass tone.
Right! Da nada!
Good old Fender Rumble amps. I've had the Rumble 40 for years and its been great.
I bought the GK Microbass in 2001. Very satisfied. One great thing about the Microbass is the portability. The amps you show are not bad, either.
Wow you can handle that bass, just comes natural to you !
Thanks! But it's all practice.
Two things, first great review of these amps and second all of your videos are outstanding. Nice work!
Thank you kindly!
Fender finally stepped it up. I never really liked Fender bass amps in the past but these amps are ridiculously awesome. The 500 v3 with a nice extension cab is hard to beat by any amp at any price.
Agreed!
+maxproud witch one would you recommend that would keep up with live drums
Thanks for filming Kevin.
Sure!
Cool man! We got sort of a connection there. There's an interview of me there. It's on my My Bass Brotherz playlist!
Cool! I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Beautiful Trey! Congrats!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these new Rumble series Earl !
I recently purchased a Rumble 200 v3 combo , very nice amp! ..If you hook up an extension cab, it goes to another level of rumble!
Great value , Fender has a winner!
Thanks!
Great video! I have the V3 500 with a V3 1x15 extension cab, and I'm thoroughly impressed.
Thanks. I'm not surprised you impressed. Great powerful, and practical amps!
Thanks Earl! I have been wanting to hear a real review of these.
And thanks to you! These amps are great! Even the small RUMBLE 40 was nice.
I just got a rumble 200, love it !!
It sounds like a real bass amp !
Lots of bottom and tone, I was surprised !
Vince Sun Indeed! Tone is great to be such a light weight box!
Vince Sun Is it loud enough for a rockband?
+hiephoi058 If you add an extension cab to the combo it'll be loud !
Watch your ears. Don't ask me why I know this- sounds like tennis itis.
Ok if I have one in my guitar center than for sure.
Dylan E Thanks!
I have the SR300E. It's like the 25 was made with Ibanez in mind
danthony9311
I have a SR 505. I also have a '82 Rick 4003s. That doesn't sound bad but not as punchy with the passives. Again not a bad deal for $99.
40 sounded much fuller. Tried both today at GC. Optionally, grab a Fractal FM3 and use headphones.
Just bought a Rumble 200 15 inch Eminence speaker sounds great!
Cool!
I love fender amps!!! Although my most favorite is MarkBass Bass cabs and combos but I only use my fender amps for small coffee house gigs
Thanks Earl, I've always been a Fender man, but I do have a Ampeg BA115 which I love, but I may go down and check out the Rumbles, thanks again for that great review :-)
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!
I play one and I really like the amps and I am going to get one real soon the 500 just for the studio.Earl you have never lie about those Amps nice.
Oh yeah, bro! Very nice and convienent! I wouldn't steer you wrong!
Man they are really nice.
I just paid $449 for the 200 so $499 for the 500 is a really good price! I'm really liking the 200 so I'm sure I will have it for a while. Vintage channel is great. Buy with confidence.
Yeah, that amp should do you well! And it's so light!

Nothing wrong with that! Ampegs are great!

Glad it worked out! Ewww, torn rotator! Yeah the choice was easy, huh?!
Soul Wagon I got the ba115v1 right now, and it cannot handle a rock band. iam looking to buy the new ba series or rumble series
hiephoi058 the ampeg ba-210 v2 or the fender rumble 500 v3 should keep up with your rock band. I'm sure you will be happy with either one. both can power an additional 8 ohm speaker cab to get the full rated wattage.

MuscleDad420 Kevin is still there. The RUMBLES may be on their last leg. I think FENDER Amps will be making a new edition soon.
maxproud no shit brother? First I heard. Everybody on the tb forums seems to dig the Rumbles. I noticed Fender put out the Bassman 500 recently though. Seems FMIC would be keeping in line with their wacky decisions lately if they discontinued the newest Rumble series.
maxproud Are they being discontinued? oh no i bought the 100 watt V3 but... still want the 500 and i want one really badly in the near future
I just bought a Rumble from Sam Ash and they said they can't keep them in stock! So I don't know where this discontinued talk is coming from. They sell them as fast as they come in.
Do you think I can play the 100 with a loud drummer at practice?
Well, I'm sure it could. But, I don't know if you'd want to "push" it? It would be comfortable and safe with the 200, wouldn't it?! In music, you don't want to be too economic if you can afford it. Get what you need! No regrets later!.
Just finished a jam season with my band, the 100W is definitely louder than it looks. It is heard.
Miceal wilson Yessir!
The 100 can be enough for small venue gigs too.

Another great review but my friend and brother from the max proud check, mr. Earl Davis
Thanks bro!

Thanks FMIC for putting more American workers out of a job.
+crazyuncleduke9 Who is FMIC ?
Fender Musical Instrument Corporation.
Thanks
+crazyuncleduke9 I think you're wrong. Genz Benz is part of KMC(Kaman) and KMC is no longer part of FMIC.
What improvements were made to these amps since 2014? they have increased in price by $100
Style and weight, mostly!
Earl ever play battle stuff? I have only played ampeg sand need a new combo
Hi Earl, wonder if you could do a review of the new Ampeg BA v2 combos
I'll try.
How can the Fender rumble be so light? Has it got a neodynium speaker?
Well done!!
Thanks, I try.
Oh man, these came out a year after I bought my Roland cube bass120xl : ((
Oh Earl I forgot to ask, do you know if those amps are solid state or tube? I'm guessing solid state.
Definitely not "tube."
They are class D power amps.
Thank you, for info.
earl if you want to get blown away try the littlest one
I've tried it! Powerful little machine!
would you recomend this amp for miking and recording? greetings from Ecuador
Oh yes! Powerful, light-weight, and compact.
sick, I live in the South eastern Michigan area, which guitar center?
Eastpointe
maxproud Thank you, I am planning on checking these amps out, cause I need a bigger better sound, and these look great, thanks
Amazing prices!!!!!
hi man, very nice video, and nice amp.
Thanks mon ami!
Ampeg BA 110 or Fender RUMBLE? Im just starting and Im stuck between these two... please answer
The RUMBLE is lighter weight, if that makes a difference?
Yes, thank you!
Rumble has more 'thump'.
Can I use a 500 rumble head with my Neo 1x15" bass cabinet ? I know the fender amp is not bi-amp but my Neo cabinet has the option to set it full range
Not sure. Don't want to stir you wrong. Talk to a specialist at your neighborhood GUITAR CENTER. If possible.
thanks a lot
+Fili2009able I hooked up my rumble 200 v3 combo to my Gk Neo 210 cab, works/sounds beautiful!
Set your 1x15 cab to full range and enjoy!
Which 40w do you recommend, these, and Ampeg or an Acoustic
+Christian Jimenez I like the Ampeg for the strong bass sound. I'm not fond of the Acoustic, too many effects! I like more natural bass sound.
+maxproud +maxproud alright, awesome! I had already bought the 40w rumble, so do you recommend I return it for the Ampeg?
I don't care for the GK tone myself either, however they have excellent customer service...
Really?! Good info, thanks.
I had a GK BA110. Nice sound but too much hum. After a lot of searching I settled on TC Electronics.
Just made a vid showing off all the tones and sounds on the 40W. Check it!
what amp do you have for gigs maxproud?
I've used AMPEG & FENDER in the past. My "gigging" days seem to be over.
combos or head more cab?
I just reviewed the combos. I check if there's any speakers or heads.
maxproud With that attitude they(your giging days) will be! Get on out and play.
I should take my own advice too. damn.
Is that an order, or a suggestion? Lol.
TOCAAA
Yeah. The tone is FAT and WARM. Surprising for the low price.
So, could I hook up a Peavey bass to this amp? Would it sound good?
Are you speaking of Peavey amp, or an amp head,?
I mean the Fender amp
Isaiah T Bowers There's some cord access in the back of the amp. But I'm not sure it's connective to another amp. Sorry.
It's okay. Thanks for your help. :-)
so i google fender 40 watt cobo bass amp, hit vids hit the frist vid and WHO DO I FIND?
EARL
i should have gone strait to earl in the first place
Thanks! Welcome aboard!
I WANT the 500W 2x10 model... Great price and less than 40lbs. WOW!
Yes!
Specs are off dude
Really? In what way?
PLAY
Dude barely played a lick????
Not true.
