@@jojomane7023 He didn't but still he did a good thing, especially because it's family no matter how abusive the father is, he showed him respect as father, and also as a son, even if it's undeserved.

Joe was not a great dad he was abusive and controlling and treating Michael horribly.

His father used to beat the hell out of Michael and his brothers. Not only for disobedience but for things like if they accidentally messed up dance steps or singing on stage. He used to bully them, tease them and ridicule them. Michael didn't owe him an apology for anything.

Joe Jackson was never a good father. He abused MJ psychologically and physically since he was 5 years old, deprived him of a childhood and ridiculed him well into his adulthood.
The reason why he wanted MJ to call him Joseph was because he wanted their relationship to remain strictly professional, strictly business partners, at all times. He used to make fun of him, tell MJ that he’s not MJ’s father because of his flat nose, that he’s ugly and must’ve gotten it from his mom side, which caused life long insecurities for MJ to the point that he went through multiple surgeries to “fix his imperfections”. Not to mention the multiple attempts to chemically castrate Michael in order to keep his high-pitched voice and that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what Joe did to his family. Pure evil
Joseph Jackson was a Dad like every other Dad back in the day . What kid didn't get spanked? For many parents back in the day this was the way to Discipline, was an essential aspect of Raising Well - Behaved and Respectful Children.. Not realizing that it was ABUSE..No One Should Judge Joseph Jackson for his actions except for his own children. It is up to them not the public to pass judgement..
