    Good advice. We follow a similar pattern here in SC. We offer to blow out beds and mulch leaves for an extra fee. If client doesn't want to pay the fee we just mow as usual and ignore the beds.

      Nice 👍 Yes it much easier to tackle this way I found. Thanks for watching.

      just imagine charging a client for its dog pooping in the yard. that is truly comifornia type of taxing.
      thats like a restaurant charging a convenience tax for workers having to go to work.

      @@MatthewHensley8304 we do it for several customers. If they are too lazy to clean up after their dog and we have to spend time cleaning our tires, they will pay for that time.

    I only do random callers leaf cleanups after I finish my normal customers route. I just charge overwhelming prices and it's completely worth it, and I only do the job if they can be moved to the woods at the back of the property. In my city they also come around with a vac truck and take the leaves it's great.

    Your videos are very detailed and give good advice, we do it similar to what you do but I have to take the leaves with us. So I basically keep track of the time we are at the house and about how much leaves we take away on that visit and write it down then charge accordingly when I do the final invoice

      I appreciate the feedback on the video. The surcharge system works great and is totally adaptable as you have done with including the disposal of leaves and adjusting the price to dump. Thanks for watching.

    In PA most customers want to wait for all of the leaves to fall and you just blow in one shot and charge like between 175 to 400 depending on property size and complexity

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  2 роки тому +2

      That’s unfortunate. The problem with that here where I’m at is the leaves start falling for weeks so then what happens? To wait means you lose out on the income from mowing each week because of course you can’t mow without removing the leaves. This way it’s less labour intensive and you don’t lose out on any mowing income. At the end of the season the surcharge every week adds up to what a full leaf clean up would be. Thanks for watching.

      I have a minimum of $350 to do a leaf cleanup. We also stop mowing by the 1st or 2nd week of November. I’m also from PA.

    I love the surcharge idea I feel like I might need to think about that for next season

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  2 роки тому +1

      It has worked well for me. By having it as a surcharge on the original quote that the customer agrees to, It allows me to just go ahead take care of the leaves each week and not lose out on any mowing income as well. Thanks for watching.

    Xmark sells a bagging mower similar to walker!? I had no idea!

      Yes and it’s been available for many years now. Awesome machine. I’ve owned both and prefer the heavier duty build of the Exmark. I’ve got lots of videos of it on my channel. Check out the walk around video when I first got it and talk about the differences with the Walker I owned. Thanks for watching. Here’s a link to that video I referenced.

    Also look at the neighboring properties. The house next door could have trees as well.

    hey I have so many questions. I listen to your podcast and will definitely dm you on IG. question for now. you charge your clients weekly or monthly ? so that being said do you get your payment the day you go cut their lawn or does it all deposit monthly ? if that sorta makes sense.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Рік тому

      I charge all my clients credit cards once per month on the last day of the month for all the work done during that month. During the next service visit the following week I drop off an invoice for their records. It takes 1-2 days for the money to be deposited in my account from the credit cards. Thanks for watching.

  • @cavenuts1
    @cavenuts1 Рік тому +1

    Do you blow out all the beds weekly before mowing?

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Рік тому

      Yes just quickly though. The thing is in most cases by the time I get done with a yard there’s already new leaves on the ground already. So I’m not spending tons of time making sure every leaf is gone each week. Just doing the obvious majority. As the weeks go by less and less leaves fall and it makes more of a difference. If I’m at the very end and frost is hitting and the season is done with no more leaves to fall then I’ll do my last visit with more detail and time spent but I will also charge more if needed. Thanks for watching.

    Even if the customer doesn't have trees they blow/fall from adjacent properties including the homes across the street and must be anticipated.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Рік тому +1

      Yes exactly. I’ve had to explain that to a client who tried to tell me they had no trees. Yet the next door neighbour’s tree was close to the property line and would make a mess on the lawn. Thanks for watching.

      Hahaha you damn right there is! I live on a main road and with the ocean wind constantly ripping through I get leaves from half a mile down the street along my hedge row. (Only one tree in my front yard) we Used to get the neighborhood leaves in our front yard but after a few years dealing with that I put up a fence with chicken wire along the bottom😂 reduced my leaf clean up by 90%. Now I just blow that shit away from my fence. Not my trees not my leaves = not my problem 🤣. Really annoying when neighbors let their crap blow into other people's property. Homeowners have their hands full with their own chores and life tasks. Clean your own shit America
