Something that’s been motivating me to use up my stash: this stuff doesn’t improve with age! Markers dry up, adhesive (stickers&washi) dries up! Keeping them in a box for years means they’ll be unusable, and therefore wasted and trash anyway. Using them now means they’ll at least get to be appreciated.
*still working on an argument for my scrap paper collection...
haha that is LEGIT - so many things start to shrivel up and also trends fall out of favor too. New reason added to my list :)

I started a bullet journal because I didn’t want to spend a lot on day timer books at staples. I found nerd with notes on Instagram and pretty much followed her layouts. I have 3-5 rolls of washi from scrapbooking stuff but I never understood the stickers or washi for journals. Pens are a different story. Show me a cool pen and I fall down the rabbit hole. I put myself on low spend when covid started and Christmas I fell a bit but I’ve stayed on low spend since. Good luck with your challenge!
Thank you so much! I think being honest about what I use has been so helpful. I use washi functionally these days LOL like, to edge my paintings haha. Thank you for sharing your own journey too!

Last year I did a no spend for planner supplies etc and did well until the end of the year (new planners you know!). I'm still on a no-spend, or low spend, trying to think twice before buying. Thanks for the inspiration!

I haven't bought any supplies this year. I originally told myself I could buy stickers after I used up 30 sheets. I'm now close to 40 sheets.. but feel like I still have too much lol. Now I'm aiming for 50! It does feel good to finally use up stuff.
You constantly remind me how I can use up my stash!!
I should have thought to save my empty sticker sheets to see my progress!

Loved this Jessica! I am all in for a low-spend, or just replacement purchases for this year! My struggle is sizes of notebooks for my bullet journaling. I keep watching planners on UA-cam and thinking about how the grass might be greener on the other side if I used their notebook. I have eliminated all other social media, except UA-cam so that I limit my temptation but UA-cam is still a strong temptation for me.

B6 sized notebooks! Like the slightly smaller size. Also the crinkle of the Stalogy paper. Since bullet journal edition 2 is still out, I moved to a Stalogy and then I have a Scribbles that Matter B6 coming this week for next.
So interested but totally need to have an accountability partner because of all the pretty things!
That's where the FB group was super helpful, that you can see other people cheering others on for NOT buying things, or saying what I need to hear, AKA "What are you going to do with that??" "oh.... right... I don't actually use Oli clips LOL"
I'm definitely on a low spend! Sometimes I go ham for the releases, but I've definitely been dialing it back.
And then you had to go and make some pretty stickers too haha
