Yes I am canadian and I have already invested in several of the HARVEST etfs that use the same symbols or close symbols as yieldmax. They are on the TSX so they can use the same symbol names. And no you don't need to have a different brokerage to invest in foreign exchange stocks and holdings. Canadians use the same brokerage for all their US holding investments as our canadian investments. We have canadian and us currency accounts if we don't want the broker to execute the exchanges. The harvest etfs are more conservative and much more stable on their monthly payments although obviously lower than yieldmax. Sooo hope that helps
Canadian investor and long time subscriber. Thanks for all the work you do man. It’s odd that the ticker symbol can be copied but we can buy both of the ETF’s in one brokerage account because the ETF’s are on different exchanges. The new MSTY from Harvest is on the Canadian Toronto Stock Exchange. I’ll watch it forsure for yield, because in Canada if you are buying the original MSTY in a non-registered account like a TFSA we pay a 15% withholding tax right off the top of each dividend. If we buy in our RRSP accounts there is no withholding tax taken. Thanks for all the work you are putting into keeping us informed man. Cheers!
If you invest using Schwab, you can open an global account which allows you to trade TSX… It actually looks cheaper, but would it perform close to how the US MSTY does?
Is it wrong to assume that if a share price goes up 8% then the underlying ETF price will also go up at least 4%. What factors determine the rise in ETF share price?
Anyone else notice MSTY went to weekly options? Most of the open interest was still on the 2/21/25 date though. Hopfully the weelys pick up. I made $1000 on the January expiration date, on top of the $3200 distribution (1500 shares)
Canadian here. Canadian income investors are very excited with Harvest's latest high income shares ETF release. They also created an all in one HHIS that holds all of their high income funds, similar to YMAX.
@@DanaBrown-l3r RoD asked for his Canadian followers to chime in. Why do you have an issue with that? It's YT comments for crying out loud. You must have no life.
Hey Rod , I've been a follower of yours for almost a year now . Great info keep it going. I'm a Canadian and own several Yieldmax in my RRSP . I discovered the HARVEST MSTY fund a few weeks ago . Monthly dividend not as attractive as Yieldmax but it's on my watch list .
@NickLauraMonastero Yup I know. With how high the yields are its still an amazing opportunity. I've done all the math including 15% tax on a full year of payouts, still great.
Good idea , I'm going to do my math on this. Might be further ahead paying the withholding tax and not having to claim it as income when it's in my TFSA. Is there something I'm missing in this thought .
Yes , I am Canadian and No , NOT joining as the 51st state … I am a fan of your videos and of ymax , I have CA: Msty on my watch list but too early if I will buy that, first dividend announcement at the end of Feb,, but I am sure I will keep both ymax and Msty . Thanks for your incredible work .
I am a Canadian subscriber and have owned a number of harvest elf's.They recently launched a number of single stock etf and an all in one(hhis). I use a canadian broker but assume they should be available on any broker. As you said they only write up to a maximum of 50% to capture more of the upside but give up some yield.I think msty is starting out with a 35%yield with some capital growth. I purchased some nvhe a couple months ago and looks promising.
I love NVDA, but the fund manager running NVDY is an idiot. I’ll be getting rid of all my NVDY in the near future. I’ll probably split it between YMAX and MSTY.
Hi RoD! I'm a canadian investor that uses some accounts (Retirement Accounts) to invest in US ETF's like MSTY, CONY, NVDY and YMAX because we can benefit from not paying the 15% withholding tax. In my Tax Free and Margin accounts I currently invest only in Canadian ETF's. But I'm following the TSX:HHIS that should be the same as YMAX in Yieldmax to see how does it performs to see if I can benefit from the high yield in my Tax Free and Margin accounts. Let's see...
Hey Rod. Thanks for all you are doing. Any chance you can give feedback on AMDY or SMCY. Just bought both of those tonight after hours. Just need to make sure they ain’t got no gold digger or else I’m gonna be a broke mofo. 😂 I want to do MSTY but wanting price to get down to $28. Thanks. Rick and Rhonda in freezing ass cold Fort Worth. Don’t forget to turn the heater on early!
I honestly think they should stop trying to yield the IV and just set a % out of the money for their calls. For instance MSTY should be minimum 8% out of the money. I think they would win far more trades and be more consistent. It would probably yield less but I think it would be a better strategy.
Canadian investor here, they're labeled with a Canadian flag or American on TD webbroker. Our market is meh, but US dividend payments in Tax Free Accounts are subject to 15% withholding tax, so this is trying to appeal to people who want to avoid that
They’ll have to do better (I mean all CAD funds). I was able to retire due in large part to OG MSTY. Couldn’t do that with this new one. But keeping an eye out to “park” cash in as my Wealthsimple Cash interest goes down.
@carloscanizares101 i know even with the WHT, I'm still gonna be making like 60-70% annually in dividends. I then transfer some of the dividends to my FHSA and get a 35% tax credit anyways
Great job…shocking Yeildmax looses the weekly trades …still waiting for other big players to come out with better etfs …I’m not buying Canadian or China etfs …hopping roundhill or neos can step up to the plate …
Wouldn’t touch this Canadian MSTY or any Canadian stock. Hate messing with currency exchange. I vote for dropping your Gold Digger song. It’s really annoying.
MSTY #2, Nice job NVDY Mgr - Loser🤬🤬 YM - pls start doing some Calls farther OTM and no Worthless Spreads. Your success records over last couple of months SUCK!

Thanks Rod! I get the feeling Yieldmax doesn’t want MSTY to be the goat anymore.
“MAKE DIVIDENDS GREAT AGAIN” Dude !!! YEAH ! Let’s DO IT !!

I am leaving Monday for a 12 day cruise to the Caribbeans. Lol
Happy cruising!
Msty or msty 2.0?
There was a ton of activity on LFGY yesterday. Thoughts?
Declaration date so may be new purchases bought before dividend date yesterday? Not sure

Woot...I was #500 for LIKES!
MSTY😊😊😊❤
CA:MSTY. Not to be confused with M-S-T-Y. That might help with your google sheets but I don't know how you are pulling the data. 🙂

Im gonna pick up some of each and some HHIS
U should buy these in a TFSA. Then u can withdraw the dividend money if u want to
@ryand3rson There a 15% with holding tax on the US side on foreign investors.
