Not a Lions fan, but Barry Sanders was and is still my favorite football player of all time. The GOAT. My favorite part of Thanksgiving as a kid was watching Barry making straight up fools out of the defense.
"You're being so modest" That's one of his key characteristics Rich. I know you've worked with some real divas at NFL network, but Barry Sanders is not one of them
he almost single handly could have led us to the superbowl but man he is the goat the fact that jason hanson was around when he played is also amazing!
That's not totally fair. Barry had decent o-line. Lomas Brown made multiple pro bowls and was All-pro. He had Kevin Glover who was pretty good. I think it seems worse than it was because the Lions are consistently trash overall, and the fact that Emmit Smith ran behind probably the Greatest O-Line ever.
When the Lions actually had their oline clicking Barry went for 2000 yards. Every other year they were inconsistent...and he still went for like1200 at least.
How many times was Barry getting the ball with a defender in the backfield already? Way too many from what I recall. Just food for thought, Barry’s ypc and Emmitt’s attempts your looking at mid 21k. Nothing is guaranteed but something to ponder
My favorite football player ever. I'm from Detroit and I went to a few games as a kid. One time at a game, my mom went to the bathroom and Barry ran for an 80 yard TD. When she came back we told her she missed it. She was so upset lol.
I'm not one of those people that usually likes "what if" questions because it is impossible to know what WOULD have happened but what if Barry had played for a good team? My God can you imagine?!?!
💯. We got a little taste of it at Oklahoma St. With a decent team, he shattered (and still holds) virtually every single-season RB record there is. If Dallas had taken him #1 instead of Aikman......smh.... i don't think it's a stretch to predict that he might have averaged 2000 yards/year. I mean, he averaged 1500/year with Detroit...
One of my favorite juke is the one he put on Rod Woodson of the Steelers, Barry juked Woodson so hard on a swing pass that Woodson blew out his knee... done for the season.
Barry and Megatron are two of my favorite players of all time. These guys were class acts on and off the field. Both retired early while still at their peaks.
People forget that he tore his MCL at the prime of his playing days in thanksgiving day. I was to say ‘93. Back then it was a big deal because a lot of players weren’t able to bounce back to their true form - surgical and PT skills weren’t nearly as advanced. Yet Barry not only bounced back but he was a better player.
I’ve torn my MCL before. As long as it’s a partial tear it can fully heal without surgery. Don’t get me wrong it’s no fun but it’s nowhere near as bad as an ACL tear which nearly always needs reconstruction as it usually completely snaps when injured.
"Anger was expressed".... understatement. Barry is the BEST to eva push that rock. PERIOD. Look at his pathetic teams, including coaching, with not much of an O/L. For the people that harp on his yards lost, that tends to happen as soon as you touch the ball, and you have to immediately make another grown professional NFL player miss you. Thank you Barry for the privilege of watching greatness for 10 NFL years, and one of the greatest collegiate years ever. Oh, one more thing, when Barry was in college and the opposing coach (Barry Switzer) told his staff, "We don't want to hurt Thurman (Thomas), because we DON"T WANT TO SEE THIS KID BARRY SANDERS," nuff said people.
Top 5 juke runs lol...Cowboy's Ken Norton in famous playoff game run , Buc's Jon Lynch 80 yard run , Steeler's Rod Woodson(tore his ACL on the juke), Harlon Barnett Patriots, Buc's Derrick Brooks on 65 yard screen pass, Viking's Felix Wright & Jimmy Williams on two separate runs in same game in 91'. And of course hundreds of others during his brilliant career.
Im a long time Lions fan i was a Big Billy Sims fan 😎 Then his career was cut short with injuries Then Barry came and wow 🎉a great all time running back
Breaking Rod Woodsons ankle. He was a damn all pro man.. Then John Lynch. The entire Buffalo bills defense. The bears defense. Damn, near the entire NFL. LEGENDARY
Gotta love Barry man for all you youngins out here UA-cam his highlights the man was COLDDDDDD while you at it look up Walter Payton and Gale Sayers you'll thank me later 😂😂😂✌🏿
Best pure RB ever. Not great in Pass Pro or Receiving. But he was so good with the ball in his hands it simply did not matter. I say "ever" because with respect imagine what he'd have done to Jim Brown's competition. Or Gayle Sayers.
Man I wish instead of Retiring he would have went to the Minnesota Vikings Can you Imagine the second Best Offensive Line a Solid QB, Barry Sanders, Chris Carter and Randy Moss? UNSTOPPABLE!!!!!!
No question It's Barry! Can you imagine if Barry played for the Cowboys and had that offensive line! It would have been Ok State all over again. Video game stats!!
The best running back to ever play in the NFL. Love Barry Sanders!
Walter Payton says nope, but he surely is right at the top.
@@mikeb1039 its close . don't get me wrong I love Payton but Barry OMG....he was and still is THE GREATEST . And i am a Packers fan
arguably the greatest RB in NFL history... and he's this humble and down to earth. man i wish Barry had been given the chance to win a super bowl.
Not a Lions fan, but Barry Sanders was and is still my favorite football player of all time. The GOAT.
My favorite part of Thanksgiving as a kid was watching Barry making straight up fools out of the defense.
I feel the same way💯💯💯🫡🫡🫡
The greatest RB ever.
Preach!
Vikings Fan and huge AP fan and you are not wrong.
ON GAWD
GOAT
Not even close. People toss that around a lot and rarely does it apply as clearly and obviously as this. He's the best to ever do it.
The best testament to Barry's talent came fro Howie Long. I played against him 11 times and never touched him. And he's a hall of Famer.
Hands down the best running back of all time. Don’t @ me either lol.
No argument here. If he had stayed longer he would have shattered every running record
He's my favorite for sure.
I was going to go to say that well said not even close.
👋@
@@winstonbrown1516hey!
The ultimate RB while being the ultimate man is something to be admired. God bless you Mr. Sanders. Thanks for the memories sir.
He is the greatest RB ever.
Barry was like look man.....
I was just trying to make it home on Sunday nights.
"You're being so modest"
That's one of his key characteristics Rich. I know you've worked with some real divas at NFL network, but Barry Sanders is not one of them
Barry was my hero growing up. Great player better man. Don't see humility in the sport often.
What a wonderful human being. That smile is so infectious. Thorough gentleman and the Greatest Running Back ever.
one of the all time great running backs best player in lions history
*NFL History. Never forget he had the power to beat all records.
he almost single handly could have led us to the superbowl but man he is the goat the fact that jason hanson was around when he played is also amazing!
Barry was the best ever. Nobody ran the ball better
My all time fav RB
Imagine if this man had played behind a real NFL offensive line.
That's not totally fair. Barry had decent o-line. Lomas Brown made multiple pro bowls and was All-pro. He had Kevin Glover who was pretty good. @@doubledown0411 not consistently true.
Then there would be no highlights.

My sports hero growing up. Luckily, I've met him -- and he was delightful.
The Cowboys juke was the best. That dude still looking for Barry
I love the one against the Bears where everyone on the team, INCLUDING Mike Singletary, tried to tackle him at the same time.
He scored a touchdown.
Barry left Hall of Famers laying on the turf like laundry.
Barry is to humble to get the juicy stories. Talk to his teammates
Thanks Barry - you were the best!
Barry had the best signature shoe ever
Damn this the first time I’ve seen him smile or laugh that’s crazy!! 😂
My favorite football player ever. I'm from Detroit and I went to a few games as a kid. One time at a game, my mom went to the bathroom and Barry ran for an 80 yard TD. When she came back we told her she missed it. She was so upset lol.

He juked John Lynch, current 49ers GM, super good.
When I'm picking my team, it starts with Barry Sanders.
He’d def be my first RB. But I’m probably starting with LT. dude was a nightmare for offenses.
Barry still as humble as ever....the real GOAT
The guy I seen more mad than anyone at Barry was Richard Dent. Finally tackled Barry late one game and dragged him for another five yards lol
😂😂😂😂
Barry and Megatron are two of my favorite players of all time. These guys were class acts on and off the field. Both retired early while still at their peaks.
My favorite was the game in 92 where Darrell Green of the Redskins had to leave the game because he hurt himself trying to tackle Sanders.
Man he's so humble!!! I miss this era in sports😢
Barry broke more ankles in the history of the NFL.
Gayle Sayers broke a lot.
The greatest RB.
The humblest athlete.
The greatest laugh 😂
You are the greatest running back that ever carried the ball! Never a Lions fan… but you were great!
A super nice guy, so modest and so great!
Barry Sanders is my favoriate running back of all time. And he is just pure class.
Always a total gentleman. Oh yeah, the GOAT too!
GOAT, and the second one it's not even close.
Love Barry, I remember him running and spinning through that pile of Bears back in the early 90s. killed me as a Bears fan
I’m a bears fan, so I’m biased to Walter being the best RB ever, but damn I can’t deny Barry was probably better tbh
People forget that he tore his MCL at the prime of his playing days in thanksgiving day. I was to say ‘93. That touchdown against the Cowboys in the 1991 playoffs had to be one of his best.
Pats fan. It was nuts when he did that. They did not name names though.
Best RB EVER talking about ‘GangGreen’ 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I've seen Barry juke Reggie White when he was with the Packers. I'm sure he's juked everybody, just too humble to admit it.
That dallas cowboys run and the patriots 1 are the best
"Anger was expressed".... understatement. Barry is the BEST to eva push that rock. PERIOD. Look at his pathetic teams, including coaching, with not much of an O/L. Reggie White started off with the USFL with Memphis Showboats for a couple of seasons.
I don’t know what was more fun to watch in the 90s; Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Tiger Woods, or Barry Sanders!
If he had Emmit Smiths line in Dallas, he would have had multiple 2000 yard seasons.
Every year
Tops In My Book: 1. B. Sanders, 2. J. Brown, 3. W. Payton, 4. B. Jackson, 5. E. Smith, (6. E. Dickerson).
Rich Eisen doesn’t let anyone speak
Kinda like Howard Stern...
I know there is footage of him juking Reggie, I've seen it. Barry takes the handoff right, breaks Reggie down with that two step.
I think Rich has to ask Mike Singletary about Barry :D
I'm a Packer fan, but Barry was the human highlight. Electrifying. Bo Jackson as well.
Barry was so good at juking that he even juked CTE. Legendary.
Top 5 juke runs lol...Cowboy's Ken Norton in famous playoff game run , Buc's Jon Lynch 80 yard run , Steeler's Rod Woodson(tore his ACL on the juke), Harlon Barnett Patriots, Buc's Derrick Brooks on 65 yard screen pass, Viking's Felix Wright & Jimmy Williams on two separate runs in same game in 91'. The 6 cowboys who surrounded you sermed to disappear only to leave juke your way out and if memory serves score 6 was jaw droppings.
Breaking Rod Woodsons ankle.
He was a damn all pro man..
Then John Lynch.
The entire Buffalo bills defense.
The bears defense.

LEGENDARY
The Goat!
Barry the Beast! Smashin' Sanders!
He ended Rod Woodson’s career with a juke
The greatest running back to ever do it
Barry you KNOW you juked that man outta his shoes at least once lmfao
Why does Rich Eisen sound like Chris Farley interviewing Paul McCartney in this clip?
Barry was my idol running back and I wanted to run like him and I’m a Niners fan.
Absolutely a sign of respect!!! lol.
He got so many how can he even think of one.
OG 😎Barry Sanders!
My favorite running bacc

Heck, Barry juked his own blockers.
Lol
Barry: They’re all going to laugh with you
If Barry just played til he was 35 years old he would have over 20,000 yards easy..
The real greatest don't really care about records and titles.. their gift is all they need.
@@DNATruLyricistthat why more ppl talks about Barry Sanders than Emmitt Smith.

I bet that old man still fast 😂
#1 Juke against the Dallas Defense

@Babyface Nelson yes Sir and defensive coordinators would have nightmares
I'm gonna tackle Barry Sanders! wait, what happened? I've got a face full of grass.
God we you Berry one Pride lions fan for life
The best
THE Ankle Breaker.
He was like Kyrie or MJ - must see TV!!!!!
Reggie and the Packers held him to -2 yards in a playoff game.
Nobody is perfect, don’t act like the Packers and Reggie never got the business too. He also had 169 against them in 93.
really? please provide that date.
His greatest juke is his innate humility.
So petty of the host to leave a fake Lombardi out there what a gut shot
Barry vs Emmitt, who you got?
Barry for sure!!!
Barry fo sho
No question It's Barry! Can you imagine if Barry played for the Cowboys and had that offensive line! It would have been Ok State all over again. Video game stats!!
Put Barry behind that cowboy oline and put emmit behind the lions debate is over
And a very interesting person.
When Barry Sanders was a rookie he did not play like one
