Good video. First one I've seen where the injector sleeves were replaced (which they should be). On truck engine it's usual to have to swage the sleeves outwards to make a sealed contact with the cylinder head injector bore. Also you made an effort to cover the open pipe outlets.

Good work GB! That looked like a nightmare job!

Before doing any pulling or turning or extracting, I'd be getting a blunt air-hammer chisel & rattling them injectors so much they decided it was less hassle to come out than to stay put. The severe vibration tends to "Explain Better" to stuff like this.
I also find almost any "Puller" you can buy is usually toffee & wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding without either breaking or failing at the job. 99 times out of a hundred I end up making a heavier duty version out of stuff that isn't supposed to be a puller instead of using the "Commercial" tool. Generally the starting point is either some method that employs an air-hammer, a 10 ton jack (because 10 tons is about the starting point, anything less is naff) or the threaded section out of a spring compressor - those don't break & everything moves better with heat/vibration/massive pressure or both. Just "pulling" or pushing alone usually fails. Usually being almost always.

On that ^^ btw, hooking the injector up to a chain-block fixed to a gantry/iron girder of the building ( :-) ) above, applying so much lift the van raises somewhat & then giving the injector an ickle "Hint" with the air-chisel tends to cut out a lot of cissying about. Ford didn't design them injectors as a jacking point, so generally they will fail to stay put when asked to perform as one. :-) You might like to pop a bungee cord or some-such onto the bottom of the "puller" so when the injector "gently emerges" it doesn't take your head off... but that aside...
This way, the van itself becomes the real force behind the puller... removing the bonnet kinda helps with this too, btw.. it's in the way. If the injector is "angled" in the head, chock the rear wheels in a position where the "puller" is angled correctly to make a straight pull - then apply the same method, I.E use the whole damn vehicle as the "extraction force". :-)
People go "Well, you can't do that.." Yeah ya can.

      Thank you, James.
The air puller must work as well, but we didn't have a chance to buy it and tested it. The hydraulic, which we have look like good for now and does the job.
Thank you very much for the tricks and experience , which you shared with us.

Ford have a time for doing this job. It’s based on the best time achieved by their mechanic on a new vehicle.

  • @handsfree1000
    @handsfree1000 Рік тому +2

When you put two dissimilar metal’s together you create an electrolyte which causes corrosion. Steel injector and alloy cylinder head. 🧐

Ford must be aware of this, and it’s not as if this is an old vehicle

We had belt change on 2018 Transit and It was on 118k miles. Most of the problems are lack of maintenance.

Thank you very much for your response. What do you like more to see, no music on more of the moments, leave as a background or changing the music style?
Any advice will help to improve the videos.
      Thank you.

I feel a bit bad because I criticised your video and I don’t even do them myself.
I have watched so much UA-cam and personally for me I much prefer to hear people explaining along the way why they are doing something, it’s ok sometimes for quiet talking times when we are watching you do something as well. I get it’s hard to always be talking to fill in the gaps. I live to see and hear what you do not the music.
Some favourites of mine are. South Main Auto channel, Diagnose Dan, Pine Hollow auto diagnostics, Watch Wes Work, Advanced Level Auto, I can’t think of the others, but it’s just them talking and working.
Don’t forget that’s just my opinion and please keep up the good work. I watched your vid as I have a Ford Endura in Australia which is a US/Canada Ford Edge with the 2.0 Ecoblue.
      Cheers.
