This is not a forest. It is a tree farm.
This left-wing pack is primarily concerned with being able to continue to live cheaply in the city center. They see that as a danger.
the mess in berlin was predictable.
Probably all unemployed and paid for Ukr refugees that they took in.
Do they protest other factories with such fervor? Isn't also worth noting that Tesla uses less water than may of the other factories in the country as well as recover and reuses some of that water. I've been really trying to understand their argument against Tesla in lieu of other companies seeming acting way worse on the environment in the country...yet I haven't heard of them descending upon those companies and it's making it seem like it's all paid for and planned by other car companies, oil companies and other businesses with an axe to grind against Tesla.
Elon is much more in the limelight than other CEOs, with an active X account and such, thus grabbing more attention (love and hate) from everyone
Yes they do - look into the coal mining protests for starters.
no, they do not protest other car factores. and in advance YES as you see in vote htey get full support of people. tesla in many places of eu have problms, i suppose in the future will be more problems not only in germany
hundreds of protests happen throughout the year all over Germany in regards to expansion into unbuilt terrain
just because you did not hear about those does not mean that they don't happen
it is a big area and that was zoned for forest-aggriculture before Tesla came
Normal people can't just buy forest and build on it, as long as it is not rezoned for industry - the re-zoning of areas is on municipality level and the local people are not happy with the decisions of their village/town
Germany produces already 4 million cars per year; I guess the protestors simply think, that they don't need more and it is easier to prevent expansion vs destroy existing infrastructure/industries/companies
btw. once the surface is sealed with concrete and streets the rainwater simply washes down the drains and increase issues of droughts
Not really. These protesters want to force Tesla stopping production. They even used terrorist means three months ago. Before thst were also some sabotages.
It's easy to see the ,,disruptive,,element is organized
The protesters made the German cops look very inept.
@@jameswilson5165Replying to comments you don't understand.
@@event__horizon Video proves you wrong.
Why are some of the protesters holding up banners and placards that are in English? We saw this also in the riots in Hong Kong in 2019 and in Ukraine during the two overthrows of Viktor Yanukovych. Would protesters in the UK or the USA have banners in a foreign language? If they did, I think a lot of people would assume that someone in a country where that language is spoken had something to do with the organisation of the protest.
As a native German this is embarrasssssing 💀🤦🏻♀️
the people in that town were indoctrinated by the green party movement, they are very strong in Germany. The Germans are fucking stupid voting this kind of people in the government!
I didn't blame Germans. Who exports the most EVs and sees EVs as a point of national pride? Who has EVs stacked at the ports? Who isn't a fan of capitalism?
why?
The German police using a softly approach pussy footing about. Mercedes, BMW and Audi are struggling to pivot to cleaner energy while loosing profits from dwindling internal combustion engined car sales.
Stupid left wing idiots in germany.
SPD and Grune idiots.
Optimus Security new update coming soon.
The translation of the anti-Tesla protest banner "Tesla den HAHN abdrehen ist Handarbeit" from German to English is: "Turning off Tesla's TAP is manual labor." This phrase metaphorically suggests that stopping Tesla requires effort and hands-on action.
These protesters make themselvces look like fools.
Thus far the local authorities seem less than effective.
@@snookmeister55 It was the local authorities that were opposing the factory since day 1.. I doubt they'll be of any help
@@harrydent8182 Half the residents (more than half of the voters) and none of the authorities is how I understand it.
Not as foolish as the 1% scumbags spending $150,000 for a truck.
Don't believe the documentation that's released by telsa xD the new Tesla firm building and the manufactur us sucking too much from the ground water in Germany . That's why they are protesting. I think
the police: we can't use water cannons here, we have to save water!
The goal of Disrupt Now is to disrupt. Not a very positive ultimate goal. How about joining a cause that aims to help people?
causes that help people don't pay the bills
Hey man, I live in Germany and I enjoy your show a lot. Very informative! However, the protestors aren't calling for a ban on private automobiles. They want the government to massively cut down it's spending on driving infrastructure (because Germany has the largest and one of the best maintained road networks in Europe) and to instead direct those funds to rail and biking infrastructure. Germany's rail system has become bit of a joke around Western Europe.
It is not a Capitalism v Communism fight as you portray it.
The thing is, EVs are better for the environment in Germany. They should be protesting car companies that make vehicles that spew CO2 and other pollution, and leak different oils, coolant, and gasoline. They are being counter-productive, IMO.
Dont try to change the subject with your bs , u thing we are blind and didn't see your people ran and attacked like animal zombies and burned powerlines and tesla cars . Just like their ancestors in 1936!!!!!
@@FLPhotoCatcherI think vehicles in Germany probably leak less than those in most countries. Part of the official roadworthiness test is to stand the vehicle for 30 minutes on a sheet of clean white tissue. If a drop of any liquid is found on the tissue the vehicle has failed the test and must be repaired before it can continue to be used.
Very telling that the EDEKA bottle recycling factory across the street is never mentioned and stays unharmed. Their bottle washing process consumes an awful 😞 lot of water 💦.
Are the bottles recycled by washing and re-using them or by the much less efficient process of melting them and using the glass or plastic to make new ones?
The protesters seem to be concerned with water, but not directly communicating the precise problem or solution. If Tesla is taking too much water, then specify the amount taken, needed etc.
There is NO (as in ZERO) water to spare on producing cars or other factory processes east of Berlin. People there have said that already well before the abhorrently thirsty first part of that factory was about to be built. Water situation hasn't changed east of Berlin, the first factory has however shown how much worse it is than even predicted.
The problem is that Tesla uses (and sources vary here) between 500,000 and 1.8 million cubic meters of water a year. This is roughly the same consumption as a small village with 10,000-40,000 inhabitants. For comparison: Grünheide has less than 8,000 inhabitants. Since that region of Germany has had trouble with droughts for the past few years, any additional amount of water that is consumed will be protested against.
Additionally, the wastewater of the Tesla factory had higher levels of nitrogen and phosphorus than allowed by regulations, which just damages the environment even more.
Tesla use half as much water as every other german auto-manufactor so they're just acting as leftist always do, without facts and full of feelings.
@@knickohr01 No. Tesla got *approval* for 1.8Mm^3 per year, but consumes *less than* half a million, of which a large part is for sanitary facilities for the 12500 employees. I don't know why they're exceeding nitrogen and phosphorus levels - those elements are typical problems with farms over-fertilizing fields causing harmful algae blooms in nearby waters... are the employees taking too many dumps during working hours? Nitrogen and phosphorus are typical of organic chemistry - not sure what processes in car production would cause excess of these. (And if it's the concentration that's the problem and not absolute amounts, we have the interesting situation that had Tesla used more of their 1.8Mm^3 allocation it might not have been an issue.)
The issue has been raised and resolved to the satisfaction of the government
It's not a forest if it doesn't have biodiversity
That one has, no matter how badly someone tries to report on it .... and it keeps the water table high, something that "journalist" didn't even mention, probably because they do not know what that's supposed to be, a "water table" ...?
@@manfredschmalbach9023 stimmt doch gar nicht, die Höhe des Grundwasserspiegels hat nichts mit der Vegeation zu tun!
Who is financing this attack ? This had nothing to do about the environment, more about slowing Tesla to help VW, BMW, Oil amd Unions.

Very smart, use diruptive elements for your advertisment 😅🙃😉

"Lay thrup" for future videos. :-) Good information as usual. I have some very challenging turns (apparently) that FSD doesn't currently do so well on. Can't wait to see if 12.4 solves those.
It’s hard enough to find time to take a vacation but how and why these protesters waste days/weeks and living in the forest is wild to me. I just don’t get it.
Good question 🤔 👍
Political backing.elon is seen as right wing
@@vengadesank6988 The center is right wing to these extremists.
Go, fool, blindly into the future then. Your corporate daddies will feed, clothe, and house you, and it's exactly this way that you'll never have to 'get it.' 👍🏾
That's just the problem. You're wondering how people can find time to take a vacation but you're also expectant of and benefitting from societal progress. Maybe you think progress happen naturally. Supernaturally? How do you think Americans got the weekend, or work-day breaks/lunch time, or workers compensation, etc? It didn't happen on vacation.
I've never been in a protest, but sure as hell respect demonstrations for what they are, and i don't take lightly those people who have sacrificed their jobs or even their lives on the line, to participate in making change. They gave their free time so that i can have some, and i guess i just think that's a great thing

He was once seen as a progressive by the left-wing. He said he was going to build a clean future with his EVs, power walls and solar roofs.

He has more dollars than sense, and all of the he's a genius yammering has given him a fat head.

Im waiting for ,,fully,,autonomous!!
It looks like Mercedes Benz is spending some black money in Germany
Wow, that ended abruptly.
FSD still has to be supervised by the driver, somewhat contradicting the name.
It should never be more than a Driver Assist funtion never FSD or Autopilot.
I agree, but that's not how Musk and his fanboys pitch it. I think the challenges of real FSD are far greater than we realize.
I’m certain plans for expansion will go on hold due to market conditions
Elon could have open the gigafactory in the motor valley in Italy and everybody would have been happy
Huge depreciation on cybertruck EV's.
What about the gigacasting? Is it out?
Ok, I'm confused. 8:00 [G.M. Supercruse has always been hands-free the entire time it's been on the market.] And Tesla STILL does not have Hands Free? Is there a difference between Self Driving and Hands free? Fully Autonomous? What am I missing?
Hands free as in no need to keep hands on the wheel, but still not fully autonomous - GM has always used a driver monitoring camera since they launched Super Cruise, but Tesla has only implemented camera monitoring fairly recently
I wonder why he didn't build in Poland? I don't think there would have been as much red tape.
Spain, Slovakia or Czechia would probably make more sense. A long history in those countries of making good cars, while having lower labour costs.
Seems like competitors seating public opinion.... possibly Mercedes, BMW, Mini, Volkswagen and other competitors inciting riots...?
Oh Noooo! They would never do that!! 🤣
Probably all these companies had some sort of "disruption" by similar idiots.
This is just the state of Germany right now, spoiled kids with rich parents protesting for mass migration, climate regulations, anticapitalism or whatever.
Elon really invested into the German madness.
He should at least built his factory not so close to Berlin, as these guys can only use public transport.
Also Mini is part of BMW.
Why incite them when you can just pay them like a mercenary army of hired thugs.. they clearly don't have jobs to worry about.
Nope. It's just the usual communist Antifa thugs. Before Musk bought Twitter, the same ones celebrated him like Jesus for destroying the evil capitalist German automakers with his electric cars. But since he bought Twitter became 'literally Hitler' for those Antifa thugs.
If Tesla pulled out of Germany wouldn’t they be the cause then what??
Isn’t there a no resale policy for the cyber truck the first year?
who is paying for and organizing this?
Mr Musk and Tesla by wanting to enlarge an already horrendously thirsty factory in the middle of an area that struggled ever since with drinking water supplies ....
@@manfredschmalbach9023 Thirsty hmm then why do tesla use half as much water per car made than every other german manufactor? Spew your ignorant bullshit somewhere else.
@@manfredschmalbach9023 That's a weird way to say the German auto industry.

But I thought the approval for Cruise was limited to certain roads only...
Always thought building a base in the north was stupid even if it was simpler then elsewhere , kinda like baseing your new car company near Detroit. There is a reason why the south is full of production and the north isn't . Hopefully, if they plan to expand in europe they go where the most of the german and french companies did , far less hassle and cheaper labor.
Here the thing Germany have planted these trees to be harvest the Haven planted these trees to be a forest.
"Melborne" should have been spelt "Melbourne" - don't want to upset Victorian's in Australia with their capital city name.
I'm really impressed with how you covered the protests here. Very fair. You actually described the issue as far as you could tell, and even defined what demonstrations are for, very objectively. A typical Tesla fan channel would describe this from a 'my team vs their team' bullshh perspective- which is the opposite of perspective, obviously. When stanning for a corporation like Mac vs PC to the extent that it changes your cultural politics and worldview (scarily something that's happening more and more often) then you've kind of lost the ability to discern truth.
Nice work. Liked, commented, subbed 👏🏽🍻

Probably a little more attention on spelling. The Spelling of Victoria in Australia’s capital is Melbourne. 😏
That village is a full 5km (3.1 miles) away from giga Berlin. Why does their opinion matter at all?

Renjie and Tom ZHU should be pronounced JU. See pinyin romanization of Mandarin for reference.
Public transit isn't communism vs capitalism. Just from a logistics standpoint you can move a lot more people in a lot less space with a train. It's not like cars don't require massive public expenditure, roads are not at all cheap and because they spread everything out to make room for roads and parking lots you end up building more of them.
You're asking the wrong question. The most importing thing to know is, "Who is funding this group and organizing them?"
At one point I thought they got some funding from VW.

Serve Elon right he should have set up in the UK ! The EU and Germany are ultra progressive!
Tesla should be in the UK!!!!
UK leaving the EU is too much of a risk, the European gigafactory is for the EU market, setting up factory outside the EU is like slapping EU in the face and expecting to sell cars to them afterwards. You never know what the Tories deal would be back when he is planning the factory.
If there is no deal he might as well as have set up another factory in Asia and export to the EU
To bad they can’t pick up the factory and leave then this crap will stop
Brexit was like shooting yourself in the foot.
Never build a factory in Germany
Never make business in or near woke states. Berlin is allergic to making money, but Berlin isn't Germany.

My guess is Bidens Puppet Strings
I think electric vehicles is a great thing but wow $150,000 for the pickup?
Everyone starts with the high level first because it’s most profitable then it gets cheaper
The best take on these kinds of "protestors" was captured in a meme Elon posted a while back. A protestor claims to want to save the environment/poor people/polar bears/whatever. The person listening says "be honest". She says "I'm being honest". He stares at her and repeats "be honest". She finally confesses: "I want communism".
That meme is the truest, most concise description of 80% of protestors in every protest movement. The vast majority of those people don't actually give a shit about the thing they pretend to care about. They're just cosplaying in their communist revolutionary messiah world savior hero fantasy.
Elon should have built the factory in the UK. Said this four years ago.
yeah he should have, after all it's clear that the UK doesn't give a flying eff about their environment, see the shite that gets dumped into their drinking water supply
Brexit was much of the reason it wasn't in the UK.
@@StormyDogAbout 10 years ago Ford moved its factory making the Transit van from the UK (which was at the time a member of the EU) to Turkey (which is not a member of the EU). The EU gave Ford some financial assistance to do this.

Teslas the best job gig going in Germany. 🤔 Your life blood ,grow up . Tesla is the safest cleanest most reliable brand in automotive history.
Germany could reduce it's population density. That would the most effective and quickest way of reducing it's impact on the environment. Oh but your left wing politicians invited in millions of migrants, that was a great idea, wasn't it? Now I'm sure they are mostly lovely people, but the problem is you've made your environmental problems worse. Now there are debates about the materials used in Tesla's but there are othe huge improvements in technology, way ahead of other companies in the auto industry. For Germany to be as wealthy a country as it is, it has to have a good amount of capitalism itself. And, as already observed, where are the protests at Mercedes and BMW? One then has to conclude that the protests really have more to do with AMERICAN capitalism. I like the German people, but I have noticed that many never miss an opportunity to make a dig at the United States whenever possible. It’s a jealousy thing, I think.
No, continental European countries are much more socialist in their views than English speaking countries
Germany itself produced Karl Marx and the SDU party is the oldest left wing party in Europe.
On a left vs right wing economy spectrum the German average is simply further on the left vs countries like USA UK Australia etc.
Germans are not jealous of America, they don’t understand why Americans are giving up free govt healthcare, education , state pension etc. since it’s seen as a basic human right there
We're no longer the rich country you think we are, leftie politics are steadily destroying our wealth, much like California...
Wtf is wrong with those people
Nearly ten minutes of "journalism" surrounding the Tesla-Grünheide protests, and the abhorrent water-grab happening and still about to increase in an already draught-plagued area which is fuelling the protest weren't even mentioned in any even halfway coherent context - that is *_exactly_* the soil off which protests like these emerge. Why do You do these clips at all when muting everything that's worth knowing then?
Shouldn't the protest then focus on the politicians and governing bodies that approved 4x what Tesla actually uses, and also look at the *big* consumers in the region and ask if they are doing anything to minimize water usage?
@@koma-k Looking at the outcomes aka the forest felled and the actual water actually taken out: no - that's absoeffinglutely TESLA that''s _doing_ it, so their doing had to be stopped no matter how. Looking at the political way to the water disaster in this region: yes. Problem is, however, like everywhere, that sellout politicians can not easily be removed and their criminally corrupt decisions are called "politics" instead of "instantly jailworthy crime against their constituents". And removing them "seventies style" or "eighties style" came regrettably out of fashion, so the healthy angst a democraticly elected politician should have nonetheless their "elected" state also got out of fashion, which made the mafia somewhat impertinently bold.
If water is the problem why not shut down the coal mine down the road that uses more than an order of magnitude more water? Why not shut down the far more water greedy fossil fuel car factories? Why shut down the company that uses the least water and makes vehicles that don't pollute your air? You'd rather suck in the deadly fumes from coal, VW diesel gate, BMW and Mercedes. Good idea.
@@StormyDog That's an easy one. Some pitifully imbecile polit-impostors shut down our gas supply even before the act of terrorism happened that damaged one of the most important pipelines that used to guarantee us the supply of cheap, clean natural gas we needed to produce all that electric energy everybody needed even before that silly, ungreen way of transportation started to grab whatever it could in terms of current. So, the *_Greens_* of all parties made coal once again the basic means of production for electric current, after they stopped nuclear a couple years ago AND now also stopped the clean gasfired electric powerplants by silly, unnecessary economic self-harming for even sillier reasons.
This is very odd. German automakers funding this nonsense maybe?
Activists?? Terrorists!!
Kinda refreshing to see someone with some much money not able to stop some activists 😂😂😂 these people are not gonna be stopped
Soft and weak leftist reactionary behavior. This demonstrates a loose tribal behavior against change in general. Not a rational reaction to progress, more of a "we do not control or understand this, so it must be stopped, or at least slowed". Sometimes a younger crowd will oppose anything that is a change, not knowing any better. It might also be a grasp or attempt for the group to appear relevant and progressive.
Communism vs Capitalism LOL
After the initial Revolutionary Period (1917-1921), Lenin introduced the New Economic Policy, which reintroduced some market mechanisms and private enterprise to stabilize the economy. When Joseph Stalin came to power (1928-1934), he initiated the first Five-Year Plan, aiming for rapid industrialization and collectivization of agriculture. While these policies were in line with Marxist-Leninist theory, the methods used were often harsh and authoritarian.
After these initial periods, Stalin's rule increasingly deviated from communist ideals. By the late 1930s, Stalin had consolidated power and established a totalitarian regime characterized by extensive state control, political repression, purges, and a personality cult.
So for the last 84 years, we've not seen anything actually "communist" out of Russia, because it was taken over by fascist dictators, you're repeating a myth that has worked its way into the culture because of people mis defining words and re-writing history. - now people hear communism and just think bad (which, maybe it is - that's not my point) it's that the thing you are referencing wasn't communism except in name and nothing going on here in Germany is in any way related to the political systems of Russia between 1917 and 1934.
People, seemingly misguided if you ask me, are protesting the expansion of a factor near them - I wouldn't be surprised if it was shadow-funded by oil companies like the tea party was, but once again - there's no communism in the argument at all.
I smell George Soros
