I’ve spent long summer holidays back in the early 80’s riding up and down on that shunter , Elwyn the shunter RIP and thankyou for letting me on your shunter & sharing your sandwich ❤️🙏
Yep, that's Holyhead alright! Don't think I've ever been there when it wasn't raining! Great shots as always John. You must have one of the best video collections in the UK
Believe it or not I have tried both these ideas. As yet I have not found a good enough 3D conversion program, it just makes the video look further back from the screen. As for converting to HD, I am not convinced that the upscaling process is good enough. For now I will stick with these 16.9 crops from full screen 4.3 originals. If things change though, who knows?
Always was. Used to go forth and back a few times a year in the late eighties until 1991. Often left London in fine weather, changed loco at Crewe and gradually the weather closed in.. Always raining as if to let you know that was what you could expect when got off the ferry in Dun Laoighre

Lol. I did go couple years ago and it was a nice hot day? :)
I love the trains of those years, class 47 and Mark II greeting from Argentina

first time I see it in daylight as my 1990s sailings were always at night :)
Thanks for the great feedback, I will soon be unable to leave this room as my head will no longer fit through the door :o)
Nice one Iwonder if you are going to release these videos in Blue ray HD or with the rise in popularity of 3D TVs do these in 3D
Very interesting old video
Atrocious weather there was'nt it?
