A CINEMATIC GOODBYE TO AN ICON - 2024 AUDI R8 V10 PERFORMANCE - Why did Audi end their halo car?

- So I find myself in Tatra Mountains, which is a place I have visited so many times in the last 15 years, and somehow this one is one of the more emotional shoots. I thought I’d write a little longer caption and share my thoughtgs with you all, although the IG character limit is way to short.
You see, with me was this lovely Florett silver 2024 Audi R8 V10 Performance quattro. The R8 in general is a car that has been so important for Audi in the past 20 years since the Le Mans concept in 2003. This design right here may be 9 years old by now, but still everybody are looking. Everybody. Small kids are pulling their parents hands, when the first HEAR the R8 approach from far, and then they see it. I’ve spent two days with this car now and I almost forgot what a cult car this is. For example I drove passed a school as I finished my sunrise shoot, and probably over 100 teens took our their phones to snap a photo, like they saw an UFO.
And when I see all this, I get so emotional and sad. Because this is what a proper car is. This right here. The sound, the looks, the quality, and the Audi rings in the front. This car put Audi on the map for real. And it should never ever be discontinued. The people that care about this car at Audi, should have done everything in their power to keep this model running. Make a 3rd generation, put a hybrid in it, or do whatever you can to at least keep it in production a few years more. But for God sake, dont discountinue it! It’s just wrong.
How much this car means to so many people, it should be kept alive. And this is coming from a person whos been in the game for soon two decades. That’s just my two cents. Thank you

Is such a sad time with the total commitment to soulless super heavy electric cars. A true icon lost. But what a film to go out on. Stunning mate, and at least we were alive to see these times 💯💯🤝

Don’t you just love the sound it makes.
How could you be in love with such a beautiful sounding thing and then drive an electric equivalent with just tyre and wind noise and a pathetic whining noise, instead of that sonorous V10.
Please God stop this dirty EV madness and bring us hydrogen to power internal combustion.
We are being lied to .
The carbon emissions created by the manufacture of EV is enormous, far higher than an internal combustion car .
The EV arrives on the road with a deficit and only begins to be green after about 90,000 miles.
And then you have the huge weight of these things, at least 20% heavier then it’s petrol equivalent, maybe 25%
They are damaging the roads they are damaging car parks and people who get struck by them.
More weight means fatter tyres, means bigger brakes, means more mass when there is a collision, means far more expensive repairs after a crash, which means higher insurance premiums.
People are trying to tell me that one of these is good for me and for the planet? - No. no they are absolutely not.
Things like this only happen in a mad and crazy world!!

While I am excited to buy an EV some day, I wish they can find a way to keep cars like this on the road without drowning us all in the rising seas.
The R8 will be greatly missed. :(
Unfortunately, this is the result of eco-terrorists and communists being voted in power almost everywhere.
Once upon a time, the RS4, M3 and C63 all had NA V8s.
You do realize the world is being cooked alive as we speak, right? It's not safe to keep pumping these gasses into the atmosphere. As much as I want these sounds too, they're going to kill us all if we don't stop them or at least change what powers them.
No doubt the next halo car will be silent! Good old EV!
