The crazy thing is people have always known this style is good (singed proxy, garen/udyr/jax proxy, etc. is a thing since forever), but league and the players are SO strict on this mentality of honorable laning that it never gets much attention and then they even introduced crazy bounty system that made it into Bausens Law when it was already very powerful. Goofy ass balance team.

They do it because they don't like his playstyle, not because it's a problem for the game. Nobody else successfully plays like that so it's not an issue. It's more of a complex of them saying "we forbid every unconventional way of playing because it undermines our authority"

@@Wavinto I mean kinda? You can't lie that some of the nerfs aren't warranted. His strategies he uses are broken sometimes, like the old sion before korea nerfs. That was legit broken, he was 1-2 tapping turrets in passive late game, with little counterplay. Did they nerf it specifically because he popularized the strategy sure, but it's not like he is being nerfed for no reason.

It really is funny how every time a fan plays against Baus using his tactics, he claps them in any and every elo
The new bounty system will be so much healthier for the game though. I main Qiyana and the amount of times I will pick up a few early kills but give a ton of cs mid, I end up with a 250+ bounty when in reality I am equal in gold. If I die in lane now, I'm immediately like 500-1k gold behind because the enemy laner got my bounty plus increases the cs diff.
Then farm more then you kill-hunt? Always gotta weigh in, the cs you lose vs the gold gained for a potential kill. If the wave-state, doesn´t allow roaming? You don´t roam, ever.

Id much rather proxxy and ignore my top laner if they pick a counterpick than actually have fun laning because if i die once the game is over. Doing this change while not addressing the much bigger issue that is the counterpick and freezing lanes meta is gonna force even more people out of top lane.

@@Kalsimir its more that baus's lpaystyle highlights an issue with the bounty system. it should always have been based off gold rather than kills esecially when plating and void grubs were introduced get your gold however you like but its only fair your worth as much as the enemy carries also if the enemy or someone gets 10 KILLS on someone worth nothign or he doesnt farm well other than kill he will be worth less this change ensures that the truly strongest in your team is the one worth the most

Baus is probably the smartest League Players of all time. He created an entirely new way to play the game through deciphering the entire game system and playing to exploit each aspect. The Dev Team has consistently needed to update the game around ideas he publicized. His Micro is solid, his Macro is really nice, but his Map Awareness sometimes struggles. People don't just hit Challenger by being really good at a few things, they master their gameplay, but only Baus has ever mastered the game as a whole. Maybe this is glaze, but like, there isn't a player as nerfed as Baus even in the Pro Scene. Baus' playstyle is so interesting and the fact that he got away with it this long is WILD
Riot isn't even being subtle anymore. They straight up target nerfing Baus
slowly making them actually balance their own game and realize their mistakes, wild work

legit, Baus is pretty much the only player I have ever seen who actually makes this style work consistently, I dont know if its worth the effort they put in to nerf it
he's one of the biggest league streamers out there, and he's mentioned he can message riot directly when the system flags him for inting when he's got 15+ deaths in a game (when in reality he's still TRYING to win the game, but he's either constantly targeted by stream snipers/fanbois or he's abusing the bounty system that theyre directly going to nerf/change) so its not that surprising how big of an influence he is on the more obscure mechanics/macro in the game. he's got some of the best understandings of how the game works on a fundamental level.

He figured out how to abuse the game system and mechanics and sometimes it gives unfair advantage. Baus has insane presence in game community rn.

I'm moderately certain this was already done before. I distinctly remember people complaining the game ended up being a coinflip of who could close while they were ahead before the next bounty swung everything around.
Riot is killing an entire playstyle that actually involves skill like managing waves, good death timings, knowledge about scaling and matchups to enforce the fucking ooga ooga playstyle of "i see enemy, i kill, i win game"
They are nerfing an intentionally uninteractive playstyle that only works with like a couple champs? This is not an ooga booga change. This is changing it so that the actual strong players have bounties which makes the game LESS snowbally. Yes it's smart but it's a manipulation of the game mechanics in an unintended way, so it makes sense they would change it.
Maybe they can actually buff sion to be relevant in some capacity now

Riot can never really know how a champion will optimally be played 2 years after his release because so many players will dedicate a lot of time and energy to theory craft and perfect crazy stuff around the champion they do love! TheBauffs is one of them with Sion.
When you love a champion you try to make it work "no matter what". That’s the beauty of league.

Regarding the bounty system: I really hope they don't include very specific gold incomes into this equations. For example TF passive or Pykes gold share. Otherwise this would tremendously nerf those champions, because they are currently balanced to have (or give their team) than their opponent has at their disposal. IF this is included, you would simply quicker get a bounty on yourself or just reduce the bounty on the enemies due to that.

I do think Baus is kind of an inter, but not for the reason many people share.
9 times out of 10 he'll just do a cocky recall in the open and die for it rather than walking to safety,
or his teammates will blow 5 flashes saving him and he just goes back in with 1 HP for the content or ego.
To each their own but it's one of the things that ruins my experience watching him personally, which I hate because he's genuinely entertaining to watch.
imo its not ego or for content, hes just greedy and always wants to recall as fast as possible so he doesnt walk as far away as he should, or goes back in fights to try to get an extra kill when he should leave.

Recall timings are super important. The extra 5 seconds spent walking to safety is 5 seconds the enemy has to shove to turret, losing you farm. Baus HATES losing farm.
@@kevin55442 I know recall timings are important but it seems counter-intuitive when you're getting your back canceled and then waiting out a death timer. A lot of the time he's proxying anyway so he has all the time in the world to catch the wave
He just plays for the maximun value of every play which ends up getting him killed in a silly way a lot of the times
