It’s because nba values height over athleticism. In football height becomes a liability after a certain point… also basketball only 5 positions and football 22 so of course more people would transfer over
Body type. That’s what it comes down to. NBA players are naturally 6’6 or taller skyscrapers. You CANNOT add 15-20 pounds on muscle mass on that frame without steroids. NBA players too skinny and bodies not made for impact over and over.
Its stupid to try to take out the "we are tougher than you aspect in Football compared to BBall. One of the NBA best Enforcers/Defenders (Draymond Green) was out there gettin abused by a lil cornerback. Fella looked like he was gonna turn in his pads and join the school band
Shaq would get put on roller skates if he played NG in the NFL...Hes giving up too much leverage. A 6'3 NFL guard would absolutely forklift Shaq out of the A gap.
The NBA is way too soft. A player gets undercut by the hoop and he hits the hardwood, hold his back and head and rolls around for 3 minutes while the refs review the footage to see what kinda foul it is, and all his teammates stand around him and extend a hand while he keeps rolling. I feel like guys like Jalen Brunson, and some of the shorter more explosive nba players could be ball carriers or something like that. I feel like a 6’4 Russ Westbrook could have played linebacker if he had a little more weight on him and been an all pro because of speed length and aggressiveness. Also high school football is not college football or even close to the NFL
Antonio Gates did NOT play college Football. After a season he became a pro bowl Tight End. Bo Jackson, Deion, Moss, Jim Brown, Jimmy Graham, Tony Gonzalez, were all multi or duel sport athletes, & their best sport was Football. Jim Thorpe, Bob Hayes, & Jackie Robinson were duel or multi sport athletes; and their best sport was Track & Field, followed by Football. Athleticism translates best to Football.
You’re fundamentally wrong. The manner in which that athleticism is applied are not even related. NBA players have no idea how to play with leverage. They’re all too tall. Then there is the level of coordination it takes to actually execute a play or defend. Now factor in the actual violence, and film study.
@@gen3kali877 Then why did Antonio Gates dominate the NFL by year Two, after playing NO College Football? Why did Jimmy Graham dominate the NFL by year Two after ONLY ONE season of College Football? The answer is that their raw athleticism translated best to Football. Nate Robinson, the journeyman NBA slam dunk champion, was actually a better Football player. Charlie Ward the not quite All Star NBA guard was the Heisman Trophy winner and would’ve been a better Football player, if owners weren’t so close minded. All that crap about leverage and coordination doesn’t apply to someone athletic enough to play high level Basketball. It’s just that some Nate Robinson type might actually be an even better Football player, because raw athleticism translates directly in Football. Why do think Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson, two completely different athletes were better in Football? Drew Henson couldn’t hit minor league Triple A level Pitching; but his Junior season he threw 16 TDs to 4 Interceptions and Michigan were the favorites to win the Big Ten had he played his best sport in 2001?
6’6 guys would get broken in half
If Doc Rivers was coach and GM on an NFL team, Austin would make the team and get a really nice contract.
What people are not talking about are those NBA players body will have to change to fit football

NBA players aren't better athletes. They are, however, much more unique athletes than NFL players.

Id pay good money to watch a reality TV show where NBA players try to tackle Derrick Henry or block Aaron Donald😂
I would love to see them try to guard any player in the nba lol
@@jc0257 I mean, sure but it would not be as funny as a basketball player getting destroyed by TJ Watt

Dan doesn't know anything about playing any sports. So there is that. Ross played. Dan watched.
