1:10:45 I guess Mandy was suppose to die there, maybe some "monster" made her "bleed" and Alan changed it so she picked herself while knitting this monster of a blanket
i feel like the jumpscares don't have the purpose to ... jumpscare? like yeah, some are placed in a part of tension where you can get startled easier, but since most of them are so quick and are placed in situation when there isnt much sense of danger or even a warning beforehand (like suspense music in other media that uses jumpscares), it feels more like a warning or an indicator for "supernatural stuff time" it can get annoying but at least from me (and i also hate jumpscares) it doesnt feel as annoying as RE7 for example
watching this 10 minutes before joe streams to catch up yep yep ...just started, what's the counter? oh my god what a halloween, my story came 2 days late where a late night bike ride almost made my phone flew out of my pocket with zero reason
It was a pretty big ah-ha moment for me bc I always thought his recounts of perfectly normal small town behavior was of a someone who didn't have four fucking kids. When he said he home schooled I was like no shit, of course he does that makes perfect sense then lol.
@R1L3D_G1T basically he's saying Joe's perspective of "typical adult human behaviour" is slightly skewed since he does not have a lot of the community presence most parents have, or would have if they also had 4 kids. He holds the parents to the same standard as his kids, and that glass breaks for him every time he goes outside, rather than just lowering his standard like most of us do with crazy small townies.
He thinks that it is extremely one-note in its themes and messaging of "revenge bad." Revenge being bad is an extremely common theme in storytelling; that doesn't mean it's a bad theme to explore, but it needs to be explored well, with interest and nuance. Especially when the setting is a modern one with the kinds of characters TLoU has, who likely grew up with and are well acquainted with stories and messaging that revenge is bad, and who can add their own perspectives on justifying their revenge to form a more interesting narrative. Instead, though, it just feels like nothing other than "revenge bad, revenge bad, revenge bad" without any kind of nuance or interesting exploration of the journeys and sensibilities around revenge. This isn't my personal opinion; I haven't played the game, it's just me paraphrasing what I've heard Joe express. Hopefully I captured his thoughts accurately.
@@godminnette2 I don't think it provides any messages or tells you what to feel about revenge in the end or to Love Abby or whatever. It just lets you explore themes of violence safely and tells you facts like violence always has a cost and the game shows you different perspectives and how you feel about things is not decided by the director of the game but by the player in this case which is different from the first game which is partly why I love part 2

sorry for the late reply but the jumpscares happen when scratch is rewriting the story in the manuscript.
Halloween had a final scare for me (more Starfield talk). Still shocking how good this game is.
God I love Ahti so much.
