This is gonna be a long post. And it's prob gonna be rambly, but I'll try my best not to be. ------- There are so many different variables as to why multiplayer gaming, actually online in general, is getting worse. Gaming is an entertainment TITAN. The industry makes and costs so much money it's not even funny. But that's precisely the main reason WHY gaming kinda sucks nowadays: THE COST. When they nailed these, they tried to capitalize and make the best profit. AND THEY DID. The gaming industry was BOOMING. But by '09, those very same games that set industry standards, like Halo and Grand Theft Auto, had millions upon millions of dollars put into them and they were lucky to make back those funds. While on the topic of money and funding: Graphics. Believe what you want, but graphics is the puller for a lot of games. Remember when mo cap was getting big and textures got better and we thought that junk looked like real life when 360 and PS3 came out?! Expensive as FREAK. And the costs only went up. If they cost millions back then, I'll let your imagination run wild on how much a game like UC4 cost. Money and funding is a big point in why gaming has derailed from it's original goal. And that's how it is sometimes if not a lot of the times with these companies. They're passion just isn't enough to drive them anymore. Another thing (and possibly the last for this post): The consumers. Now you would think with as much shit that's said and read over the internet about devs being crappy or stuff like that, we'd see a change in the industry, right? WRONG. We're a vocal minority. In most cases anyways... The average consumer just sees: "Oh, new COD? Bet. Ring me up real quick." And that's crappy, but that's usually the case. If you try to have a critical conversation with the casual gamer and break down why a game is actually trash they'll prob be like "Oh, really? That's crazy." and still play it anyways. Why? They don't care nor do they notice half the shit we bitch about. And this will never change. Only way this will change is if we see a resurgence of some sort of creativity and reckless risk-taking from bigger companies. Indie devs aren't enough because they can't move numbers. PUBG was an exception to the rule, as there always is. There are some indie devs that strike gold, but they fall flat in the long run *see Outlast lmfao*. If we get a bigger company like Sony or Microsoft (Nintendo is just being Nintendo. lmfao) PUSH for new projects and game mechanics and systems and engines, we'd see better titles and more quality products. But that'd cost more money than just saying "Hey, make another G.O.W. Same engine too! Oh, and just use the same characters, too." I mean hey, that's business 101. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And clearly, they're making too much money to care. And consumers aren't doing a damn thing about it cuz they still buy the shit anyways. Anyways TL;DR: Stop buying trash and supporting trash and we won't receive trash.
really don't know why i read that but you sir are absolutely right. Gaming is very consumer based so when little kiddies ask there moms and dads to buy them call of duty that's just it that is all they want to play until the next one and they just eat that dookie up like there is no tomorrow.
I guarantee you anything that comes out that's innovative and new you'll call it broken. You guys (the gaming community) have zero patients for innovation. -why does it need a day one patch BROKEN. -Why is the fps dropping TRASH -Why is there no multiplayer GABBAGE. -I shouldn't have to pay for this extra content GREEDY BASTARDS.
I'm guilty in most cases. But aren't most games that come out nowadays NOT innovative and STILL BROKEN? And if I don't like something, I don't buy it. Besides, that doesn't defeat the fact that a lot of older games we're talking about didn't have these problems. And isn't this entire video based around MULTIPLAYER games? If it has no multiplayer, why u bringing it up?
True shouldn't have brought up single player only games. But what you said is your answer. Games back then didn't have this problems cause they were a third of the games now today. When I seen that Batman arkham knight was 73 GB and arkham asylum was 15 GB on ps3 that should tell you everything.
As for innovation Ubisoft that's all that needs to be said. They do everything different and get shitted on. Me personally have never played a bad Ubisoft game and never had a problem with em either. ( and I have played alot of Ubisoft games)
The last fun experience in multiplayer I had was the Red Dead Redemption multiplayer. That shit held me for about 3 years. I didn't like GTA V multiplayer cuz it was basically felt like an isolated multiplayer unless you playing friends
Single player > Multiplayer not even a debate. Also the most I had fun on a MP was bf3 I've played that on the ps3 on hours with friends and by myself. the maps from bf3 are great something bf4 barely has bf1 ones are alright. I hope the next battlefield is as good if not better
Honestly, I've playing Siege since Blackbeard & Valkyrie came out. I love Siege but in order to get the full experience you need a team to grow with. If you want people to play with, reach out to your audience or try to make friends in game chat, it might be rare but you can find surprisingly less toxic people online. Depending on how year 3 of this game starts off, I might stick with it.
The last amazing multiplayer experiences were Halo 3 and Gears of war 1-3. Maybe in just getting older but no mp games captivate me like those games did. Easy 800+ hours for each but nowadays battlefront 1 was the closest with only 200.
Great message, didn't really grow back in ps2 days but my uncles did,and man they talk about those days like it was the golden age in gaming.Only multi 's i play is injustice 2 and tekken 7.Tekken 7 multilayer's is GODLY,but in injustice 2 %60 of the time your fighting spammers
single player will always be king! Multiplayer games will never compare, I've realized a lot of these people who play a lot of multiplayer games, are not real gamers.
youngdefiant Yeah its shame when you see your friends on Steam have played 5000 hours on CS GO and PUBG and never seem to care about singleplayer games
Honestly I think a huge reason is people being subconsciously blinded by nostalgia. They can't help but like older games that they know well better than newer ones. These microtransactions are still a real killer tho. Also devs really are pretty uncreative these days, but that also has to do with people naturally not liking change. We just need a dev to come in and shake up the game like Modern Warfare did, changed the whole multiplayer game up
Nah it's not just nostalgia. I remember back in the day my parents bought my games and I didn't have to worry about it being broken and and it actually being fun. Now a days for me I treat buying a video like I would if I was buying a car because u can't trust these devs anymore
Your standards were probably lower back then. I used to love Fable TLC till I replayed it a couple of years back. There's a reason why kids are still eating up games nowadays and it's the same reason you feel like games back then were all good.
Gaming is getting stale. I barely play any games. I try replay old games but even that doesn't really get me hooked. I play a game that I know I'm going to complete easily and slowly but surely it gets repetitive and boring. Not saying the game is terrible but its just that feeling you feel bored of seeing the same thing. I don't know what it is, maybe we're getting old for games or because we are busy doing different things we don't have time to play games like we usually do.
Not just that. What fun is a game where whether or not you kill your opponent is more decided by chance than by actual skill and player accuracy??? Too many shooters do not even allow for perfect headshots based on true aiming anymore. They all tend to add an element of chance to your bullet. Even worse, they then add artificial aim-assists to compensate just a little bit. It's beyond pathetic if you really understand how this casualisation of gaming is destroying the actual fun of skilful gaming..
PHeMoX I mainly play Halo 5 and Gears 4 for competitive mp. The most causal shooter I currently play is BF4 ( I prefer it to BF1). I feel in those games I don’t win or lose due to simple chance. I have to time my shots and movement in Halo and Gears, and fight for power weapons, no perks also. While in BF4, teamplay is still present, and recoil management is essential. I stopped playing Titanfall 2 because of how random the game was, and it felt dumbed down compared to Titanfall 1. I stopped playing BF1 because of all the noob guns, easy ranged kills and reduced recoil management. I was even good at both Titanfall 2 (1.4 KD) and BF1 (1.3KD), but casualness and no emphasis on balance in both games bored me. The worst offenders of being noob friendly are the recent Battlefront games. Weapons, abilities and heroes, are about as balanced as a seesaw with an elephant on one end and 2 dozen mice on the other. No teamplay, no ammo management, no strategy..... I remember the days of a good fair casual shooter and competitive shooters. Now the competitive shooters are apparently too hard for the low skill masses. Meanwhile people play the PvP of COD and Destiny and complain about balance in games that aren’t designed around being balanced.
MrReyno Tanks you are right star wars and cod all do that... Halo 5 and gears and not as causal as those especially gears u will get destroyed until u learn how to play and I'm glad they kept it that way and didn't dumb it down
I don't know if it's just me or not, but I don't find online multiplayer shooters that much fun anymore unless I'm playing with friends. I used to be able to play them by myself no problem back 5+ years ago.
You think you're disappointed about modern shooters? Man you have no idea how bad it is now. I wish these kids could know but the sad part is they can and won't because if something isn't popular nobody wants to try it. Everyone is mindless.
Doomreb Pretty much, can’t believe Mario is about to take game of the year, it’s a kids game... I honestly don’t understand all the grown men hyping about it when years of effort are going into the masterpieces like AC Origins and such which have way better graphics and gameplay
Pedro Martinez, You're telling me. You should hear the guys in the gamestop I go to. They don't play anything but Mario and stuff like that. Never played a shooter, never played DOOM or Wolfenstein. Telling me to check out Arms.
Shooters in general are deteriorating. People expectations are getting lower and in turn, the qualities of games are going down as well. Every once in a while we'll get jewels like Persona 5, Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, etc. And thats all we can hope for.
Theory: Online games aren't really getting worse, gamers are just growing up and getting spoiled and unimpressed with games compared to when they were kids
Actually, they really haven't. It's just a lot of ideas don't make it past the drawing board because publishers don't risk the money. That's why you see slavish copies of successful MMOs or multiplayer games like COD. It has nothing to do with 'no more original ideas'. I also have to disagree with the idea that COD is 'fun with friends'. It's crap even with friends, but at least your friends will probably be playing it. It's like the GTA of shooters. Even when you literally do nothing but improve the graphics (say from GTA:San Andreas to GTA:4), provide worse missions and the least interesting main character ever, people will still get it. Don't get me wrong, I loved GTA 5, but isn't that game from a gameplay perspective just exactly the same when we ignore the rest?? It has to do with publishers refusing to take some risks man. As for 'no more original ideas' I've got one for you right here; what if GTA would allow you to form, recruit and train your own gangs?? What if it required you to take over sectors of the cities you'd be playing in? Owning the sector means less instant heat, more income from companies, houses, garages you own etc. Now imagine all of that in context of a multiplayer pvp experience. That would be rad! As much as I love GTA Online for the crazy stuff you can do, it's still that 'you're in the singleplayer map with a few human players added' type of deal that feels empty and pointless as fuck. I do get even a super big super awesome game like GTA 5 needs to make concessions somewhere, but I think the whole multiplayer aspect could have been done a thousand times better. Make the stuff a persistent world in which you fight for street turf. It would instantly add purpose to the pvp aspect. Allow players to take over the various businesses, whether through buying them, extortion and so on. But give more purpose to competition in a multiplayer environment. Hate to tell you this, but the pay-to-win-with-sharkcards racing is GTA Online was boring as fuck. Same goes for the go to random spot A and kill 30 enemies. Thats the type of stuff that should instantly show you a game fucked up. Think of the towers in Far Cry or Assassin's Creed or Shadow of Mordor. That type of 'it's random and it's copy and pasted but we're going to pretend you don't notice' type of stuff is what is messing up most open-world-ish games. The no-effort level design and spray-and-pray gameplay of modern COD games is what ruins those. Nah, solving the 'ruining out of ideas' thing is as simple as realising what makes current games so bad and stop hiding behind what is really just a poor excuse.
PHeMoX bro they went to space for call of duty , trust me they have lol I like your ideas but those aren’t gameplay changes necessarily . Last gen things like halo gears killzone cod were all new(ish) fresh and exciting same with most series but now we are 6,7 games into that series and it’s gotten boring so they try changing it and by doing so they ruin what made us love it originally. It’s really a no win situation . and even when they try something new it’s not really new , it’s just stolen ideas from other franchise that they try implementing it into theirs
Great video, I'm in the same boat. Haven't played anything that's grabbed me and hasn't let me go like old Halo did. Most of my gaming now is single player and co-op.
@TheGamer2323 It sounds like it hurts when you laugh, like your lungs are in so much pain. Sounds like you're a cigarette smoker lol nice videos btw. Also The Last Of Us online is what I'm still playing(as far as shooters go)
I have never really been Into shooters, especially the online part, I guess Im just a one In a million though. But I did however use to enjoy a good ole coach buddy other known as co-op mode. But even than the story AND missions has to be good to.And what I by that Is that Instead JUST stooting your way though every damn level, you would also have to somewhat use your head to think way out and the game would put you and your teammate In different places & or different situations than later yall meet or something along those lines. I could go on & on but fam this post long haha but an example of what I was talking about up above you could probably look at that new game EAs making. Also when I was younger my T-jones brought this game at a yard sale, me and my cuz used to play for days. I believe It was called TimeSplitters, Damn story mode was fun.
I so feel you man just feel like online games are just the same nowadays. I haven’t had so much fun playing an online game in years and I need that feeling back :(
You’re so right. Multiplayer games these days can’t keep me interested for years at a time anymore. All I really play multiplayer wise in the past year have been Remasters, Overwatch, and the same games I’ve been playing since back then. Halo 2-3, CoD4, Gears of War, SOCOM 1 and 2, CS:GO... hopefully 2018 will make a turnaround.
Que Music! "Wish we can turn back time. . . .to the good Old Games. . . when the game developers took their time, but now they're stressed out!" The Best Game Era is gone my dudes. . .
I've felt this way for awhile spending 2000+ hours on cod, 1000+ on Destiny 1 and 1000+ on 2k and I just picked up cod advanced warfare pre owned for 10 bucks and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. In my opinion, games are what you make them and when you keep playing the same games for years and years you do get tired. I will say company's aren't making their games to last and they're trying to suck put every dollar out of us as they can so I feel that plays a role too. Like not having a new gun you have to acquire through microtransactions gets boring of trying to grind the game for it. Idk man just play what you like and if you get tired of that game then play something else
Rainbow six is the only multiplayer shooter that i still play now. I do feel that most of the other games are almost made for casual player base but with siege i felt that need to getting better doing the grind for the new operators which come out for free
Splatoon 2 on the Switch you know! The game is Mad competitive I'm S+2 on my way to 3, and I used to play Socom 2 US Navy Seals On Us East 1 pistols only.
I think another problem aside this is that most game companies are American and focus on American history. whether that is GTA, COD... the point I'm getting at is that companies should really try different history areas. Great games could be made from this. My idea is a Peaky blinders style game. You could do so much to a game like that. Especially as there is that UK war history before the startup of the gangs. you could make many extras. for example: if you have watched Peaky Blinders then you know that there is a scene where they create this huge fight in a London club. They grab whatever they have around them and beat them to death. They drag people along surfaces. Implementing tiny little things like that will make more entertaining and badass content. Even when it gets to multiplayer, you have one hella good server for each region of the world where you make your own gangs and compete against other gangs to gain dominance over the UK and what strategic plans you have to take down another gang, whether it's a stand off in the street or in a public bar. This is just one example and there are so many genres waiting to be made but game developers just don't seem to know where to look. Admittedly I think we take game creation for granted and nothing like this would be easy to make but with the amount of money going into this industry, there is so much potential to do so. Idk why I even commented this just felt like giving out an opinion. :)
+Black Creed.Network maybe this year it's the best shooter. Cause all we got is pure trash this year. But definitely not the best shooter this generation
I have put 600hrs on both TLOU & Rocket League. Playing both since launch i have never really been a shooter guy but i admit when i play the betas with my friends, i have a blast. But i do see the change you are talking about despite me not being a part of it
Developers are really just making games to keep the casuals on board. So many mechanics have been created to make it easier for people to play. I don't know if online shooters will ever return to the greatness they once were.
I feel you man I haven't bought plus for about 3 years as ever since 2014 I felt mp games weren't the same and ever since I stopped I haven't found a game to being me back as they all seem to have lost the it factor.
As you probably know since you posted this video there, some people still enjoy playing goldeneye multiplayer for wii . It's definitely the shooter i have played the longest. Surpassing the time i spent with Enemy Territory. Now this game is flawed and compared to today's games completely outdated. If it came out today I would not pick it up in it's current state, not even for a bin price. But it definitely to me has that something special to it that keeps me coming back. I was done playing other shooters after a couple of months. 7-8 years in and i'm still playing this one. I have no idea why. I can think of a boatload of reasons why i shouldn't. But i'm still playing it.
As someone who did 4 years of game development in university I can tell you from what I was taught, the technology used for level design and open world simulators has improved drastically. But game companies tend to cut corners these past few years to get the game out faster and make it graphically appealing for customers. The technology is there, but as long as the big triple A titles keep selling its just the classic 'Why fix it if it's not broken'
Feel for you but i am heavey with Japanese JRPGS/ singleplayer games screw western shooter trash joking people chill but growing up they were never my thing so i sort of don't care but intreseting to hear your thoughts on this my brotha
Like you said, casualized brings a lack of diff characteristics, theres really not a lot of diff from online games in terms of variety nowadays. And agreed on TLOU online underrated AF 🔥
Socom2--3 was the best online game for me remember staying up having clan wars. Now your lucky if anybody talks in game everyone is in party chat or no mic
I feel the same. Cod3 , had tanks, jeeps, motorcycles, great levels they need to go back to that, and cold 4 was a great experience too me, I hold great memories of them games online, and resistance online
Playing online while it was Halo 2 and Halo 3 was the pinnacle of the multiplayer experience. I am not talking just Halo but around 2008 in general, all your favourite Online games. Now it's normal, its not special anymore talking to strangers throughout your character or making friends. I remember that at this time it was the dream of everyone to play online. It took years to be accessible and when you got the opportunity to do so, it became addictive. All that because it was "new". And now, try to tell us whats new ? Nothing. Its not special inviting your friend to splitscreen anymore .Splitscreen is way less popular than before. And you know guys, things change and its normal. Its hard to invent something now while everything is easily accessible like this. Now the era I think is Esports, its popular to Vlog on UA-cam and stream yourself while you are good. I might be mistaken but it is what I feel right now while watching this video. Nostalgia is a suffering, I would do anything to go back to 2007 and start gaming again myself ...
I like the last of us’s online but it’s misses features to make it great like leaderboards’ ranks(I mean tiered rank gold/diamond) other things like that. So after you complete both sides trophies for the platinum there’s nothing keeping you motivated to continue to play
My last COD game was Black Ops 3, and for me it was like you were saying about newer multiplayer online shooters, I found myself not really interested in trying to get better at it. I end up going back to the PS3 and playing Ghosts, even though I suck at it. Maybe it's just that the maps are more interesting. I'd still play MW3 if it wasn't for the cheaters and hackers. It could be that less is more. Good maps, interesting weapons.
If anyone looked at my current Ps4 collection, all they would see is Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection, The Last of Us, Crash Insane trilogy, Gta 5, Gran Turismo Sport, Gta Trilogy, South Park tfbw, and South Park tsot. Only TWO of those games are Ps4 titles, everything else is either a remaster or a straight Ps2 port.
I'd like a multiplayer shooter game with high levels of blood and gore and is close quarters combat like inside apartment buildings. I guess it would be inspired by gears because id like the same gameplay mechanics but with photo realism and actual human characters. Since it would be inside apartment buildings the environments would be very suspenseful due to foot steps and doors closing and opening. If you've ever seen those photorealism unreal engine demos you would know what I'm talking about.
I can imagine Battlefield 12 Pay $3 to open a lootbox for a chance to play a battle. Pay $3 for a lootbox to chance to enable a usable controller config. Pay $1 to enter a bidding war (similar to ebay) to instantly win.
The game must have like a really competetive mode on it like overwatch playwd for a year hours on hours but now its getting old because I'be been doing the same thing for like hundreds of hours obviously you'll get sick of it
I'm ready for The Last of Us Part 2's multiplayer. The first one's multiplayer was so fresh yet barren and unforgiving. I hope to see Naughty Dog bring it back.
They should make a sword type of fighting game, I’m talking about The Witcher 3 type of style but instead of being Single Player they should make it Multiplayer Focus like pretty much like a Battlefield but with swords, that wish I have has not been done yet, and yes you can say it’s been done with For Honor but that game wasn’t as good as I though, but I was definitely looking forward to it, I don’t know maybe they should make more games like that but that their worth playing.
1018ez I played that shit with my friends. Its funny af But i need ranks or level type of shit Its just same shit over and over again Never go back to that shit and badly optimized.
Mackenzie Layne im talking more about wanting a Battlefield type of game but instead of guns using Swords, just like For Honor, a game like that where you have tema death match or domination and the typical online modes for shooters but using swords just like For Honor, the problem is that For Honor is not as good as I though
The multi-player games I'm playing at the moment are overwatch and fortnight. Though I can't see myself sticking with fortnite for to long though. And the amount I play overwatch has deteriorated greatly in the last few months. Spend more time on single player than multi-player these days as it is rare that multi-player games pull me in to keep playing. Since 2014 the only games that managed this are Mario Kart 8, smash 4, splatoon rocket league and overwatch as well of kind of battlefield 1 and titanfall 2 and Fortnite. Don't know something fresh feeling needs to come out can to get me coming back week after week as games I mentioned above did
I been playing a lot of Last of us remastered multiplayer, I think The Last of Us part 2’s Multiplayer is going to improve in a lot of things like adding different modes like an infected mode where there are clickers and runners in the maps while you’re fighting the other team. I also think they’ll allow us to customize our own characters by allowing us to add race, ethnicity, hair style & clothes
Facts. I have some great memories in socom that i never got playing modern shooters. I think it wont ever be that good again because dev's have no reason to innovate. These casuals will still go buy their games no matter what so devs just play it safe.
As far as recent shooters the most unique one I played was called Minimum. It was on steam and was very fun at the time but I think that game has died since. As far as an online game that keeps me coming back... surprisingly League of Legends. I was a big hater of league when it first came out buy over the years I've grown to like it very much. I don't even play the normal 5v5. I mainly jump into ARAMs and I'm able to play multiple games a night without getting bored.
Right now, BF1 is my jam. Siege was awesome but no one wears mikes and it just kinda simmered out for me man. But I miss the days of Bad Company 2 and shit that Dead Space 2 multiplayer was bad ass too
Causal only games trash I'm bored. Gamer I been watching you for a minute. It's always entertaining to watch you make fun of these trash games out right now. I'm hurting this year I ain't playing none.
My brother and I played TLOU LAST WEEK populated in seconds, granted delivered cheeks against those vets but still a good MP shout out to my favorite African American brother on this website Jeremy
This is gonna be a long post. And it's prob gonna be rambly, but I'll try my best not to be.

There are so many different variables as to why multiplayer gaming, actually online in general, is getting worse.
Gaming is an entertainment TITAN. The industry makes and costs so much money it's not even funny. But that's precisely the main reason WHY gaming kinda sucks nowadays: THE COST.
But the passion behind the projects is a big one as well. Gaming, for a while now as you might have felt or gotten a sense of, is a lot more openly corporate nowadays. It's always been about the money, but passion was first. Now? It almost feels like the passion developers put into these games is way down the list of things that drive them.
Bet. Ring me up real quick."

I mean hey, that's business 101. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And clearly, they're making too much money to care. And consumers aren't doing a damn thing about it cuz they still buy the shit anyways.
Anyways TL;DR:

Conspiracy Theory: did Overwatch get popular because it's a good game or because of the porn that came out when the game came out? 🤔
The last fun experience in multiplayer I had was the Red Dead Redemption multiplayer. That shit held me for about 3 years. I didn't like GTA V multiplayer cuz it was basically felt like an isolated multiplayer unless you playing friends
This is why my favorite genres are fighting and racing. Injustice 2 and Tekken 7 are my jam. I still play Street Fighter IV too.
Mackenzie Layne They've never been my thing.
Man I still be playing TLOU online easily one of my favorite multiplayer's and it's been freaking years
lowkey had a gem MP experience to go along with the SP
Duckwalking molotov spammers stopped me
TheGamer2323 Thats probably the last amazing multiplayer experience I've had for a while playing that.
Yeah me too.
Been two years since I bought TLOU and still be playing Factions even over BF4 and FIFA.
Hopefully we get cooking with the Gamer as DLC this year.
was thinking of bringing it in loot crate form? Thoughts?
TheGamer2323 lmfao
I miss middle school and mw2 that was the best time I had online looking pass oma
Single player > Multiplayer not even a debate. Also the most I had fun on a MP was bf3 I've played that on the ps3 on hours with friends and by myself. the maps from bf3 are great something bf4 barely has bf1 ones are alright. I hope the next battlefield is as good if not better
Theyre not getting worse its just that we are seeing theyre not changing anything as time goes on.
I think it’s time for RPGs to make a comeback.
Persona 5 is a game of the year contender
SweetDangos have u tried R6
Uncharted 2 Multiplayer was the best most underrated multiplayer of all time.
PoorGamerNo1 are you kidding. Game was full with tryhards running in circles spamming grenades to avoid gunfights lol
PoorGamerNo1 Yes that multiplayer was awesome!
Straight facts bruh, and then Uncharted 3 and 4 improved on it
SPEAK ON IT! (I wouldn't say of all time......but SPEAK ON IT my brotha!)
Definitely 1 of the best overall, the co-op and competitive were FIRE!!
i remember when every shooter didn't have COD button layout. Every shooter had it's own button controls
Jabbar Lennett cod has a great button layout
Great message, didn't really grow back in ps2 days but my uncles did,and man they talk about those days like it was the golden age in gaming.Only multi 's i play is injustice 2 and tekken 7.Tekken 7 multilayer's is GODLY,but in injustice 2 %60 of the time your fighting spammers
single player will always be king! Multiplayer games will never compare, I've realized a lot of these people who play a lot of multiplayer games, are not real gamers.
youngdefiant pfffffftttttt
youngdefiant Yeah its shame when you see your friends on Steam have played 5000 hours on CS GO and PUBG and never seem to care about singleplayer games
youngdefiant I feel you
Why does it matter if they play a lot of multiplayer games?
These type of gamers are still ass hurt about OW winning GOTY
That too, but I am just referring to core gameplay and how well it plays regardless of content amount.
I disagree i think people embrace change if they think its good
Your standards were probably lower back then. I used to love Fable TLC till I replayed it a couple of years back. There's a reason why kids are still eating up games nowadays and it's the same reason you feel like games back then were all good.
Multiplayer shooters are played out. Shit is wack now. I want more coop games. I miss playing games with friends like lost player 2.
MrRighteousfish i agree
Gaming is getting stale. I barely play any games. I try replay old games but even that doesn't really get me hooked. I play a game that I know I'm going to complete easily and slowly but surely it gets repetitive and boring. Not saying the game is terrible but its just that feeling you feel bored of seeing the same thing. I don't know what it is, maybe we're getting old for games or because we are busy doing different things we don't have time to play games like we usually do.
francisjairam were getting old. Its all about money food and bitches now
francisjairam switch to pc gaming
Too many shooters are noob friendly and designed for skill gap compression. This leads to poor balance.
I agree with this. The more the challenging the better
MrReyno Tanks it's cause you bums playing on consoles hop on rainbow six siege on Pc, dirty bomb, etc there you have an actual challenge I guess.
What unpopular games do u play?
What unpopular console multi-player shooter is good? Sounds like bs to me
Doomreb Pretty much, can’t believe Mario is about to take game of the year, it’s a kids game...
This year we had our best single player games that makes a difference as well. Makes multiplayer games look bland.
Gaming devs have run out of ideas , it was inevitable
It’s really a no win situation . and even when they try something new it’s not really new , it’s just stolen ideas from other franchise that they try implementing it into theirs
yea ur def right but hopefully within in the next couple yrs u never know..1 franchise might just shake shit up again u really never know
PrettyboyPo RMF yup very possible !
Theres plenty of original games
I believe It was called TimeSplitters, Damn story mode was fun.
at this point, multiplayer games are becoming over saturated and are being bogged down by dlc. that's why I prefer single player games these days.
Que Music! "Wish we can turn back time. . . .to the good Old Games. . . when the game developers took their time, but now they're stressed out!" The Best Game Era is gone my dudes. . .
Character customization is missing and more third person shooters with no loot boxes of course
QuantezTheGamer bruh character customization bigger than ever
What's missing is the interactive community and everything actually being free😕
Loot Boxes has destroyed multiplayer online gaming Facts
I miss the Classic Halo so damn much... It's sad that 343i destroyed this franchise.
Angelo Vinci i 100% agree
I’m still on Uncharted 4 :-(
Rainbow six is the only multiplayer shooter that i still play now.
You need to switch to a mmorpg my dude. I’ve been in your shoes 14 years ago. I’m playing final fantasy 14, been playing that since 2013 I believe.
Simple answer: Quantity > Quality these days
Party chat killed multiplayer games.
Splatoon 2 is one of the best multiplayer Shooters this generation and this year it's really fun
Black Creed.Network 😂😂😂
Myles Daye I know right it's one of the best multiplayer shooters
Joke of the year
A .A no no no Tiss Tiss my brother is one of the best multiplayer Shooters this generation and this year hands down
+Black Creed.Network maybe this year it's the best shooter.
Mr.Kweezie its cause most people are casual and find the games fun
Uncharted 2 MP and Last of Us Factions MP were the goats back then.
Uc2 mp underated af!!
I 100% agree, and I've been playing online since the days of Halo2 on the OG Xbox!
I feel you bro! I bet a million I could come up with the best online shooter of all time. Just need a team
Back in the day, we'd always go back to black ops 1 on the ps3.. Kept playing it until the ps4 came out.
Only mp I play on PS4 is uncharted 4. Even on ps3 the only mp I ever played was uncharted 2,3 mp.
The last online shooter I really enjoyed was SplinterCell Blacklist spy's vs mercs CLASSIC! The co-op was awesome too.
Around the time this video was uploaded I was playing Fortnite, Rainbow six Siege, and PlanetSide 2
Like you said, casualized brings a lack of diff characteristics, theres really not a lot of diff from online games in terms of variety nowadays. And agreed on TLOU online underrated AF 🔥
I feel the exact same way man, I've completely stoped playing online games all together now because I feel like there dead
Kazuki Katsuhito why would they go back to that BF1 has the same things
1018ez in not talking about bf1 in saying cod 3 had them features back then and it was great back in the day when ps3 first came out
This is evolution, in a brief future games single player will be like cd's and vinyl on 2017, a hipster thing
I've just been playing fortnite with friends but I agree with you gamer online just isn't the same anymore
Im playing overwatch and yakuza 0 right now c:
Otaku XGamer123 Yakuza 0 👍
Halo 2,3 and gears of war 1 online was just... above and beyond what we got today
I am 18 so I didn't play Halo and SOCOM in their prime but I think it's different because gamers are different today and want something different.
The man speaks truth. "there's nothing else". We all know it, lets not deny it lol.
"They don't make em like they used ta'. Ya see kids, back in tha deyyy..."
-TheSenior2323
P.S. I agree 100%
I'm looking foward to Dreams, man. It can be a fucking beautiful experience.
I can imagine Battlefield 12
Pay $3 to open a lootbox for a chance to play a battle.
Pay $3 for a lootbox to chance to enable a usable controller config.
Pay $1 to enter a bidding war (similar to ebay) to instantly win.
Nostalgia is making you feel like that. Pop in those games nowadays and tell me how it goes. Cause most of them aged horribly.
But low key last of us multiplayer was underrated. I had so much fun with that.
The last of us was the last multiplayer I enjoyed.
Swords fighting>shooting
Single players>multiplayer
Shooting online games are boring af
I don't understand people playing PUBG for hours
Jaime Lannista they find it fun
1018ez
I played that shit with my friends. Its funny af
But i need ranks or level type of shit
Its just same shit over and over again
Never go back to that shit and badly optimized.
Mackenzie Layne im talking more about wanting a Battlefield type of game but instead of guns using Swords, just like For Honor, a game like that where you have tema death match or domination and the typical online modes for shooters but using swords just like For Honor, the problem is that For Honor is not as good as I though
Jaime Lannista so u need to be rewarded to enjoy a game? And how is it badly optimized?
The multi-player games I'm playing at the moment are overwatch and fortnight. Though I can't see myself sticking with fortnite for to long though. And the amount I play overwatch has deteriorated greatly in the last few months. Spend more time on single player than multi-player these days as it is rare that multi-player games pull me in to keep playing. Since 2014 the only games that managed this are Mario Kart 8, smash 4, splatoon rocket league and overwatch as well of kind of battlefield 1 and titanfall 2 and Fortnite. Don't know something fresh feeling needs to come out can to get me coming back week after week as games I mentioned above did
Im still awaiting last 2 map packs for battlefield 1. Frontlines is LITT
all love for you my brother mohmad from iraq
I been playing a lot of Last of us remastered multiplayer, I think The Last of Us part 2’s Multiplayer is going to improve in a lot of things like adding different modes like an infected mode where there are clickers and runners in the maps while you’re fighting the other team. I also think they’ll allow us to customize our own characters by allowing us to add race, ethnicity, hair style & clothes
Its way more variety nowadays then it used to be when it comes to shooters
I really enjoyed Titanfall 1, fell in love with it actually. But it got old like every multiplayer does for me.
I love playing Killing Floor 2. You all should really check that game out if ya' haven't already!
We are slaves to what's ever popular, even if the game is a short shitty craze.
day of defeat in the day was a blast.
Welp. Makes me glad I'm not that into multiplayer games much anymore lol. I haven't played a game online since Uncharted 4 I think.
But I miss the days of Bad Company 2 and shit that Dead Space 2 multiplayer was bad ass too
bf4,d2,bo3 just because i need something to play for 2 hours than i go back to slaving away 8 plus hours of the day
Causal only games trash I'm bored. Gamer I been watching you for a minute. It's always entertaining to watch you make fun of these trash games out right now. I'm hurting this year I ain't playing none.
Corey Mathew what trash games out rn?
My brother and I played TLOU LAST WEEK populated in seconds, granted delivered cheeks against those vets but still a good MP shout out to my favorite African American brother on this website Jeremy
I really love fractured space's multiplayer
