There's so much raw talent here, and they'd been at it a few years already. You can watch them play now in 2018 and it's a lot different. They just seamlessly coordinate with each other now. And they've all improved. But if you ask me, always give me the old shit man. (EDIT: Forgot it was 2018)
You prolly dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm you can stream all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my gf for the last few months =)
I’m grateful too, I would love to thank all 5 of them. My life is better because of 311’s music. I’m also grateful to the universe for showing me this badass video.
Me three! My life is far from perfect, but I attribute lots of the good things I have in life to the positivity this band has given me. I didn’t have much of a positive outlook until my brother showed me the self titled album 10 years ago. Fell in love
Before they were masters of their craft. Rough around the edges but you could tell they were on their way to greatness. I fucking love this band. I saw them live in Iowa City in 2003, and when the crowd got all quiet in between songs, I yelled "P-Nut! Play us some funk!" and Nick gets on the mic and says "You got it!" going right into Don't Dwell. One of my favorite memories ever. I was on cloud nine...
The “ohhhhh” nick let’s out at 38:55 made me laugh soooo hard so great . The good ol early years…. Slinky girl must have done it for nicks hex ha. 311 is underrated for their feel alone, I have a good idea that Chad really installed the groove in these guys all very young, yet ya still have to some groove to really get there and they have incredible feel, unlike so many bands. Chads feel is unprecedented, and pnut is solid as a rock baby. Then the sealer of the group Tim also has feel and I love how hard he feels it. They are sick tight here, chads got great sneaky chops as we all know but he’s really great even here at 23 yrs old. Understanding subdivisions was crucial for Chad and his teaching the band how to feel all of those subdivisions 32nds on up and down, very underrated for throwing a simple tasty 5 or 9 stroke roll in there is perfection slickness, along with a quick foot, and quick on his head foot as well. Cheeky for the bottle ….
"Quick on his, quick on his head feet" lolol great shout. I think you're right, it really starts with the drum groove, and he's got a style that I haven't heard from anyone else. He has influenced my own playing in more ways than I ever realized, has contributed quite a few tasty guitar riffs for them as well imo
100 % guys ever 311 show feels like we are seriously one big family and the vibe is sick every time. 311 day 2020 was ridiculous I was very blessed to be there.
Just saw them again 9/12/21 in Waite Park, MN for what had to have been the 20th time, at least. Been listening since 93 & first show was 94 and they were still as good as ever. I love checking out this old footage.
Nick wasn't bald for very long. This is incredibly rare and valuable footage to MANY of us. They're just about ready to 311 the hell out of the next 20+ years here. Thank you so much!
It's amazing how good sound equipment and a knowledgeable sound crew changes the perception of a band. This is pretty raw, but it's encouraging and very cool to see this mega band at this stage of their career.
It's funny to see a 311 live performance so raw because we all know that they stepped up their light game 1000%. 311 has one of the best live light shows I've ever seen!
Omg thank you so much for uploading this!!! This is golden footage. The band hadn't even been around long and only had released one album. I wonder how great it felt for them to play a benefit show in front of such a big crowd. At this point they were playing really tiny clubs!!
In Omaha they released several independent releases so they were well into their groove at this point. Half of this set is from their local releases: Downstairs, Dammit!, Unity & Hydroponic. It may have been their biggest show at this point though
'93 was the first time I ever saw them live, I was a junior in high school. Not many people in the crowd at all compared to their hayday but you could really sense their greatness and potential, that they were truly in a league of their own.
Loved them since I stumbled across their CD in my older brothers room when I was 11, been listening everyday since then... I'm 32 now. HIVE TRIBE FA LIFE!
Thanks so much for this upload!!!! Damn the good ol' days, I was 14 yrs old at this point, the following year I had a friend purchase Grassroots and it was over for me the moment my ears first heard the 311 sounds! Thanks 311 for all the amazing memories listening to you!!! 40 yrs old and proud damn it!!!! Namaste to all!!!!
Saw them last night (in 2024) and my feeling was, some people have followed the path they were destined for so closely and for so long, they almost seem to have transcended humanity itself and have become gods.
Sick upload, brother. I originally put this up back in 2006 after one of the original production crew dudes burned me several DVDs of this from his raw source. It was the most complete version of the show at that time, and it was the first time me and many others had ever seen this interview. PNut even commented on it when someone linked it on the 311 bulletin board around the time I uploaded it. Fucking great to see it back up here again after my youtube account was terminated by Google in 2011. I still have about 3 of those DVDs left of the original 6. I do recall giving a couple away to 311 fans I knew online, were you one of them?
@@311Archive sorry I'm like a year late answering, but yup that's me, kind2311. I got them from Roger and sent them to several peeps I kept in contact with via email and myspace.
Thank you so much for all of this amazing footage. Old or new (I’m old 🙃 does the Hive hotline ring a bell)? But seriously ty. Much love appreciated. I asked on the IG if there was any more Sprite Liquid Mix Tour footage, to be exact I was in Camden, NJ. Nbd just curious for nostalgia. My first 311 concert was in 97 in Camden (I was FIFTEEN) they gave us most of the Transistor album a week b4 it was released. I caught SA’s towel. (Fought 4 it). The best natural high ever. Danced my ass off in the pit I prob looked 18 but ok rambling THANK YOU, ARCHIVE! 🙌

311 is one of a kind… 1 of 1. Just saw them in concert for the first time, 2024.
Reminiscing...just watched their Tiny Desk on 3/11 and I felt old AF! 😆This video made me feel 30 years younger. Nice job.
This shows you, you know why they're tight? 25 years, buddy. They put in the work. Every single member of this band is a meticulous professional.

@Xander Benton yea, I've been watching on instaflixxer for since november myself :D
Dude that snare is sharp!
Tight as a 10 yo bhole
my general reaction to Chad period.
I'm so grateful to be a fan of 311... Being able to watch these old performances is making me love them even more, thanks for the upload

I am thinking DAT tape.
Immediate blue balls from “Welcome” never dropping in 😂
But this is some golden early days footage!! 🙌🏻👽
Me too! I was hoping for Hydroponic as well. Still fantastic and right around the time I got into them.
Hahaaa man, the baggy clothes and the caps, I still dress like this, and I'm 40. Dude such a great upload, thank you so much.
I still wear big flannels & band shirts. I love & miss the 90s.
This may be thee best live performance of "Visit" ever. One of my all time favs

no kidding? I never listened to them much but maybe I should try!

I love 311 fans as much as the band sometimes. Know our shit about musical instruments we’re hearing

I have to go to a 311 show before they retire. I hope they come to Europe after the pandemic
Damn, the sound on this is great. Nothing like a 311 show live
Well now 30 years and still going! Thanks J2Tone once again for providing our entertainment.
Back in these bad old days, Tim had to look at the fret board once in awhile.
This is my favorite comment on here. So true!
It’s crazy to think its been 30 years ago this concert took place, but it honestly feels like yesterday

Early Autumn Station didn't he shave it because his long hair was singed in the fire that detroyed their touring RV?

Funny how Hexum looks like a total goon at 23 and now he’s a pretty boy at 53. God I love these guys lol
Also, Tim’s PRS is really slick. Getting one shortly!
