Hi, I have my dad's 1965 MF 135 which I have just started restoring. He had it from virtually new and I learned to drive on it. If I make half as good a job as you have I will be very happy. Well done. Lovely machine :-)
I bought a 1964 30 from a farmer in my local town for $1500 or around £3000 witch I use on my parent lifestyle block the previous owner never customised or upgraded anything so it was 100% original I thought it was a steal it didn’t run but all it needed was a bit of tinkering I had it running within a month but I did need to replace the tyres it also came with a carry crate for firewood I later bought a small trailer, topper and a 2 furrow plough it works wonderfully on my parents small block carting lambs in the carry crate pulling conventional bales and firewood with the trailer and ploughing the the garden with the plough they definitely don’t make tractors like they used to
PS: I really love that Piper Super Cup. Made my pilot license for soaring planes in the year 1998 but stopped flying 10 years ago, caused by job and family...
+Dan Sarrahí , Thanks. I found the MF30 stickers on the German eBay, unfortunately I don't remember the name of the seller, and can't see my purchase history back to 2012, when I bought the stickers. But if you Google hard enough for Massey Ferguson 30 decals, I'm sure you'll find something.
Congrats, your MF 30 looks very, very nice. Any problems with loosing motor or hydraulic oil? My MF30 now looses every liquid from inside... :o) regards Snegelbiz
Hi, thanks. The engine drips a little oil through small holes on the left side of the engine block, just where the exhaust goes down. I'm told that's because there are o-rings sealing the cylinder sleeves, and when they get tired either oil or coolant can leak through these holes (there are two sets of the rings, one sealing oil and the other coolant. Good luck with your machine.
Hi! I have a MF 30 aswell. Not anywhere near the condition on your beautifu vehicle.. Im looking for information regarding the brakes. As far as I can figure out mine are completely worn out. Cannot be adjusted any more. I have not been able to find conclusive information on exactly what spare parts I should get. I though maybe you have had a look inside rear axel and brakes? Maybe pictures or info on where to get parts. Any info is welcome. Thanks!
I had a look inside and it seems to be the same. In fact the 130 is the same tractor as the 30, except for the bodywork. The 25 is also the same except for slightly fewer horses (25 Vs. 30).
This site indicates completely different parts for the MF30... www.ssbtractor.com/cgi-bin/tractor-parts-search.cgi?search=yes&category=all&keywords=830480M92
Hi do jou know a site whare i can get a new logo for my mf 30 my logo is broken amd i needt a new wan? (Sorry for the bad Ingles i am not so good whif Ingles i am Netherlands)
I wish I could. I'm afraid there are no RAL numbers on the cans. The only number on the red can is 47353, and on the gray one, 46624. Not sure if that helps, but that's all I have.
Double clutch (or dual clutch) means that if I don't press all the way down, I can change gears but the PTO still turns. If I need to stop the PTO as well, I just press the pedal as far as it can go. So if there is a mower connected the the PTO, it doesn't stop every time I change gears.
Hi im 15 years old and my Grandpa had an old MF30 as well. He died and i become the Mf i like Cars and know a lot about it. I restored the MF alone without help. I cleaned it, changed the cylinder head and Rings and i also painted the MF. Its like new and i love it. It was soooooo hard to find new parts for it and it costs 3500 Euros. But i dont find holes on side of the Motorblock because it is really much Oli on it. I mean its good because i dont have to make an oil change 😂. But i dont like the Oli on the side. Pls help me how you solved it. Sorry for my grammar, i live in germany and im not so Good in English
Hi. I haven't been able to solve the oil leak through the small holes on the block. They are just drain holes if there is an internal leak at the cylinder sleeve rings, inside the engine. I let the engine leak a little bit, then I just wipe it with a cloth. Hope this helps. :)
I was told not to fill the holes, they are drain holes. If they are closed, the o-rings around the cylinder sleeves may become damaged because of the pressure. Better let it drain and just clean it. That's my advice.

My MF 30 cranks and runs good for about 30 minutes and then starts sounding like it is trying to back fire and eventually goes dead

The brakes in my tractor are not so great either. I have been looking for pads, Think they are here: importtractorparts.net/130brakes.html
So you say its the same as for a MF 130?
Have you had a look inside?
