- In today's art video, I embarked on a creative journey exploring the world of abstract painting. My color palette was inspired by the rustic hues found in old buildings, featuring dusty blues, quiet greens, vintage reds, and warm oranges. After finding your channel and subscribing, I treated myself to Colour Cube 1. I think it is a great tool because in the past I spent an age trying to choose a colour palette for my project and now I randomly pick a card and go with the flow. It means my creative time isn't spent deliberating over colour choices. Thanks Denise.

It’s so much fun to see which direction you decide to take when you change media. It’s like you know exactly what to do to improve the look of the piece. I’ve never tried this but I think it’s time. Also, I practically drool when I see all of your incredible art supplies, when you introduce new media that I do not own, I immediately want to have it. Is that bad? Morning Denise. I know this is going to seem like a weird thing for someone to say - but I love that you USE your art materials. I am trying the break the feeling that I am "wasting" my precious materials. I watch you and Diane Anton and you aren't afraid to use your materials and try new combinations of materials. So thank you - I think I might be starting to feel a little less "precious" about my materials - and use them for what they are.
I get not wanting to waste supplies… to the point that they dried up in their tubes! I tell myself now… the only supplies I waste is the ones I don’t use!! 😊
I love the idea of doing the asemic writing underneath the watercolor rather than on top. It makes it even more mysterious!

I think this one is my favorite so far! Its amazing how colors go together. I was thinking while you were doing it that I might like to do a really big one! If I did, do you think it would be better on a mixed media paper? Do you always use watercolor paper? I wonder how mixed media would hold up to watercolor and all those other supplies you use.

Most of them can... a few may be too stiff for watercolor, but I mix and match mine all the time!

Question that I need help with. Which direction do you store your pens? Upside down or right side up -cap up or down? I store some of my brushes clean than flat. Others are brush up. Am I correct? Thanks.
I store the pens laying on their side. I think I read that on the Posca site or somewhere. 😊
