It’s amazing that this design is over a decade old. I remember seeing an original Fiskar Karma back in 2011 and it was unlike anything I’d ever seen. It’s hard to believe it is still equally as eye catching
I've seen a Fisker Karma up close in a Costco parking lot and they have stunning presence. In comparison, Teslas just look like weak-ass bars of soap in various states of erosion, with embarrassing interiors.
i think that, in general, styling has gone downhill since this originally came out....also, vehicles keep getting higher off the ground, so this looks especially low slung
It's actually amazing that this is still around! People like to talk crap about Henrik but you got to give the guy credit... Elon Fan buys will have a cry as usual.
Best looking hybrid on the market. John Davis thank you for the nearly four dacades of automotive entertainment, sir you are a living legend and the best in the industry.
Maybe Chevrolet should build a 4dr. Corvette with the front engine layout. Keep the mid-engine-corvettes for the sports car purist and the 4dr coupe for the traditional front engine rear wheel drive Corvette of old.
Better looking than a Tesla inside and out but it’s a plug in hybrid not an electric vehicle so maybe not a direct competitor. Pricey for the tech and I doubt Karma will be in business 10 years from now as every auto manufacturer is rapidly developing hybrid and all electric vehicles.
The Karma was like a supermodel that looked incredible just standing there. The problem was she would instantly trip when trying to walk in high-heals, and when you asked her what her name was, she would tip her head to the side and say "eh?". Then later you found out her bra was stuffed, and her original name was 'Karl', catch my drift? Better to just admire from a far...
One day all cars will be electric but people will still be told carbon emissions are too high due to everyone charging their car using fossil fuel based electric power. Then they will limit your cars range or charging capacity through software to force you into driving less.
I loved the Fisker Karma design when it first came out. Would have been nice to see some of these features in that model because I like that design better than this one.
@@stevensmith8648 it’s slow for the amount of power it has. 4.5 seconds to 60 is fast, but a new Mercedes E-450 can do it in 4.3 seconds, and the Tesla S can do it in under 2 seconds.
The design reminds me of a modern day 1930 era car due to its proportions. Like the old Cadillacs and Lincoln car of that time frame but blended into 21st century design language. I think it will hold up as time goes on.
When the Fisker Karma came out the only full EV was the first Tesla roadster... they have clearly had financial issues that have kept the company from developing a full EV since.
I've been in love with this sexy car since Fisker revealed this goddess. The only downsides for me are getting in and out and the seat design. The seat design look like a design for entry level vehicles appealing to younger buyers. Absent was the high-end tufted diamond contrast stitched nappa leather seats and door inserts made by the hands of expert artisans. In my opinion a lack of stitching looks cheap. As if the seats are heat welded padded vinyl. The design itself took me back to the geometric printed fabric seats in cheap vehicles of the late 80s and 90s. They were cool for about a minute. Then everyone rushed out to buy seat covers to hide their poor choice. The seat design should be as timeless as her exterior styling. It's best to remain true to the timeless yet refined and always appreciated tufted stitching. The vehicle fires and other issues did not put me off from buying the original Karma. The cost of redoing the interior did. The door cards had to me custom made to match new custom seats. That said I've never like Tesla for similar reasons. Well.... To be totally honest I think Tesla's are just altogether ugly. Seriously void of any styling at all. They are utilitarian by design. Tesla's goal has always been maximum efficiency, and it shows. The designs are all dated. Unless they redesign, not "refresh", their fleet their share of the market is going to tumble and collapse within the next few years. Most buyers choose their next vehicle based on what's visually appealing within their budget. Many are willing to sacrifice range for style. I'm still driving my 2014 Panamera E Hybrid because no EV has captured my attention yet. Thankfully we are about to be inundated with choices. This is bad news for Tesla and their decade old stale and bland 90s era styling. Refreshing can only go so far. Particularly with the lack of brand loyalty today. Brand loyalty in the automotive industry is a thing of the past. Sure there will be a few diehards. But for the most part we buy what appeals to us most despite the badge. Which is why I've put my reservation and deposit in for my new GSE-6. The Porsche has been great. But I've always wanted this gorgeous machine in full EV glory. Yes this design is well over a decade old. However she is just as stylish today as she was when I first laid eyes on her in 2011. Cheers!
Should sell like hot cake considering a price tag of an ordinary sedan with a very classy interior and exterior look. Make heads turn wherever it goes. Just need a CEO that can create publicity like Elon Musk.
Beautiful car. But also beautifully flawed considering the market today. Some updates happened, but not in terms of efficiency, packaging and drivetrain. I get this is possibly a transitional model for Karma to bridge towards BEV, but for that kind of money? This is the worst kind of flex of any sort.
This car is not very appealing. Given its length you failed tp mention the cramped rear seating. The car's elongated side profile is ugly. But i guess its a matter of opinion. I dont see it competing in the market given the high price tag.
