Randy brings speed to the base path, he steals 20 bags consistently which is important in a double suppressed ball park. Casas is check notes - first percentile speed. Second Randy can he acquired for prospects and casas needed Castillo and taking on a crap contract. If Casas was available for let’s says Locklear and Arroyo. I think he is a fit
I'm not buying the "bad fit" so much as we wouldn't eat salary or take back a contract. I know it isn't a deep dive into the spray charts or anything, but wasn't Mitch Garver 0-36 at the T-Ball Park in Seattle before the Mariners tripped over themselves to sign him?
Pure "F" for this offseason. I remember a poll when the offseason started that was asking if the Mariners should keep Polo at 12 million. I think Lyle was the ONLY podcaster polled that said we should. Everyone else said hell no and that money could better be used somewhere else. What do we say now that the Mariners are literally NOT GOING TO SPEND THAT MONEY AT ALL? ARGHH!
I’ve heard non-Ms fans saying they should accept a Kjerstad for Castillo trade. I tell them it has to be Mayo, kjerstad alone isn’t enough, but what’s your take?
Because after watching a few highlights of his and interviews of his, he seems like he wants the limelight of a large market, he wants to showbiz, he would be resentful of the atmosphere in Seattle and his play would be reflective. Now you’re going to say he should be a professional. I agree, but let’s live in reality…
We need low strike out, high contact and high average hitters...sounds like Cole young and Ben Williamson are getting called up. Oh, the life long minor leager who finished the season on the roster (Leo Revas)....is also that.
If they came out and just said “we believe in Tyler Locklear and Cole Young , and we want to keep space open for them to come up and play this year” I wouldn’t be mad.
They probably do have high hopes for Cole Young, (though not this year!!) but Locklear....? If they're banking him on being much more than a quad A player, I'd be shocked actually.
@@MarineLayerPod that's one way of looking at it. If I had to bet, I would bet the farm that their apparent willingness to "trust" in Locklear was all about money. I don't think they look at Locklear and see anything more than I do, a quad A player, but ownership won't do what they should.
The 25 Season will be all about Ichiro and Bobble Heads and 2001 116 wins ichiros MVP season and don’t forget the bottom barrel pickings and of course Miss the playoffs.

Maybe they’re trying to learn from Garver, and think Casas would be just as bad here.

2019 start mentioned! ELATED
Jose Iglesias - OMG would be this teams “Who Let The Dogs Out” when ARod played that every time during his Mariners 2000 season 😬

I'm beginning to realize that I'M a bad fit for being a Mariners fan.
They are going to come out and complain about the dodgers when the owners are unwilling to put in their slice if the pie.
Small sample size, but I won $.75 at the casino last night. Gonna go dump my life savings in.
Morning guys.
You need leadership to get better as an organization. #stantonsucks

Their (failed) action in the first base market has suggested otherwise re: Locklear
