I was glad when the kiss happened though because it gave ShanShan a chance to see everyone's true colors.

Bear in mind Shan Shan said nothing either in this hospital scene and in other scenes prior to the kiss and after. It is I have to come to understand its a societal norm to say nothing about what has gone before without proof or making a fuss. The kiss scene with Li shu changed that!
