Lots of people forget that online personalities, specifically streamers only show you what they want to show you. You’re not getting a glimpse into their lives or getting to know them, you’re being amused by pseudo reality tv content based on entertainers portraying themselves as likable/remarkable/scandalous as possible to keep the chat going. Those who don’t understand this tend to become emotionally connected aka parasocial. Being parasocial isn’t particularly a bad thing, but it’s usually the stepping stone towards awkward shipping and just weird behavior in general.
