    OMG 😳 I thought I was the only person who had researched all this stuff !! Quality things are like an intriguing Agatha Christie once you start delving in deeper , I spent many hours learning about fine bedding ,..and then it was men's shoes 🤔😂😂, I started off with Tods and Santoni and ended up learning how they make Edward Green and John Lobbs , how they take several weeks to make by skilled craftsmen , etc ...I guess some expensive things ARE worth it , when you look into the background ,,..it's just knowing WHICH ,...where you and your fabulous well informed content will shine 😁❤️🙏

    I really appreciate the level of detail you’ve provided in this video - thank you! It’s so helpful for making informed decisions and purchases. I hadn’t heard of Celso De Lemos - shall have to check out their products. Have you heard of the Angela Wickstead Home brand? Her Italian percale fabric is absolutely incredible. The 300TC is my fave - crisp and ultra smooth (i love crispy sheets), the 500TC is also crisp and smooth but more buttery and supple than the 300TC. (I’ve yet to try her sateen) She’s a “quality product flying under the radar” brand I feel, and I would love to see a review on your channel. 🙂

    Hi Anesu I absolutely *love* your videos! I have been binge watching them all week and can’t believe your expertise. You’ve made me so much more informed.
    Curious if you would recommend any American brands here for those of us on this side of the Atlantic? For example have heard great things about Cuddletown or Pure Parima.
    Second, any thoughts on price to value ratio on your brand recommendations? There are so many smaller DTC brands these days like Thursday Boots that claim the same quality for less by “cutting out the middleman”. Wonder if you have had any experience with these up-and-comers that may be high quality but don’t charge a brand/heritage/prestige premium.
    Third, would love to see your recs on comforters!! Have been dying to get away from my “down alternative” one from college :)

    hi Anesu, really love love your video, I am driven crazy about luxury bed linens, and wish to ask how will you compare Egyption cotton vs French flax linen? I'm hesitate between the two. I have cats, feel linen might catch more hairs than Egyption cotton? Coz after seeing your videos, I get luxury percale or sateen finish is smooth and soft, like silk. So really wish to hear about your opinions, thank you

    • @SoAnesu

      Thank you Fan.
      Both types of bed sheets will catch hair but I think the Egyptian cotton will be easier to clean and remove the hair but it depends on how heavy / thick the flax linen is. The lighter the easier to clean.

    Hi I purchased 4 sets of Sferra extra long staple cotton sheets 600 TC,I wanted to know what Frette was like. I picked up a Duvet Cover Jaccard on the outside in a floral pattern, 630 TC Extra Long Staple cotton. The inside is 300 TC. I have them on a Tempur Cloud Lux mattress. It is outstanding to sleep on. I'm looking for a giza 45 fitted sheet, just to try. The problem is the price. Also My wife launders it all with a small amount of detergent mixed with a teaspoon of sodium Bicarbonate and white vinegar in place of Softener ,then she line dries them and then irons them slightly damp and they come up like new every time

      Yes both would be great depending on what you like Hella is sateen and Bourdon percale, both 700tc. Longevity will very much depend on how you look after them. They are easy to maintain wash at 40/60 degrees please check your specific label, I would always say hang to dry, I don’t ever tumble dry, but if you must low temperature and use a good iron for maximum performance. You will enjoy your linen.

      I’ve bought bedding from a few places recently and the quality I’ve experienced has been pretty poor. After a few washes it’s either bobbling or gone dull. All Egyptian cotton and high thread count.
      Even from the likes of John Lewis which I thought would be the best on the high street.
      I want high quality percale at a reasonable price point and ideally in pink to match my bedroom.
      I’ve just bought white company sheets as you recommended in your previous video but hadn’t seen this video when I ordered last night.
      My worry is that I have the same experience with the Harrods sheets and I can’t even return them if the I don’t like the colour as they have a no returns policy on bedding online.

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  3 роки тому

      Ooh no what a pain.
      When you upgrade from John Lewis to Harrods or Yves Delorme for example you notice a big difference in everything look, feel, quality etc the only issue you potentially may have with Harrods is getting the shade right nothing else. From a quality and performance point of view you won’t be disappointed. If you can return the White Company linen I would and flip to Harrods if you are willing to take the gamble on the light pink. Otherwise White Company will still be fine.
      Thank you for watching my videos I appreciate it.

      @SoAnesu  2 роки тому +3

      Yves Delorme and Signoria are similar. Yves has a mixture of basic / core ranges and your more fashion ranges which typically go on sale at the end of the season. Whereas Signoria makes their linen on order linen is custom made for you.
      Quagliotti is a totally different league. I would put it ahead of Frette! Frette like quite a few brands use 300 tc as their base whereas Quagliotti uses 600tc. Their linen is exceptional it’s the very top end of the market. I would put it alongside Celso de Lemos.

      @@SoAnesu so, it’s just not as well known as those 2. It adds to the appeal being relatively ‘lowkey’. They don’t even brag “finest linens” on their sites. No wonder Savoir HK carries it, they have the best presentation in Asian showrooms.

      I think it depends on who you talk to and which market. It’s not currently available in London and therefore couldn’t get a sample for the video. I’m not sure if Celso does as well I guess no need if you know you know right?

    I spent £489 on one fitted sheet from Celso de Lemos. Carefully following the washing instructions (40 degree sensitive wash, line dry, iron), within 5 weeks the sheet had completely bobbled and needed to be thrown in the bin. To make matters worse, the retailer (Harrods) refused a refund and the manufacturer is not interested in how their sheet could have bobbled so badly. I would warn against paying a lot of money for so-called "luxury" linens.

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  2 роки тому

      Ouch it’s a little tricky for me to comment as I don’t know the full situation or seen your sheet. I know the Celso and extended linen team in Harrods, from my experience they have always been fair in their assessments and resolutions. I hear your warning and would also advise with anything but your case is an isolated one and not the norm or one I’ve ever heard of or else brands like Frette, Sferra, D Porthault, Schlossberg and even Celso de Lemos would have long gone out of business and department stores like Bonne Marche, Harrods, Bergdorf Goodman wouldn’t stock their stuff. It’s unfortunate what’s happened. Try Yves Delorme if you are okay with a thicker sheet it’s a superb mid tier brand worth every penny.

    I'm interested in buying bedding of a decent quality, however, I discovered that neither Frette nor Sferra manufacture single bedding size... On Harrods of London I came across "Amalia" manufacturer originated from Portugal. I'de like to ask if you ever heard about this brand.

      I gotcha Harrods of London don’t have a range called Amalia which is what I thought you meant. Amalia silk blend sheets were discontinued as a brand from Harrods which I recommend if you can find them anywhere. Amalia have a fairly sizeable selection on the amara.com site. Definitely a brand worth exploring.

    I watched the video very carefully and I liked that you provided a lot of relevant informations.
    I intend to purchase products from Frette and for that I am studying everything I can about Frette, but at the moment I don't know the answer to some questions, could you please help me with them?
    -Should I buy Frette bed sheet's and other products from Outlet store or from the retail in Milano? They usually have 70% discount in outlet store but they don't have the new arrivels. I spoke with the people from Frette and they say that the products have the same quality in the outlet compared to retail, but is it so? In the store they have discounts of 30-40% in certain periods of the year, and at the outlet there is a risk of not finding all the products that I want. What's your sugesstion?
    -They have a wide range of products and to be honest I don't know which products and materials suit me. I live in Romania where the winter is somewhat cold and the summer very hot. I thought of buying a percale set for the winter and a sateen for the summer.
    -I would also like to buy pillows, duvets, pajamas, and everything from them, but I don't know what to choose. My mattress is 160x210 and I read that it is worth having a 200x220 sheet to cover the entire bed. Since I don't have a double bed, is it worth it to have a large number of pillows and to be full of sheets and duvets on the bed?
    Thank's!

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  Рік тому +1

      Thank you.
      Yes definitely but from a Frette outlet store the quality is not poor it’s end of season / stock lines.
      Yes good idea percale for the summer and sateen for the winter.
      I don’t think you need a large of pillows. Buy just what you need a flat / fitted sheet for the bottom and flat sheet for the top if you like for when it’s very hot, duvet cover and pillow cases. That’s enough.

      @@SoAnesu thank you very much for the advice provided. They are very helpful.
      I watched a series of videos from your playlist and that's how I found the bath matt with a thickness of 2000 g/m from the company Yves Delorme, which is sensationally soft and fluffy.
      I recommend also studying the RKF luxury linen company, which has the best Spa and wellness products. Unfortunately they don't have a store, they don't have their products on display, but I can say that they are top because I had the opportunity to use their Spa products at the Mandarin Oriental in Milan.
      I would like you to address topics for the male luxury market in the future because I really need to learn various aspects of this world.
      about Brands of clothes, perfumes and what other products men use. Also, I think it would be interesting to speak about interior design topics (Italian brands like Molteni, Poliform, Valcucine, etc).
