I used a MOSFET from a DEH-P6400 that had a bad CD mechanism. Here is a new replacement option:

so if the heat sink is warm and the headunit is not turning on the problem would probably be the ic?

i have a double din head unit and on the board, there's what looks like an super small S fuse encased in resin or something. it's blown, sent it in and they said it's the rca output fuse. how do i remove that blown S fuse and what its in?

interesting that the main amp prevented it turning on and not blowing fuses. How was it diagnosed to being the Mosfet chip?

I posted about the unit not responding but having a hot heatsink within 10 seconds on FB and someone said to just remove it and use it as a dead head. I looked up the part number and found a bunch of other models with the same chip and I had a radio with a bad CD mech. and made the transplant. It made sense since that's really the only thing that would make the heat sink hot. It worked perfectly fine after removal but this unit is in very good cosmetic condition so it was worth it to actually fix.

I have a Sony CDX-M800 with the same issue and I removed the MOSFET chip as well but it didn't fix the issue haha. Maybe it needs the MOSFET chip to work so I'll be looking for a replacement.

@@RadiOG58 oh ok.. that makes sense where it initially turns on but overheats. Yeah, working on an Alpine unit with the same but in m case it takes 30 seconds to overheat. ;) I got a second donor unit to hopefully make a whole - hopefully :) Great vids !!! looking forward to the next venture!!!

No. Concert hall is only available on very few US versions of Pioneer radios and DSPs. That's why most people show off their Carrozzeria units which are the Asian versions of Pioneer radios.
