Add Bluetooth to an Oldschool Pioneer Radio

these oldschool pioneers put out some amazing sound quality. today we are adding bluetooth capabilities. this is a great upgrade and it keeps us from having to change out the headunit.
this headunit is a deh-p6400
i know this port fits many of the models from that time period(possibly others)

Just got the pioneer deh-p8500mp for 10 bucks at a flea market. Fid realize what these radios are going for nowadays

How is the quality?
Sound quality? Amazing. Far better than any headunit I've used mad in the past 5 years. Looks like many people still use these for bass competition and sound competitions

If you keep pressing function button on aux mode you can change the source name to bluetooth for example

I did everything just like you showed in the video but I can’t find it in my iPhone blue tooth section.. what name does it show up on my phone .?
does that horrifying noise go away completely once u put bluetooth in and connect it ? say i were to switch thru cd, bt .. ect and it lands on that noise. (or is it gone) thanks !

Did you find that the volume with the Bluetooth unit is a lot lower than for tuner/CD? I have to turn the volume right up near full to get good volume while streaming from my phone
When connected to the Bluetooth. Turn the volume up on your phone while playing music then the radio. And if you have an iPhone. Go to the Bluetooth settings for the adaptor type and change it to anything other headphones. Like other. Or speaker. Otherwise you’ll keep getting the volume safety message because it thinks you’re using headphones.
Hi should i just skin the power lines and ground cable and then tamper the bluetooth cables?
Neef your help drastically. Bought the exact adapter, wired it up and it does nothing. Put it on aux nothing happens. My phone is paired with the pioneer nothing happens. Trying to find the “bluetooth adapter” doesn’t find it. Please help I wanna fucking toss the entire radio in the water atm
Your phone had to be paired with the adapter, not the pioneer. Are you sure the adapter is getting power?

Hey is it still working? How the sound quality? Is it automatically connected when you open Bluetooth on your phone? Is it the 11-pin type adapter? I have carozzeria so i think its same with pionerr

Which power wire did u use por the Bluetooth
Usually splice into radio harness for key on power wire

It requires 12 volts so main power wire, not remote.
What about the deh p6300
Every player that has the "P" on it's name has the IP Bus port. That means you can use anything that features this port.

Where does the red and black wire go
Red is +12v connected to the red wire of the head unit wiring.
Black is Ground, also connected to the head unit wiring of the same color

No you can’t, just media streaming.
