Ahhh yes the good old “Put myself trough a discovered attack and trade all my pieces to play a pawn down endgame”, definitely top 3 favourite chess strategies
I have not seen the outcome of this game yet, but how many times have you put a knight or queen on h4 and fallen for that discovered attack and lost a pawn? It happened just a week or two ago when you put your knight on h4. [Edit: You did well not to panic. That's a good draw. Well played!]
I really don’t know how someone should learn that. But at 1600+ level you immediately see ‘No way I can play Qh4, because there is a discovered attack from that knight’. It’s not an issue of calculation, you simply see it at once. Maybe it will once come when playing another thousands of games so the experience is there.
@@MrGodsHandthe exact rating doesn’t matter, anybody who’s ever done puzzle or has any knowledge about tactics should see this, even if they’ve been playing for a few weeks
As a former e4 player, it’s well worth looking at the immediate Bb5 after Nc6 in the Sicilian. The idea being to get improved versions of the f4 lines or to inflict doubled pawns on Black which you can play against instead of going for a kingside attack. Well done on saving the game after blundering early on.
Good to spot the draw and force them to accept rather than making a mistake in the shuffle. I think they wanted to flag you but then realized you weren’t falling for it.
Played well man. Losing the centre pawn in the beginning to the discovery was a bit silly obviously, but apart from that you did great and held him to a draw. Good stuff coming up in 2025!

Good work drawing against higher rated player. But... nobody in his right chess mind would ever walk his queen right into an x-ray attack from a B. Unthinkable. That instinct needs to be killed. Only exception would if he had worked out some tricky tactics to justify it. Which is obviously not the case. No 2000-1900-1800-1700 player is playing Qh4 in that position.

I'm detecting some sarcasm

You definitely typed this because you’re 1650 or smth, 1200 or even lower should see this
@Absontchica 1200 not always,but 1400 should.

Nice draw! Knowing when to draw is an important skill!
I agree! It's better than losing!

Opposite colored bishops usually is a draw even if one side has an extra pawn.

I love that your daughter is checking in like that. It makes me look forward for my 2 year old boys' future :)
That's very sweet! I'm so glad you like it.

Pawn on b3 is not a "passed pawn" because a5 pawn still opposes, just an FYI
21:25 no you do not have a passed pawn. A good draw result for you though.
Good battle
finish 2024 as a 1500 and 8k subs on youtube... come on
Take it easy on Patrick. It's obvious that his cable package does include The Discovery Channel.
