The cycle of violence, if not stopped in time... will continue and continue creating suffering. I'm with you, Ren is a genius. Thank you for your emotional reaction.
Personally, the fact that Ren used the Madrigal style and Three Penny Opera, he speaks to the intergeneration of poverty, violence and abuse, that it's passed on from generation to generation, but also that that "system" is easier to maintain and harder to combat with the poverty making survival that much harder for humans.
As rough as it was, I truly enjoyed going on this ride with you. Such a great reaction. I'm looking forward to continuing this journey with you. Check out his Fred Again mash-up, Murderer (live acoustic version), Crutch and Back On 74/Message In A Bottle Retake just to name a few. 💛🤘🤙✌️
With you on the 'medieval' feel guitar at the beginning of Violet, when I first heard it I thought of a medieval ball with mistrels playing those weird guitar thingies
It is his dream to write a script and the score for a miniseries on Netflix. He and Sam have been working on that when they can. And of course they will produce and direct the project💜
A very honest and genuine reaction thanks. Keep it up! He is a once in a lifetime artist and he must be protected at all costs 👀Looking forward to more of your Ren reactions🖤

Oh that is R-I-C-H......bleeping out Ren's swear words, talking about how you are trying not to swear and along comes "Violet tales" and the F-words are flying left and right...😂. Wonderful reaction, he is one of a kind and since his health has improved, he will start to sky rocket. I will get to say I knew him before he was a household name. Just shy of 2 years since I have been listening to him. 💖
The excitement at the beginning cause you were expecting something special after all the recommendations. Well, it’s definitely special… But also definitely not the love story you thought it might be 😅 I found it interesting how you got Spanish vibes so much that you mentioned it multiple times cause it has always just given me medieval vibes. But then I haven’t listened to much Spanish music 😂 Still, I can just picture Ren captivating courts and town squares back in the day with his songs. Ren is a modern day bard painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. And Ren uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. Ren is special. Anyway great reaction! Now you get to wait in eager anticipation with the rest of us, cause Ren has said that he and his cinematographer Sam have plans to film a pilot to pitch to Netflix when Ren has finished treatments in Canada. All we know is that it will be in the same raw style as this trilogy, but that is enough for me to say that if Netflix doesn’t give Ren his own show, they are fools 😂

Violets tale was the biggest for me because she had tried, moved out young, got a job, place to live then…….all for naught. I would like another tale from our bard, I hope he is thinking on it. It needs uniqueness, can’t be a copy, Ren is the genius it is in his camp.as long as he does it in the next 15 year I should still be alive.
Good reaction. Thanks for sharing your emotional rollercoaster with us. In Jenny's tale, what you felt was a Spanish influence music actually begins with part of a Christmas carol followed by a bit from "The Godfather". He describes his music for these as "bardcore" (a medieval/folk influence). You must be more of an auditory than visual person? You made comments on what you were hearing when Richard the police officer came upon Screech, and the result; yet you are the first (the one and only) person in well over 500 reactions to this I have seen, who did not comment on Ren using his guitar as a gun and Sam the camera man (as Screech) getting hit and falling. I was very surprised you did not react to that aspect and had to go back to check you had not been looking away at that point in time. I found that omission an interesting insight into your personality, that you were focussed on feelings and connection over what you were seeing. Ren's way of getting us to bring generational violence out in the open and to find ways as a community on how to break that cycle. I love your enthusiasm for Ren
Ren and Samyel have pkans to submit a pilot to Netflix fir a series of dark musical tales on tbe pattetn of Dark Mirror. The stort is already written. It's on a back burner righr now as he has 2 albums in the pipeline. For sure i would watch! BTQ Screech us 14, inherited his fathets anger , on drugs and without impulse control. This type of story would be common smong the street gangs of London.
Yes. Masterful. Next level Storytelling. Our Modern Bard. The Mega-talented REN. And, yes, most of us get very emotional at that same point, if not before. As one person commented; "Ren takes us on a roller coaster ride and Smack! into a brick wall!" Ren is just as much a powerful Social Commentator as he is a Creative Artist. He wants us to look at the hard social ills that we prefer to look away from. He insists: "No! Look HERE! These things are happening, and we know why and we know how to stop them. Why aren't we!?!?" He forces us to 'Stand Witness', to CARE. This could be you or me or your daughter or your son. or your mother. ( Here in Australia 1 woman a week is murdered by her partner. I don't know what the stats are in the UK or USA, but we know these incidents are on the increase, as is street violence. We need to be doing more and puttng pressure on our politicians to put the money - the services -where they're needed most, as well as into preventative peograms - in the schools etc.) But, all things in balance. Remember, Ren is not all about dark stories. He does a lot of upbeat stuff as well. have a look at his 'Losing It' and also some of his Busking - with his prev. band; "The Big Push'. Try their 'I Shot The Sheriff/ Zion/ Hip Hop' medley.
WOW!!! Cudos Rusty! I have probably watched over 200 reactions to this masterpiece, I have psycoanalized every part. I have cryed with so many reactionists, but this is a first for me in your reaction...... To hear you say what you said about violets attacker, "Stevie," and what you would do if he did this to your daughter..... My hats off to you.... I do hope you become that protective father in your lifetime. Namaste!
Great reaction. Power 😢will get you back to a less melancholy place. Or, if you want an old school beastie boys vibe, check out What You Want. REN does have fun songs that don’t tug you emotionally, or is capable of evoking emotions that aren’t always so tortured. Personally though, I love the tragedies, they reveal and teach us so much about the human condition
The first time I heard Violet’s Tale. I was so pissed during the brutal scene between Stevie and Violet I nearly turned it off. Then when he Violet dies after we find out she’s pregnant and he says “a tragedy or miracle” I was yelling at my phone a miracle!?!? WTF? I almost didn’t finish it. A few minutes later I did and my mind was so blown, I immediately watched it again. I have now probably seen it 1000 times or more.😂
Ren is a fan of Kubrick and Tarantino and reads a lot. He is definitely motivated by a deep sense of social justice and love for humans As he is overflowing with creativity its wonderful following his latest projects. Quite an adventure
I think for a young woman, simply having a male figure in their lives like a father or a brother that would kill anyone that treated her wrong, makes for a young woman that would never tolerate for herself to be in that situation. The family unit is so important. When they are broken, it's so easy for the cycle to just repeat itself.
I know people will request.Chalk Outlines live first but I think you need a break from the tears and I would suggest The Hunger as maybe something to cleanse the pallet...
I enjoyed watching your brain turning and turning until the penny dropped. I would do the same if my daughter landed up with an abusive boyfriend/husband . Jenny was quiet like her Mom and James was like his father. There’s a great video Ren did as Screech before bumping in Jenny. Thanks Rusty
IMHO the Tale of Jenny and Screech is a Three Act Shakespearian Tragedy, in the style of the wondering minstrel bard. Ren has self identified his music as bard core, so that is confirmed. This is an ancient style of music; that goes right back through the wondering minstrel bards of the middle ages. The works of Chaucer sung in the Wife of Bath's ale house. And back to the Dark Ages of Anglo Saxon epic poetry of Beowulf, on through the Greek Homeric tales of The Iliad and The Odyssey and the beginning of the Choir. This form of story telling probably goes all the way back to Ugg twanging his Bow to woo the Chiefs Daughter or complain about the Chief stealing the meat from his hunt, at the hut of the Widow Ale Wife, where he and others would congregate to let off steam and tell tales of epic hunts; to then draw on the local cave walls, like the graffiti in The Tales. The music acted in part as interlude/intro as well as melodic emphasis and sound effects for the story. Also I think you spotted Ren's use of locational reverb in the sound engineering. They also got lucky with the Seagulls in part of the song which then was deliberately left in and emphasized in the mix. All of that indicates the intellectual level of the performance production in this piece of art.
Ren doesn't outright say it but Jenny was a pro, a streetwalker. Walked these streets a 1,000 times before in her high heeled shoes. She wanted to escape 😢
Subscribed, liked, all the things. After Hi Ren and Jenny/Screech, definitely check out the Money Game Trilogy... intense, but in a different way. You can do those in one off's. Money Game Three tops all other Ren stories from a production quality in my opinion. Just masterful. Also check out Ren x Chinchilla's Chalk Outlines - the live version por favor. Sick Boi of course. If you want a laugh, and want to be blown away at the same time, check out ren & sam's blind eyed angry car park attendant video. Hilarious, and brilliant at the same time. If you enjoy the crying bits... and want to back the view truck up?? Su!cide... damn. Then there are all his rapping songs which are just mental in a totally different way. Welcome to the party Rusty...
This is THE reaction of men with daughters. At this point in the song, my husband jumped up out of his chair and started pacing and threatening the non-existent boyfriend of my college-age daughter 😂
The Renegades are here for your reactions! Nice one mate. Keep going. But if you like a story, try a bit of NF and Story- that's another rabbit hole artist worth going down :)
you say that but you never know what will happen my daughter was in another state and i had no idea what wass going on hee killed her while she was holding her 15 mo son then killed himself i had no idea what was going on 21 years later the hole is still there
P.S. I don't really want to, but I feel compelled to say: while I empathize with the idea that you'd murder the prick that did that to your daughter, there's actually something toxic in that, too... I'm not well-versed enough in this to be able to articulate it well, but in case you do ever have a daughter, I'd encourage you to read and/or otherwise study up on the feminist literature (and/or other media) on this topic. It's complicated, and again, I empathize... but... yeah. Something to think about.
lol, I appreciate that, but I doubt I would anyway. I'm just saying things in the moment. I'd likely spend time with the people it would affect, such as my wife.
No, it's not a real story. Ren read a small snippet of a story in a newspaper, about a 14 year old boy being arrested for the murder of a young woman, in a knife attack. Apart from time and place, that was pretty much the entirety of the 'article. It made him sad and angry and staryed him thinking. 99%+ of the story is from Ren's imagination. Event the scant few details, that sparked his imagination, were changed. Obviously the names are different. The victim was a young woman, not a 14 year old girl. Nor was there any mention of her being a prostitute, like Jenny. The boy was arrested, not shot and their entire back stories are complete fictional. You'll hear all sorts of nonsense about this piece. Partly by people confusing Ren's brilliant storytelling with reality. Partly by people innocently repeating nonsense that they've heard elsewhere on the Internet. With a lot of stuff to do with Ren, whether it's his music, his creative process, or his life story, it's best to take it with a pinch of salt, unless you hear it from Ren himself. A lot of the stuff you'll hear will be true but a lot of it is garbled, distorted or confused versions of the truth and some of it is blatantly untrue. If you think any particular point is important, it's always best to try and find what Ren has said on the matter. :)
He's playing traditional mediaeval minstrel tunes, or variations of them anyway. People will tell you it's bard music but it's minstrel, just to be technical if that matters to you. Musically, it's the minstrel tunes that tie the songs together. You're probably thinking 'Spanish' because he's using nylon strings in those songs, and flamenco music is traditionally played on nylon strings. EDIT-> The tradional minstrel songs usually end with the minstrel declaring that the story he just told "happened right here", or "on these very streets" as Ren has it. It doesn't mean in this case that it's literally a true story. Ren's just sticking to the format. It's a shame people think it's bard music rather than minstrel. The main point of the whole trilogy, and the first two parts in particular, as I see the songs, seems to be missed by everyone as a result. Of course, if I'm the only one seeing it that way... I'm probably just "wrong" 😂
@IcarusDrowning-gz8se I love this comment. I didn't know there were specific types of strings, but that explains it. Thank you for the informative comment. I like the technical stuff
No, nothing at all to do with the bombings! Screech & Jenny were 14years old so go 14 years back from when REN wrote this, and you get to 2005, when Violet was killed & the twins were born!
Just the other day, Ren asked from his community, if it's time for a new tale. So we are waiting now...
The tales of Patrick, Screech's ex, Richard, and Stevie! I want to hear it!!
@@cjstatoTotally agree!

Powerfull stuff, eh?

Great reaction but a little puzzled why you muted the swearing in Violet's Tale but not the others?
Mate, I have no idea.😂I may have just forgot about it and just remembered the swearing at the end
Subscribed for more Ren and the big push. Please react to dominoes official lyric video ❤❤❤
Bardcore!
More medieval than Spanish tbh. Hence 'bardcore'. The whole performance was a modern take on the medieval minstrel or bard. :)
Density test. 🥴
Please turn down your background music.. it distracts from your feedback. Cheers
