Grizzly 399 surprised us all and came out early today in Grand Teton National Park. Mom and all 4 kids looked great as they surveyed a good chunk of their realm.
This is amazing that all 4 made through the hibernation. Granted it was a very easy winter in the Tetons and they entered hibernation very fat from elk remains. While Bruno was filmed the same day very fat this is still amazing. Good job #399. Your hardest year is still ahead of you. Keep them safe from traffic and teach them to find good and proper food on their own. Even your littlest, I assume a daughter is looking good. Still safely closest to your side. Those sons will wonder.
Probably because grizzly bears have a more varied diet and therefore more to learn. Some other subspecies of the brown bear also only stay with their mom for one year. The Mariscan Brown Bear would be an example.
@@jolenecreech7648 Maybe a better way to say it is that they don't have to nurse by about 24 weeks. Pepper was surviving without nursing at that age. We have seen them continue to nurse until independence. Snow was trying to nurse from Raspberry when she was 3 1/2.
Y, pretty normal for just coming out of the den. As they transition from children to teenagers, the cubs will tend to look lanky and thin for most of the year.

@@kellyhendrie4186 I was thinking the same thing!! Like on Christmas morning the kids want the parents to hurry and get up to see if Santa came. These 4 littles did the same thing. Get up! We want to go play.
Absolutely fabulous video! It almost made me cry and laugh at the same time. It is so good to see all 5 of them together. I keep praying that all of them make it to adulthood. I just found this channel and WOW! She is the best Momma Bear…. They are all so well behaved and stay by her side, She doesn’t put up with BS… ❤️❤️❤️❤️

We've never been in the den to personally watch, but we think it is kind of a mutual decision that happens over a few days.

They were out on Tuesday and Wednesday. Cubs look great. They were moving fast.
