@@KroyGamer79 I agree this was one of the first ones and there was a limited save/password type feature and there was no internet or book for cheat codes. You had to immerse yourself in the game.
So difficult to list just 20 but good list. These are all excellent examples of what the Genesis was capable of in the right programming minds/hands. Seriously, these are very comparable games if not exceeding what was found on the Neo Geo AES and I have that too. Both the Genesis & Super Nintendo (& TurboDuo) delivered hundreds of AAA games.
100% agree. I enjoyed playin Genesis games as I enjoyed SNES ones. Some of these games have amazing graphics, IMO the graphics in The Adventures of Batman & Robin are superb.
Streets of rage 2/3, Mega turrican, Mickey mania, super street fighter 2, eternal champions, maui mallard, sonic 3, Shinobi 3, biohazard, zero tolerance, sub terrania, soleil..
Many people doesn't remember that game because it was released when 32bit consoles were on fire but it's a good game, very different from the first part.
@@MakaimuraKiu согласен🤝, но от этого игра только круче!!! СЕГА выдала, всё что может на этой игре! Большой открытый мир, а уровни с боссами это вообще фантастика, Мой любимый этап это Rouge Road, фантастика!
Very good top 20, only very nice games. But for a selection of the Megadrive's best graphics, some games are missing, 4 in particular. Rocket knight Streets of rage 2 Flink Shinobi 3
The list is full of third party games. Batman and Robin, Contra, Flashback...none of those are first party. All of the treasure games. Not sure if Sega published, but they certainly didnt develop those internally.
Sonic 3D blast should be off this list as it was ugly even back in the day and replaced with Streets of Rage 2 and Ecco the Dolphin was one of the best looking 16-bits games ever made.
@@MakaimuraKiu Way more, its a perfect example what a Sega Mega Drive / Genesis can do - it was not for nothing that Zyrinx pointed out in the start screen what they could conjure up on a standard device.
If you did a top 20 16 bit graphics games, maybe 5 of these would make the list Im not talking about game quality, but SNES had better graphics in most cases. Contra Hardcorps looks like garbage compared to contra 3. Castlevania bloodlines doesnt look better than either Super Castlevania or Castlvania Dracula X. FF3, Chronotrigger and Seiken Densetsu 3. Hell SF Alpha 2 on SNES is amazing graphically. I think Sonic 3 should be higher, art style goes a long way. Aladin is pretty impressive graphically. Im not knocking the games, or even the graphics shown here, but the SNES being able to do more colors and effects really shows. Speed and performance might have been better on a Genesis due to the faster coprocessor, but it was the rare genesis game that looked better than a SNES game from an equally competent dev. Some did, Earthworm Jim, but that has to do with the presentation and aspect ratio in many (not all) cases.
Well SNES was released 2 years after Genesis so the better performance was because of more advanced technology. I know SNES had better graphics but this is a list to show Genesis graphic power and how some companies (Treasure, Traveller Tales...) made the most of the console.
If it was a top 20 with all 16-bit games included, then the list would be a lot more diverse than just SNES and Genesis. There's also PC Engine with the CD add-on and the Neo Geo, the arcades and even home computers like the Amiga. If it's just consoles, it's still four of them, not two.
Sonic 3 is probably graphically more advanced than Sonic 1 or 2, but, like you said, "art style goes a long way", and I think Sonic 3 is artistically the ugliest of the bunch. So, personally, I most certainly wouldn't put it higher. It's one of maybe only a couple games I arguably don't think should have even been on the list and could have been replaced with more graphically impressive games like Rocket knight and Shinobi 3 for example. I'm not feeling it with Sonic 3 basically.
Flashback was probably my favorite. It got me into the adventure type games.
Yep Flashback was a big surprise, not only because of the graphics (which are very good) but also because there were no games of this type in 16-bit.
Earth warm Jim entered the chat...
Judge dread entered the chat...
Bugger man entered the chat...
The Lion King entered the chat...
And so on ...

Good list of games. But in most cases music sound incorrect, on my real Sega Mega Drive and Emulators it sound less distorted...
Sorry for that, thanks for your comment.

Rocket knight
Streets of rage 2
Flink

I agree with you. The video's selection is almost perfect but missing of those titles (in which put Mickey Mania, The Lion King and The Jungle Book)

Earthworm Jim should be on this list - is it cause its 3rd party? Flashback is on this list - good list some games haven't heard of

😊 Très sympa cette vidéo ,sur de bons jeux Sega Megadrive !

There are so many games sega genesis always show incredible graphics❤

I'd add F1 Championship and streets of rage 2
What position would you have put F1 Championship in?
Mickey mania, paprium...
The Best is Flink
Do u like Flink? I think is an Amiga port.
I would add to the list Mortal Kombat II, Earthworm Jim, Shinobi III, Donald in Maui Mallard.
Agree, Donald in Maui Mallard great graphics and animations.
Rocket knight adventure
shinobi 3 return of the ninja master
What no RoboCop Vs terminator

Gun star hero. Vectorman helicopter boss?

Genesis had many impressive games, The Adventures of Batman & Robin graphics are amazing.
