This is how I felt after I did Nuclear reactor operations. After 3 years, one day I woke up and was like, woah. Am I a nuclear God now? And I'm going into CS soon and I feel like I'm struggle a lot at first but some years down the line I'll sit there and be like ohh... easy. (Hopefully 😅)

What they mean is this: While some courses will involve advanced math, its not necessary for you to know advanced math to PASS this course. That's like my local county college offers an astronomy course but the only way they can get kids to sign up is to tell them no math is REQUIRED to pass this class. That doesn't mean no math is involved, only that there are no test questions about math.

It's not like that, math isn't that scarry , maybe it is , but the thing is it has not much to do with practical work after degree , like for job , it's just kind like university culture , you may choose any field you find easy after , degree , as it allows in variety of field, i was scared though , but it's broad scope, and handsome salary motivated me , so now I'm in 4th semester , it's really not that hard as i was scared , just sane as we have been studying untill now , give your best , that's all we need, and I'm planing to go in web development as my 1st job , have already learned html css, which are extremely easy , you should try to , will help you to figure out whether you should go into this field or not , and i have also learned basic structure of c++
Most of the discrete math/logic/algorithms in this video are mainly used to teach you foundational concepts, to think logically, and how to use binary, hexadecimal, et cetera. Once you pass the classes (with a good grade without cheating/coasting by) it gets a lot easier and a lot more fun. After that, almost any equations you need to do can ultimately be done in an IDE, where there will be a library for it and plenty of documentation. Go to class, ask questions, do your homework, practice the problems in your own spare time, go to office hours, and you should be more than okay. Protip: if your University requires you to take electives, take an electrical or mechanical engineering course. I know people are tempted to take something easy like Intro to Film or something like that, but if you take an EE/ME class, it can help reinforce some logic concepts, you’ll network with people outside of your major that you can possibly work with one day, and once you graduate you can confidently apply to places that work closely with or handle a lot of Electrical/Mech Engineering, like Boeing, Intel, telecom, et cetera; You’ll have more field specific language and knowledge than any other Com Sci grads applying for the same position. It pays off.

In any case, if you ever studied any kind of science, physics, maths, etc people see you as a teacher, while if you studied anything CS/CE people see you as a router tech or a printer mechanic... they might even have suggestions for you and they always know better than you.

That’s why I went for 3 years, worked on my own projects, and got a 6 figure job without completing the degree. The degree has nothing to do with real software engineering but the first 3 years at least give you a strong foundation

@@definitelynotacringeusername 99% of software engineers do not use math in any software that they write. But colleges have a very heavy math based curriculum for computer science. If you are not good at math and still want to be a software engineer, then you still have options! Choose a college that does not include a math based curriculum (will require some research) or go to a boot camp that is reliable and highly acclaimed. You won’t learn any math at a bootcamp. My college required calculus 1, 2, and 3, differential equations, partial different equations, linear algebra, and much more useless stuff. I suggest looking into C# boot camps because the industry has too many people looking for jobs in React, typescript, JavaScript and not enough job openings to fill them. Junior C# jobs are always looking for people. React is easier to learn though if that’s something you care about!

most IT jobs need just software engineering with some knowledge in java or python. but...... As a computer science engieer, i have explored the theory of computation and compiler design theory, operating system working, built a 2 pass assembler for a lab session, analysing complexities of complex algorithms, understanding the pipeline of cpu architecture, developed drivers for basic 8 bit arm processors and many more.... finally some guy from non cse says cse is all about dsa and c program 😂

As a coder I will admit it was fking pain at the start but it just meant you have to put more efforts then the guys who are already good at it. Logical thinking isn't some skill you are born with you just become good at it by trial and errors.
As for maths idk man just keep practicing 😂

My Browser History at this point is just PasteBin, GitHub, Wiki’s, and UA-cam Tutorials… Most of the time.
That’s why I went for 3 years, worked on my own projects, and got a 6 figure job without completing the degree. The degree has nothing to do with real software engineering but the first 3 years at least give you a strong foundation

@@definitelynotacringeusername 99% of software engineers do not use math in any software that they write. But colleges have a very heavy math based curriculum for computer science. If you are not good at math and still want to be a software engineer, then you still have options! Choose a college that does not include a math based curriculum (will require some research) or go to a boot camp that is reliable and highly acclaimed. You won’t learn any math at a bootcamp. My college required calculus 1, 2, and 3, differential equations, partial different equations, linear algebra, and much more useless stuff. I suggest looking into C# boot camps because the industry has too many people looking for jobs in React, typescript, JavaScript and not enough job openings to fill them. Junior C# jobs are always looking for people. React is easier to learn though if that’s something you care about!

most IT jobs need just software engineering with some knowledge in java or python. but......
As a computer science engieer, i have explored the theory of computation and compiler design theory, operating system working, built a 2 pass assembler for a lab session, analysing complexities of complex algorithms, understanding the pipeline of cpu architecture, developed drivers for basic 8 bit arm processors and many more....
finally some guy from non cse says cse is all about dsa and c program 😂

And combined with these 2 hobbies of mine I feel I unlock more than ever.
