      Absolutely agree! This guy is solid gold. Best technician there is and you just can't find gold series technicians any longer.

    Great stuff! I think the 48mm OCs are closer to 620cc.
    Super jealous of how well set up your workspace is! ❤

    Brilliant thanks. I do fork rebuilds at work. I'm reasonably OK at them but it is great to get some extra tips from an expert. Thanks!

    Thank you Mr. Harder! Have rebuilt standard forks before but it’s really great to see some inverted forks being done. This is exactly why UA-cam is an invaluable resource for the diy crowd. If you see this, have you had problems with moose racing fork seals? I really don’t want to install shit seals and have them leak in 6 months. Cheers!

      Yep. Moose are the same as Allballs. If you look close you’ll see a “TTO” emblem on the seal. Those seals are rebranded by many other companies. You want to see NOK, ARS or SKF. That’s what the OEMs use.

      Dude that’s great. I won’t put ‘em in then. Thanks for saving me the time and effort. And for taking the time to respond.

      Even though you already said poo on moose seals if I would have actually listened to your words in the video heh 😅

    Around the 11:04 vid it shows cross hatch in the lath. I have a 2017 aer and to this point I’m leak free. I’m on SKF where it matters which is everything SKF. No noticeable failure. Been on SKF standard as a base. All my valve upgrades on the side. Which are HArd ENduro spect. Bladder in rear with K tech to keep up with the front. I digress…. Build your front end with knowledgeable people like this video.

      Back to the lathe part. I’ve only done it by hand. Most of us likely don’t have a lathe. Guess I need a lathe. Way to go now I need to make room for a future lathe. Say that 10 times. lol.

    What scotchbrite did you use on the inner fork tube? Scotchbriteseems like it would be an agressive 'polish'. Worry about damaging those fancy coatings the tubes come with?
    Spinning the tubes does seem like a good idea though. And dressing out any dings with a high grit wetstone or something.

    • @ChuckfromTrueTech
      @ChuckfromTrueTech  7 місяців тому

      It’s red Scotchbrite. The chrome is much harder than the abrasive. It leaves a light crosshatch. No measurable material loss.
