    Paul, thanks. On your "rec" bought, the matrix line in 8lb. Used it for bream fishing on an old snagg estate lake were carp occasionally break up the party fighting hard and an eel that straightened out my size 10 drennen hook "for a pull " once it had rapid its self around
    A tree branch in the margins.Found the line exceeds expectations. Tough supple and great knot strength. This line should cost a lot more than it does.

    Just come across this review after 6 months 👍of using 8lb submerge, and was really impressed with it, I did find on my feeder rigs. Hook lengths loop to loop snapping at the knot in main line on the bigger barbel using 8lb, this happened less when I used a swivel but I decided to upgrade to the 10lb submerge and fish 8lb hooklengh with swivel or quick change, unless I’ve spooled it up wrong i find the 10lb springing off spool , and terrible line twist compared to the 8lb and much worse than diawa sensor, I’ve stripped a good bit off the spool to see if that helps and used a spin doctor will see how it goes.

    Thanx Paul for the review, having used the browning sinking feeder mono ,a truly excellent but expensive line ( discontinued now ) £6 per 150 meter spool , I was on the hunt for a replacement feeder line & purchased all 3 breaking strains of the submerge x … used only the 6 lb line a couple of times so far ,but we’ll impressed with it ( and what a great bargain price wise )wanted to try the colmic evolution power line as well (£5 per 200 mtr spools ,rated at 10lb @(20mm. ! ) nowhere in the uk has any in stock when I searched for it recently …. Wjckersley angling UA-cam review …. For reference.👍

    I haven’t tried the mono yet, but use Matrix submerge sinking braid for my Long distance feeder fishing, and have found it very good. I will get a spool of the mono for my short to medium distance fishing and give it a try.

      @@paulstacklereviews1695 I have it on good authority that 0.12 Braid by Nytro is the one to chose. Alan Taylor also endorses this braid and uses it extensively for his distance bream fishing. Most of the venues l fish have a braid ban so l can't pass comment but if Alan Taylor and Tom Pickering use it , its the braid l would buy. Tom Scholey is also about to give it a go. As for the Matrix XD l have ordered some for my method fishing

    Interesting video 🤔 i didn't think there would be a better line than the Preston sinking mono? Even though it does tend to coil no matter how many different ways you try to load your reel ? What's martix line like for pellet waggler fishing in you're option Paul?

      The Submerge is an out and out feeder line for me (and is marketed that way). Diameter is more important with the Pellet Waggler so you can get away with the lightest float possible as thinner diameter line casts further. I use the Horizon x in 6b18lb (0.18mm/0.20mm) for pellet waggler and don’t plan to change.

    Hi Paul. I currently use 8lb Tournament ST and no issues with it. I need to respool my reels soon. You said the Tournament ST is an excellent line, why would you pick the submerge over the Tournament ST? The ST is £16 for over 2300 metres too

    • @paulstacklereviews1695
      @paulstacklereviews1695  9 місяців тому +1

      I liked the ST but it had a ‘flatness’ to its profile, felt a bit braidy if you know what I mean. Over time I felt it didn’t always come off the spool cleanly. It’s also a bit thicker, but due to the profile feels thicker.

      Cheers for the reply Paul. I completely agree with what you are saying. Tempted to give the submerge ago 🙂

    You didnt say paul whether it sinks with effort or without? I use the matrix X but i have found when pressure is applied in a fight playing fish or weight on casting it does coil to the pressure of the rod rings! The Daiwa one you list floats and coils but then it doesnt say whether it floats or sinks it merely states its a good feeder line. I do think this is misleading to customers albeit choosing the word submerge rather than fast sinking line? Do you have any thoughts on this because even tackle shops dont list it in there sales description ? What the hell does X stand for?

    • @paulstacklereviews1695

      It sinks as well as anything I’ve tried, certainly better than Preston, obviously as with all lines it’s better after a couple of sessions rather than when freshly spooled. I’ve not had that issue with the Horizon x which I also use for pellet waggler with big fish. All lines coil a bit (watch any slow mo of a cast), but the Matrix doesn’t have a ‘memory’ like Senor or Maxima does. The Matrix Submerge is marketed as an out and out feeder line, the x is just marketing to make it sound more technical/better!

    Hi Paul, me again. Have ordered some 8lb submerge for feeder. What are your line recommendations for pellet waggler (think I seen you mention 6lb Horizon X?) and for normal waggler, usually colder months for silvers but with the odd carp to potentially double figures. Thank you

    • @paulstacklereviews1695
      @paulstacklereviews1695  9 місяців тому +1

      I think with pellet waggler diameter is important and I use 6lb or 8lb Horizon x. Winter waggler (and maggot feeder) I use Guru Pulse 4lb, not tried many others and I’ve had the same line on for a couple of years and works great. It’s the same diameter as Horizon x 6lb so my choices could be a bit confused. 4lb line for winter with a soft rod is fine for odd big carp.
