As it should be sung. Beautifully with reverence, respect, patriotism, and the voice and diction to do it justice. I'd rather hear the great Kate Smith sing this via recording than almost ANY live "singer" today. It is NOT a bullet moving up the charts. It IS our National Anthem. Also listen to Rosa Ponselle sing this. Spectacular.
I note that this recording was made a few months before the visit of King George and Queen Elisabeth to the USA. I wonder if it is true that President Roosevelt introduced Kate Smith to the King with these words : "Your Majesty, this is America!"
The best
Hats off to America, the land of the free. Long may she continue to lead the world in this idiom. Every best wish from our side of the pond.

Get her back at those Philly games
There are so many horrific renditions these days!
Orchestra and chorus under the direction of Jack Miller.
Thank you!
You're VERY welcome!
This is when America was truly great…..not anymore
Agreed!
