I've lost all interest in secret lair. They either drop an extremely mediocre SL, or they drop a good one that gets all bought up by investors and there's no chance for the player to get one..... So who cares about SL.
The third option is that they drop a mediocre lair in terms of value, but it has a random expensive chase bonus card. Like the Hatsune Miku snapcaster mage.
@@poofle999 theres been a handful of special chase cards in low value lairs. Right off the top, the mana vault in the fallout lair. The snapcaster miku. And the minsc and boo in the dnd lair. It’s becoming less of a rare thing and more of a reoccurring thing that seems to inflate fomo on these lesser value lairs.
I only get the occasional charity drop would be nice if the artist made commission from these secret lairs. They should just rename them all artist series boxes and give them there commission. Least then wed have a reason to buy these
What do you mean, the Miku ones are guaranteed gone in a few hours, the Ghostbusters ones are probably going to do well off of nostalgia alone(see the Monty Python one), and Peach Momoko is one of the hottest selling comic artists right now(her variant covers are very popular right now). All of those I can easily see selling out in the first day.
Last standard SL I bought was Yoji Shinkawa drop. Most are just buying 4-5 cards at or way above retail price. Or yknow directly competing with local game stores. The thing keeping magic alive.
Foil prices completly overblown, they wont be worth that much since most of the expensive ones get carried by a ridiculous foil multiplier on a single card that was only printed in foil once
I just really am curious on where you got these price numbers from. Cause from what I saw on TCGPlayer, the non foil ghostbuster and duskmourn cards were priced way more than the foils
It’s just the Ghostbusters brand that’s making them expensive. I wouldn’t blame MTG here since you can just buy the regular versions of the cards for less.
They are going to be on the Secret Lair website (I think tomorrow). Each set is $29.99 in nonfoil and $39.99 in foil. They are limited print run so they might sell out so if you really want it, you probably want to be there when it goes live.

Im sorrybut the only crossover theyshould have done is a Jason Vorhees. Friday the 13th was a week before pre release, its the 40th anniversary of the final chapter, and they even name the SL drop a camp like seriously Im disappointed. The only card I want in this is doom whisper other than that. I think they seriously dropped the ball if they wanted to go horror sci fi they should have done alien.
It's not stupid at all. It provides useful information so people can consider just buying the non Secret Lair card, or shoveling out extra money for special art that may, or may not, be worth very much more than the original.
@@Rockjay288 its bad to view it that way though bc with fallout everyone said buyout vault boy bc it had the most value on the secondary market while the other 2 fallout drops from that set sell a ton because of commander staples and vault boy rarely sells

I love how the koma error made them lower the price of the drop like what they did with circular logic😅
Wow, like a whole 10% off of a $30 purchase...

i think they already did that some time ago
Pretty sure that was either last year or two years ago
Maybe next year, and they can do a secret lair of the jolly balloon man with Junji art specifically.
