Even though I do not belong to the niche field, as a parent I can foresee teachers implement our thoughts in their ideas. The idea that could mutually resonate would be to first untag the "new teacher" label on the very first day of new session; this could be challenging yet fun. So, the idea is -that there could be a musical, interactive introduction right at the start of session. The unexpected song may have the names of pupils arranged alphabetically, therefore a personal intro to each and all in a song. This will be more fun for preschoolers. Later, teacher can bring an item exclusive for each kid, as it'd be the item that matches the starting letter of their names. The result could be that the hesitation of communicating with a stranger on the first day would ease out and kids will look forward to meet their new fun companion everyday. Hope it sounds fun! Thank you. P.S. This is a random thought and may or may not be a right fit for teachers, considering certain adhering strategies they would use. On another note, keep uplifting the spirits. Great ideas. Great tips. I would introduce myself .welcome them to their class. Introduce them the name and class of the school. Then interact about their holidays. Their favourite cartoon, cartoon characters, food they enjoyed, special food. What they love doing at home. Etc. They get to know each other.
Nice ideas ma'am My idea: I would ask the students to dress up with a accessory according to the meaning their name. Ex: khushi could wear a smiley mask ☺

My idea of an activity...is asking the children to plant a sapling on the first day..in a small pot, (which ever they like, money plant, tulasi etc) Every day they attend the class, should attend with that plant...,🌱🌿🌲

Now my answer to ur question is I will inform them in advance say for example ...one day before ......that they hv online party for which ..they hv to dress up properly with available things at home...i vl provide them a theme and they hv to dress up according to the provided theme ........i vl inform my class that I hv one prize for those who will win the activity. ... Theme will keep them in continues thinking process by which they want to present themselves.. Before the class and.... Prize vl keep them active during clss. e. g.... Having virtual clown party..... All students vl dress up like a clown and teacher vl also be dress up like clown.i think it may be one idea in keeping them active.

Day 1, planned these activities for my class -claps -Apple, banana, orange - Memory challenge game - Action- Opposite game - Minute to win it - Children should collect and show any 10 different items with red colour in 1 minute - Different dance moves - Floss,shoot,orange justice,moon walk,wiggle, free style ... - Sing along - Played the song Do re mi Children loved them all👍

As everyone loves gifts so at the very first we should ask about their names and we should play a little game with the first letter of their names more like an Antacshari Then we should let them introduce themselves in their ways and i personally would love to hear about their hobbies and likings and would request them to show a little bit of it if they wants. At the end we should ask them that what have they learnt from that day and if there is something that they want to add in their day to day life from the next day.

The idea which i comes ma mind is teacher just start singing a single line and ask the other one to fill the next line and it goes on with the entire students in the line .the students can fill the line acording to their wish bt the only demand is it should have a tune.

Being a kindergarten teacher, I'll try to invest my first day of online class to built rapport with my students to make them comfortable throughout the session. For that I'll take Hello or welcome song followed by warm up game .then I'll give my intro in a creative way to set the example for my kids intro through an amazing activity. Then Roll call and date, day discussion at the end I'll tell a wonderful story with moral values n quiz will be there related to story for kid's then We ll say a good bye song at the end.

The answer to your question ,according to me the very first day of the class firstly will make kids comfortable by reciting rhymes, narrating story with props and few activities with them it can be gross motor like throw the ball in basket, or pass the ball etc. We keep some theme like dress up in your favorite character. After they enter the meeting, I will unmute them one by one and make them share their experiences in the vacation. This will make them feel happy and connected to me. After that we will play a game so that they can enjoy their first day of online schooling at the most.
Lovely idea which I have chosen is warm-up and wishing rhymes. In the first day of my class I like to give question to them, 1. Guss first alphabet of my name. 2. who can be loud and long laugh in one breathe.😀
