I think it’s a good tank, US 5ish BR range needed another 90 that could actually do something in uptiers, it’s constant upteirs for 5.3-5.7 BR and having something besides the anemic 76 that can firepower wise at least match what you need to face is nice. We already have our saving grace in the M36, but nice to have a non-open top 90
It's terrible though. Its a worthless over-br'd "heavy" tank that was and still is DOA. It belongs at 5.3 maximum, ideally 5.0. This thing is absolutely terrible and as expected is even worse than the 76mm versions. They're only "heavy" tanks in their abysmal speed and weight, their armor is abysmally bad besides the turret. It cant be angled either. How gaijin thinks this pile of shit belongs at 5.7 must require a heavy dosage of incompetence or mentally inhibiting drugs. US 90mm's should be standard at 5.7 and should be sprinkled in "coming into play" earlier than that. But hey it just goes with the trend of the rest of the US tree, "USA Tax" on 95% of vehicles, 95% of vehicles being over-br'd. Its just another dogshit "tank" to add to that list.

Saw a post on reddit earlier about how the armor isn't correctly modeled. I doubt it'd still be competitive even with the armor upgrade. This is as DOA as the A-10C
Suffers from the same problem as the SU25 SM(?) with the fact that the ONLY REASON it's 11.3 is because it has R73 missiles. By the time you get to the battlefield everything is dead and you have 6 missiles on you. A10C will never see play as it's damn near useless in Air RB and next to useless in Ground RB since the second you pull it out you will have 7 pantsir missiles on you. Not to mention that gayjin loves to do the whole "if the trees aren't rendered in you can't lock this target" So 20km lock/launch range does nothing for the agms too.
It's heavily over-br'd just like the rest of the tree, it could hardly justify 5.3, let alone 5.7. Its a mediocre 4.7 tank with an average gun that somehow justifies it being 5.7? It belongs at 5.0.
The T1E1 90 is just an m36b2 (minus open top and heats), not played it yt, but reverse steering cuz not frontal armor and best to be used as a flanker. Lack of stabiliser reduces its effectiveness at CQC. Also my biggest worry is facing a tiger 2 in this, (almost NO way i penning a tiger 2 frontal turrt let) - this where a M36b2 Heatfs would a been useful. Alternatively l, I could aim 4 cannon barrel, but you even argue that the T1E1 76 w/ stab will be more efficient at this So to summarise: - Downtiers: An excellent starting tank (2nd to the jumbo) - Uptiers: Put on hold till absolutely necessary

I think of it like armourder M36. Close range - 76mm with stabilizer for sure does better, it has just enough of pen for everything if you know how to used it. But med-long range, that additional pen makes a difference, plus the platform even tho bit obsolete for 5.7 - can still survive more than m36 for sure, and that awesome reverse can save your ass 😁 not my usual br tbh, but I'll spade it for sure, quite fun overall ;)
I am just happy that there is another 90mm that doesn't have paper armor, or just an over BRed 75-76mm Sherman variant. The only other 90mm tanks at this tier and at the same BR or lower are M36s. I love them, but this also makes me happy.
I love it. I love the 5.3 76 version and I'm loving this one. Having an actual gun on a tank at 5.7 as US feels amazing and the reverse gear is amazing just as the 5.3 version.
Planes are a constant annoyance, especially around this BR as planes get better bombs or better guns to deal with armor, especially lightly armored vehicles like the M36. Having the firepower of an M36 while also having the armor to not get instantly deleted by machineguns and overpressure is a huge deal for me. And if you do find a good spot to snipe with this thing, the armor on the turret will only be beneficial compared to sniping with an M36.
I am concerned this thing will get pushed up to 6.0, being the only US 90mm appropriately at Tiger H1 BR that isn't cursed with being a convertible foil ball in clicker meta. Not dying instantly to every explosion and spamming automatic cannon is a HUGE buff when you actually have a gun that acts less like a nerf bat.
It’s a heavy, but it’s not really. Play it like a sniper medium tank. Peak, shoot and scoot back with that superior reverse speed. It can peek hills quite nicely thanks to its size and range is your friend. You can use the 37 to bait enemies to peek at rangereally good too

Its a shit medium tank at most.
I think this tank should be lowered to 5.3 at least because it doesn’t get a HEAT round. On another topic, the Sherman Jumbo with 76mm should be dropped to 5.7 from 6.0. I played some matches yesterday at BR 5.7 and was constantly up tiered fighting hoards of tigers and panthers coupled with t34-85s and IS tanks

This tank is not worth the trouble. Soft armor at 5.7 is not worth having the non stabilized 90mm gun. Its just a large target for Tigers and King Tigers

it's better than Cobra King/Normal Jumbo, because of the gun alone. It can actually fight Tigers and Panthers frontally, Jumbo cannot (with cupola nerf incoming).
I will say it's there only because of APHE shell balancing. Normal Jumbo won't do much in uptier, while this actually might fight Panthers and Tigers frontally (with cupola nerf incoming), so yeah, it has a place. ;)
I would say T1E1 90mm is basically the same deal as M4/T26, both have 90 mm but without stabilizer and both have their counterpart 0.3 BR lower with "smaller" gun but with stabilizer.
So, here's the thing from my point of view as someone that plays Ground AB when I play ground. I'm not going to compare it to the 5.3 version cause I'd use them completely differently. the 76 mm armed T1E1 with it's stabilizer is a tank where I'm going to be on the move more - if I encounter something I have issues penning from the front I'm trying to flank it and am playing more aggressively. Where the 90 mm version would actually compete is against my 6.3 BR Sherman Jumbo with a 76 mm. The T1E1 has slightly better mobility at the cost of armour, albeit I find battles in that range are less close range fuels and more long range fights unless you actually end up in a city map or section that forces close fights. The Sherman only gets APCR unlike the M41 and what not around it with a measly 190 mm max penetration. And while true, the T1E1 caps out at 185 mm - it's 185 mm with an explosive filler so it'll pen most of the same things, and more likely take it out the first hit. And even if going vs the lower version with the stabilizer - there are times whether it's Arcade physics or not I put 76 mm rounds in to the ammo rack or right through the front of a tiger - and don't knock it out because some crew member survives or the ammo doesn't detonate - so a 90 mm is more likely to ensure that doesn't happen, but again, would likely also be getting played more like an up-armoured TD than a run in and knock them out tank. But I'd say it's purpose is to give 6.0 and higher line ups a heavy tank that can actually punch better in up tiers till you get the T26 - which I'd argue teh first one at least is a little over BR'd as is the 76 mm armed heavy Sherman. But so to I'd argue is the 90 mm armed T1E1 a bit over BR maybe.
This tank is basicaly in similar niche as french ARL-44. However it has less pen and armor than the ARL. This seems to be offset by godly reverse speed and aphe. To be fair, this seems like 5.3 tank.
Tiger 2 h sla.16 is the only heavy staying at 6.7. IS6 got moved up to 7.7 (which is ridiculous because the IS3 can stop a missile, but the IS6 cannot. T29 got moved up to 7.0… i wish they would all back down to 6.7 that be the day
The 90mm is great but I definitely miss its stabilizer, kinda sad to see the thing is just alright. Also I was the guy that recognized you on the sun city map 🙂
I don’t know. Everybody uses Tiger 2 H as argument whenever there is perceived balance issue. I never had problem with it. Most of the time when I encounter Tiger 2 H it just shows side of turret at some point and get oneshotted into ammo. Regarding 90mm I think it is more fitting for big tank like this. 76mm feels kinda funny on such a big tank.
I agree. I have never had an issue with any Tiger variant as long as I had a 90mm. On the other hand, I haven't had too many issues with them even with smaller guns. Tiger players know "W", left mouse button. Its like the back or side of their ammo is always exposed.

Lower front plate is a perfect shot for anything using a KV chassis like the ISU barring rare variants of the IS-2 with an uparmored lower front plate. I eat KV-s for breakfast all day with the Sherman's 75mm. It's a reliable shot with pure AP too.
Honestly, the T1E1 is better at 5.3 with the 76, The stabilizer does wonders with it and it works good at the alright US 5.3 lineup; But the 90mm at 5.7 is not that great. The 5.7 lineup is pretty meh given it can face 6.7 heavies, And none of the major tanks you can pen with the 90 are enemies you can't pen with the 76. The loss of the Stabilzier hurts it plenty, and given it's lack of armor, Really it just reaches the same point as the archer or the sturer emil, where you simply have "Too much gun" it starts to become a problem rathed than a benefit.
Just saying With T25 being nerfed to shit(mobility got nerfed, never fixed) and then still never got the lower BR after the stabilizer removed, you can see how Gayjin hate 90mm with stabilizers That aside T1E1 90mm offers.... 3x .50cals 1x 37mm 1x 90mm Where it's a heavy tank with decent stability and mobility but a Heavy tank cost Where as you can also have..... M36 Jackson M36B2 Jackson with a 7.0 M46's 90mm HEATFS While both can be overpressure from HE rounds and Artillery, they got TD spawn cost and both get uptier Honestly... 76mm with stabilizers works great in flanking route and that's what you should do 90mm without stabilizers.....your better chance is at Sniping/Ambushing instead of pushing out

For a lot of the complaints about this vehicle: Ever try the german tree? Uptiers, no stabalizers and high risk of getting one-shot in heavies are the norm there as you probably know lol.
To me you sound like a general in the US army during the 40s. "we don't need the 76mm. The 75 is doing just fine for us". Gave me a chuckle I haven't played it yet but the m6 used to be amazing at 4.7 where you could fight kv1s but were mostly bottom tier due to the tigers. After all the br adjustments, I don't really see this as being bad. I don't really see 4.3-5.3 games often, usually its a mash of 4.7-5.7 or even 5.0-6.0. But having the ability to go through German armor easily is a big plus in the 5.0-6.7 range. While the t1 with the 76 can go through a tiger through the front in a 5.7 game, sometimes its funky and you bounce. Having the extra 30 some mm helps. If this goes to 6.0 then yeah definitely not worth it

It’s crazy to think that this and the panthers play in the same br range. Apart from the reverse speed, the panthers are better in almost every way.
Problem is the players sadly. My German teammates doesn't use their superior tanks to their Advantage

So it has the Archer paradox, at a certain point more firepower just doesn't do anything, infact it just starts being it's own downside.

I use the T1E1 76 as backup for my jumbo 75 so the 0.4 br increase doesnt matter and the 90mm helps alot

The 90mm is great but I definitely miss its stabilizer, kinda sad to see the thing is just alright. Also I was the guy that recognized you on the sun city map 🙂
I don’t know. Everybody uses Tiger 2 H as argument whenever there is perceived balance issue. I never had problem with it. Most of the time when I encounter Tiger 2 H it just shows side of turret at some point and get oneshotted into ammo.
Regarding 90mm I think it is more fitting for big tank like this. 76mm feels kinda funny on such a big tank.
I agree. I have never had an issue with any Tiger variant as long as I had a 90mm. On the other hand, I haven't had too many issues with them even with smaller guns. Tiger players know "W", left mouse button. Its like the back or side of their ammo is always exposed.
im a big enjoyed of the regular T1E1 so i very much love this IF it stays at 5.7 , if gaijin does their usual BS with the american ground vehicles around this BR and push it up higher for no reason then id be very mad , this is basically just a worse tiger 1 with a full reverse gear it is perfectly fine at 5.7 don't you dare push it up gaijin , and while your at push the damn shershing down to 5.7 as well that thing has no right being at 6.0

Lower front plate is a perfect shot for anything using a KV chassis like the ISU barring rare variants of the IS-2 with an uparmored lower front plate. I eat KV-s for breakfast all day with the Sherman's 75mm. It's a reliable shot with pure AP too.

Honestly, the T1E1 is better at 5.3 with the 76, The stabilizer does wonders with it and it works good at the alright US 5.3 lineup; But the 90mm at 5.7 is not that great. The 5.7 lineup is pretty meh given it can face 6.7 heavies, And none of the major tanks you can pen with the 90 are enemies you can't pen with the 76. The loss of the Stabilzier hurts it plenty, and given it's lack of armor, Really it just reaches the same point as the archer or the sturer emil, where you simply have "Too much gun" it starts to become a problem rathed than a benefit.

With T25 being nerfed to shit(mobility got nerfed, never fixed) and then still never got the lower BR after the stabilizer removed, you can see how Gayjin hate 90mm with stabilizers

For a lot of the complaints about this vehicle: Ever try the german tree? Uptiers, no stabalizers and high risk of getting one-shot in heavies are the norm there as you probably know lol.

I haven't played it yet but the m6 used to be amazing at 4.7 where you could fight kv1s but were mostly bottom tier due to the tigers. After all the br adjustments, I don't really see this as being bad. I don't really see 4.3-5.3 games often, usually its a mash of 4.7-5.7 or even 5.0-6.0. But having the ability to go through German armor easily is a big plus in the 5.0-6.7 range.
While the t1 with the 76 can go through a tiger through the front in a 5.7 game, sometimes its funky and you bounce. Having the extra 30 some mm helps. If this goes to 6.0 then yeah definitely not worth it

A worthless over-br'd "heavy" tank that was and still is DOA. It belongs at 5.3 maximum, ideally 5.0. This thing is absolutely terrible and as expected is even worse than the 76mm versions. They're only "heavy" tanks in their abysmal speed and weight, their armor is abysmally bad besides the turret. It cant be angled either. How gaijin thinks this pile of shit belongs at 5.7 must require a heavy dosage of incompetence or mentally inhibiting drugs.
I absolutely don't understand the point you were trying to make in this uptier rant. Are you saying there are hidden factors in down up tiering? Like firepower? Not just BR? Not just nation spread in the matchmaker?
