Thank you for your tips. I am LOVING the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. I am 72 years old and have been wearing concealer since I was a teenager. I have very dark under eye circles, always have (hereditary). I have tried every and I do mean every concealer, both drugstore and high end. Nothing seems to fully cover and seems to melt away. Powders always looks cakey and accentuate lines. I decided to try MAC after viewing one of your UA-cam videos. It’s probably the only brand I’ve never used. Before I apply the concealer, I use MAC under eye cream and MAC eye primer and then a corrector, waiting a few minutes between applying each product. Thanks to you, I’ve finally found my concealer and don’t know why no one mentions it on UA-cam. Thank you, Lisa!!❤
Wow this was an absolutely phenomenal video Lisa. I’ve been struggling so much with my dark circles. I have a lot of lines and nothing is working for me anymore. The dark bruise and light pantyhose analysis was BRILLIANT. Excellent excellent job! I learned so much even as a makeup artist myself.
I was actually applying concealer when this popped up so I held off until I could follow your tips, Lisa. Spraying my Angie's cat paw concealer brush with setting spray (CaliRay), works best for my 74 yr old under eyes. No powder out there has looked good and I've tried a multitude.
AWESOME INFO! I have been looking for a new routine to reduce wrinkles and lines without turning to Botox. we all get older and want to look the best we can. Your new ideas and your new products look wonderful and I can’t wait to try them. This information was so valuable. Thank you for what you do in trying to show women how to look their best each day. 👍
Thank you I love these tips especially about not putting too much product and the setting spray. I’m going to try that before I try it with the powder because at 58 I can no longer get anything to work.
Thank you Lisa, love your videos. I’m an aesthetician & I notice many, in fact most, tutorials showing application of products under the eye, incorrectly. You should never swipe from the nose to the outer eye when applying anything. You should always apply products from the outer corner of the eye, toward the nose. The reason is that the muscles under that very delicate skin are attached to the bone on the inner corner of the eye. When you swipe away from where the muscle is connected, you loosen & pull the muscle, causing sagging & wrinkling. Always swipe toward the nose in the under eye area, and away from the nose on the upper eyelids.
I dont swipe but I tap my product in under the eye but away from the nose. Is that also bad or is it only if you swipe? I've always been terrified to rub or swipe
@@ashleybullard1285 Try using the pointed end of a small, damp beauty blender to tap it in. Tap back & forth until it’s blended. Tapping it in is definitely better than swiping. 🥰
Thank you for the tips. I only use moisturizer and sun screen. I have dark puffy under eyes. Which part/parts of your advice would look the best since that is all I would be using. Thank you
dear Lisa. i have a tik in my eye, so my mascara smears. i started using water resistance mascara, and i put also makeup set spray, but sometimes it still smears. any more tips?
I do my skincare quickly in the morning and apply my makeup when I get to work. I love the suggestion of a simple HA serum to refresh under the eye. Never considered that. I have the Bobbi brown color corrector (when I remember to use it) and just ordered the new one from DMTGY that’s getting good reviews
Lisa, what is your opinion on color correctors as far as how to choose shade. I always use a peach but it never works. I use good concealers but they don't help much with darkness since correctors aren't neutralizing the dark. I came across an influencer that said you should choose the shade based on how dark your circles are, not your skin tone. I'm beginning to think that's true since peach never works for me. Do you recommend a particular luxury product?
Hi sweet Lisa. Thank you, as always, for some great tips. Being over a certain age, my undereyes are always dry. Your tips are quite helpful. I can't stand a rich undereye cream. Seems like they irritate my eyes. I definitely agree about an undereye corrector. I have a peachy/red discoloration under my eyes vs dark circles, so I try to use a cooler corrector. What would you suggest? Of course, I can't have normal dark circles. It's frustrating. Love the idea of bringing the concealer up on the outer corners of the eyes for a lifting effect. Thanks Lisa. Have a wonderful Sunday!❤🥰❤
Every makeup artist seems to put way more concealer than I use and mine still draws attention to the wrinkles. But I have hallow dark eyes so I'm still trying to figure out the best way to apply. I have Natasha Denona concealer and Trisha McVoy instant eye lift.
In your video with Marnie, you tried the Colleen Rothschild illuminating under eye cream and the Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift. I'm not sure if they would work together or if I should use one or the other. Do you have a preference between the two? Thank you for the informative video and for all your help!
These tips are very helpful. I hate using powder after I use concealer but I do have that Jane Iredale Pommist spray, so I will try that trick. I guess from here I just wonder where you are in your make up applying sequence. Do you apply concealer before your foundation face make up or after it?
Omg I love the pantyhose analogy 😂😂😂 I’m going to try remoisturizing the undereye , I have the NARs concealer in the pot and it’s just been too drying for me
Hi Lisa. Are you saying to let your skincare and eye cream sink in and dry and then apply corrector. Or, are you saying that when your skincare has been on for awhile you add the serum to plump it up again, and then go right in with the corrector?
I have a question. If I apply sunscreen after my moisturizer and allow that to dry down 15 minutes like I think Angie from Hot and Flashy recommends do I then still apply something right before concealer?
I feel like I’m doing what you recommend but I ALWAYS end up with what looks like flaky skin under my eyes! Am I using too much product or not letting things set properly before adding another product?
I am the same way. No matter how I prep my under eyes and whatever concealer I use, as soon as I put it on (in a patting motion with my finger or a concealer brush) I end up with flaky looking skin under my eyes, and it looks so bad I have to remove it. But I really need concealer in this area due to darker veins in the corner of my eyes and uneven pigmentation underneath my eyes. I’ve tried it using very little concealer, but it still happens. Any suggestions Lisa?
Lisa, my under eye issue is the "hollow" shadow that my eye bags create. I try to conceal the hollow with a corrector first. At that point, would you follow with concealer in the hollow only? I don't feel I have any darkness under my eyes otherwise. I would love your recommendation. Thanks so much!! Great tips!!
Hi Debbie! Yes, in your case a brighter concealer might help as it will make that area putrude more and look less hollow- that is to say if there isn’t darkness there otherwise
i have the elf power grip primer and i like it, but it makes me look super shiny. im using the sephora best skin ever liquid foundation. do you have any recs on a primer i can use with this to keep me looking more matt and keep my makeup **on**? in the past i've tried the milk pore eclipse primer but it clashed with this foundation and made me dry/flakey/peel. thank you!
Hi Lisa I also have the same request, would you tell us the shade you use for the Natasha denona concealer? I’m struggling to find the right shade and I want to try it thank you !!
Hey Lisa, I was just thinking and maybe it's one of those captain obvious questions but what do you think about making a "color theory" of makeup video. In college I was in a color theory class and I just thought of that in terms of explaining some color theory to your viewers. Just a suggestion. :) After watching this, I was thinking man...I would like her to do my makeup for a special event. Lol
Have you tried the Natasha Denona Hy-Glam corrector? I’ve been using that. Everyone raves about the concealer (which I use and love) but I haven’t seen anyone try the corrector.
How about hydrating after spf. Normally, I'll wait a while after my skincare routine. Can I still use a HA, or another hydrating product, before I start with my make up
I use the Bobbi Brown dark circle corrector stick. I like that one. I hear that is being discontinued though. .... but who knows for sure. I bought another one just in case!
Thanks Lisa! I am still having problems with concealer . I have tried many concealers…many that you have recommended. Bought the Prisme Libre-great setting powder. Trying all these steps today!
I have yet to find a setting powder that doesn’t darken my concealer. I can color correct, used a hydrating brightening concealer and as soon as I powder set, it erases all the work I just did. Even some foundation powders will darken my eye concealer. Banana powder, brightening powders, translucent, lighter foundation powder, givenchy, and huda pink powder.. all haven’t worked. The only thing that kind of works is NYX no filter finishing powder in porcelain.. and that’s getting hard to find. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions? Sending love
ladies, need advice - eyeshadow question. Why is it when I apply eyeshadow (I use a primer) that my color just looks dirty/muddled and I cannot see the actual pigmentation. I don't think it's the shadow itself - I am using Tarte - is it the brushes? My brushes are clean. Any ideas?? thank you in advance
Great tips and I really appreciate you making this video. But let's be honest, your face doesn't have anything worth hiding--I didn't see any dark circles before you started! But I'm not gonna hold it against you for being pretty and perfect. 😄 I won't say my age, but I googled yours (sorry!) and I'm exactly 1 month younger than you. I'd kill to have skin as healthy and flawless as yours, but unfortunately I haven't yet found a way to transmogrify a murder victim into a more beautiful face for myself, so instead of killing I'm settling for the next best thing: makeup. And it just so happens that my biggest area of need is under my eyes. Being a dude (a straight one if it matters), I would argue that it's considerably more important for my ego and my reputation that I learn to apply it properly. With your help, I hope to avoid looking like I hired Tammy Faye Bakker to apply my makeup with nothing more than leather mittens and a prayer. Wish me luck!

That is a great formula Joyce, thanks for sharing! And a little goes a long way. its full coverage so you don't a lot which is nice!
Aww thanks friend!! That saying has stuck with me for 20 years after my boss at MAC told me that once, it’s so true!
I was actually applying concealer when this popped up so I held off until I could follow your tips, Lisa. Spraying my Angie's cat paw concealer brush with setting spray (CaliRay), works best for my 74 yr old under eyes. No powder out there has looked good and I've tried a multitude.

Great tip on setting spray!!

Great video , now how about one for eye bags, mine drive me crazy!
YES
Your tips are always so good and they work ❤❤❤
Wet n Wild makes a hydrating primer serum that is amazing for under the eyes. Works really well with concealer.
Great video Lisa. Appreciate all of the tips.
Great video on concealer application! Thanks!!!

Wow…72 years young here and always learning something new. Your technique makes complete sense. Thanks for the tip😊💄

Glad you like them! Thank you for watching!
Very helpful, Lisa! I have super dry eyes that tend to water so this was much-needed!! 😊❤
Great tips, Lisa! ❤❤ That’s how I do my concealer but I will try the setting spray lightly on the brush!
Very helpful tips! Thank you so much!
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for the awesome tips I really needed to know all these tips bc I struggle with these steps. can't wait to try them ❤
Thank you for the tips. I only use moisturizer and sun screen. I have dark puffy under eyes. Which part/parts of your advice would look the best since that is all I would be using. Thank you
Thanks for the great tips as always! What is your eyeshadow at the end? It's gorgeous!
dear Lisa. i have a tik in my eye, so my mascara smears. i started using water resistance mascara, and i put also makeup set spray, but sometimes it still smears. any more tips?
Oh my gosh you are amazing. Finally someone giving advice that is professional
Must try that. Thanks,Lisa

Beautiful thanks for the great tip.❤

Can you go over your skincare
Thanks for sharing these tips. I usually let the concealer set a couple minutes before blending.
I'm so very grateful for you !
That’s a great tip too! I’m grateful for you too Lena 🩷

Hi Lisa, what do you recommend for hyperpigmentation underneath your eyes that is brown? Thank you.
Thank you for your tutorials. I love makeup but struggle putting it on. 😊
Thank you for watching 💖
Great tips...thank you.
Thank you lisa👍👍👍
I never use spray, maybe I will try. Thanks Lisa for all your great tips xo
A lot of these I’ve not seen before. These are the tips I want… not the old, recreated new TT versions that everyone already knows about.
What color do you use in the ND without a self tan?? ❤

Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Loved this Lisa. Now I’d I could figure how to put lipliner on that doesn’t make me look
Like a clown since my lips
Aren’t perfectly symmetrical
❤❤❤❤❤Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thanks Lisa! I am still having problems with concealer . I have tried many concealers…many that you have recommended. Bought the Prisme Libre-great setting powder. Trying all these steps today!

Always learn something from your content! Did I miss the joke, or is there really a word spelled “magig”?

You might want to try a different primer.
What ever concealer i use my under eyes look so creasy & old 😢
Why are so many of the brush sets sold out?
😊❤
never can find a good concealer= or shouldnt you use one if not much discoloration ?
Btw, I must use waterproof concealer & eye makeup as my eyes water due to allergies. Which is your favorite waterproof concealer?
