How to fix a faulty touchpad on a PS4 controller

I had a ps4 controller that I thought worked fine, when you pressed the touchpad it clicked and selected.
However, when I was playing the last of us 2 and I needed to play the guitar by dragging my finger along it it never worked.
I bought a replacement part from aliexpress: www.aliexpress...
It is a quick and easy repair, shouldn't take more then 10mins!

I am presently experiencing a touch pad mistouch. The mouse suddenly pops up even without me touching it. It disrupts my gameplay. I want to either totally remove that annoying touch pad or destroy it. Or detach.

i removed that white wire looking thing, the mouse icon still pops up when i click the touch pad but it doesnt pop up when i swipe. kinda worked

Didnt work for me. It has something to do with the mainboard in the controller. Any suggesttions?

I know when it starts getting to mainboard chip replacements it gets a bit pricey and not cost effective

I know it sounds obvious but all I can think is make sure its pushed in fully? Also make sure its pushed in the right way, I mean that the cable has not twisted around?

How is this “fixing” ?
You replaced the whole unit
If i wanted to buy part id buy a new controller the idea is to fix the existing unit

replacing the whole unit means he bought a new controller. You can buy these parts for $5, so it is much easier to do this than to check the continuity of the whole board and try to fix the current touchpad. If you clean the touchpad PCB and port, and it still doesn't work, then you should just replace it.

My brother in Christ, repairs require replacing parts in almost anything. When you repair a car, you often need car parts to... I mean, use your brain ffs.
