Good morning JD, Really enjoy your show by the way my name is Dennis and I am from England the UK could you please let me know where you got your engine shed from as I am very interested in purchasing one I would like the information many thanks keep the good work up unfortunately obviously been from England I can’t see you at the York show but I’m hoping to get over there one year when the York show is on thanks again Dennis.
Hello Dennis, thanks for tuning in from across the pond. I think I found it at a train store a long time ago. Atlas was making it at the time. Your best bet to finding one would probably be ebay
I appreciate the NS livery. Not boring to me. Looks like you have a pile of treasure invested in your “empire.” A very sound investment. Have fun at York. Good to see you younger gents in the hobby. You , Katy boy (RBP).
Great video! I walked past you a couple of times at York yesterday. I didn't want to bug you! You guys always have so many people around you! I could do this same video with postwar turbines and berks. I really like buying variations so I totally understand your, "not having a problem" as I "don't" have the same problem...
I really like seeing someone else in O scale who is able to limit themselves to one railroad and isn’t so easily influenced by what they see in the store leading to a huge random collection of engines, eras, and paint schemes that don’t correlate to each other in the slightest. A unified collection is so much more easy on the eye and more realistic. Keep at it!
Granted, I'm in N scale, but am I gonna run a Pennsy 4-4-0 on my layout that is a loose representation of modern-era Brooklyn, NY, when steam locomotives have been banned within city limits since at least the 1920s? Damn right I am! lol
@@JDStucks I myself am going to do a layout based off of a combination of futuristic, retro futuristic and modern stuff. One important thing about it was that for the most part with the exception of Amtrak and union pacific none of the modern class ones would exist in the same form or at all. For example, New York Central conrail Burlington, northern and Norfolk, and western, would still exist. However, I decided that since I like the modern Norfolk southern black paint scheme I was going to have that the original Norfolk Southern was still around, although I would use models pertaining to both the original Norfolk Southern and the modern one as if they were having a brand new modern paint scheme. Imagine how Santa Fe used both the yellow bonnet and the red war bonnet in the 1990s. That basically would be similar to how I would mix modern and original Norfolk Southern rollingstock together. What are some suggestions as to how I might do the able to mix the two together without having one being too predominant over the other?
All power too you JD i also model NS and the most incompetent rail road in history The (P)enniless (C)entral LOL, i am in HO scale.i like all scales,i enjoy watching you videos.
Thank you for another fun episode, Jason! I grew up enjoying black and white locos when the NW rode those same tracks where you enjoyed NS 😊👍OH! PS Agree that you don't have a problem 😆
I'm just starting my collection and I have the same mentality lol. Plus I railfan a lot when I get off work and my poison is the AGS South here in Birmingham.
Very nice! I don't care what anyone else thinks... Basic black and white works great 👍 The SD40E is cool. Thanks for another great video Jason! P.S. love seeing the continued progress on the layout.
The only thing missing is a couple high hood SD40-2 Southern engines. I do see a few Union Pacific and CSX running on the NS lines as well. Nice collection.
Thanks for showing Jason. I am located in New Jersey and my son and I are PRR ,Conrail and now NS followers. We actually just pre ordered our first black and white NS Rail King Dash 8. This will go with our PRR, Conrail trains and kind of completes a little history of different rail names( We only need a Penn Central for that). I also ordered that book I mentioned to you Norfolk Southern at 40. Keep up the good work
Great video! Wish I could come meet y'all at York! I have to say that is kind of mind-blowing that MTH has produced 22 different NS engines. I think I would have to combine my MoPac and Katy units to come close to hitting that. If you count the Lionel and Atlas models then I might be able to give you a run for your money. ;-) Are there any they made you still don't have? Thanks for the fun look at your collection! ~Ricky
Congrats , I think U have all the engines NS actually has LOL LOL. Great collection and video as always. Looking forward to seeing you and the others at York on Saturday.
I like your NS collection. There very tough looking with mostly black paint. I have the WSOR at the back of my property so I have a lot of WSOR. I also have a lot of Milwaukee Road being a Wisconsin guy. I’m glad your able to make light of being kidded about your boring locomotives.
'Boring' is a relative term, Jason, and does not apply to you or your collection in my view. I'll admit that steam locos will always be my favourite, even with the history of environmental damage they did over the centuries, but your knowledge of railroad history and the economic function railroads provide to the general good of society worldwide, your interest in the models you collect and how the road names fit into your own experience is what makes your UA-cam channel a must see for anyone interested in O gauge or O scale collecting and running a model railroad layout at its best. Thanks for taking us along!
Wellhello there Jason did you say BORING trains Jason we both know that not having trains is BORING but having TRAINS IS NOT BORING YOU R NOT A BORING TRAIN FELLA GOD BLESS ENJOY YORK PA GOD BLESS STAY SAFE ;-)
Love Norfolk Southern. Being in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania the main line from Altoona to Harrisburg runs though Lewistown, my home town, so I can see all kinds of train activities.
Just a heads up for you 5:42 SD50 telling its long hood forwards by conductor's figure looking long hood wise is true but FRA Rules all locomotives since the 50's has to have a "F" at the stairwell to indicate Front for Crews. Best Norfolk Southern unit you have is the Ex-Conrail SD80Mac 5,000hp with wide radiator self-steering trucks and largest wheels of all Diesel locomotives Proformance is unmatched.
Love NS! I’m in the same boat as you. I got back into trains in 2016 and Ive behind and playing catch up, When Mike announced his retirement from MTh. It didn’t dawn on me to buy locomotives. Now I’ve been frantically searching for NS SD70ace’s. Can’t find any. I might have to settle for another roadname. I gave up my search for the MTH Premiere Virginian heritage unit. That is my grand unicorn.
Love the NS. My favorite existing railroad! (In my world, Chessie System lives on as a regional switcher operation). I'm a little surprised you don't have more than one Dash-9, since NS has/had over 1,000 in the fleet... But I suppose you may have gotten in after the models were in production and more readily available. Beautiful collection! Thanks for sharing! :D
Great collection! I am an NS fan myself, that's all I have in my collection except for 1 CSX sd40-2. You just can't beat the basic black and white design.
I don’t think it’s boring. Don’t get me wrong I love steam locomotives. But I like diesels more. In fact I wish there was a O Scale 2 Rail club somewhere around North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where I live and I can’t seem to find any. Sorry nothing against 3 Rail I just like 2 Rail better. 🤓
Personally I like Southern Pacific daylight and would love to have the beautiful 4449 in every scale so I could have a multi-scale layout to increase the perspective of a train slowly moving farther and farther away trading out duplicate trains in smaller scales

But to see different locomotives learn the differences about them and why you people purchase which locomotives I think it's awesome a suggestion maybe you could do a live stream all you guys together or something would be really cool to pick out your 10 best each of you and talk about why when and how you got them that'd be something cool believe me I'm not a director by all means very interested person yes. Also I could see this layout you're creating now ending up in another magazine for sure you're doing it right you taking your time you're not cutting no corners I like it and it's a beautiful layout on top of it all right enough about my thoughts and ideas but let me know what you think about the Conrail thing I was just sitting here and I thought about it that's all if it's a no-go I would not be offended in any way enjoy your day like I said

Nice collection of NS engines and seeing them all in action, I didn't realize MTH had produced a SD40E! Awesome Thanks!!!
I didn't realize it either! Glad I found one
Nothing boring with what I saw! They all look great!
wow...they just keep coming down the tracks!

Wow,Jason. I guess one can never have enough NW engines in one color scheme. Variety is not the spice of life here but it is the muscle. Enjoy.
Thanks
It's the same for me and the Illinois Central Railroad, by the way I live in Lexington Kentucky
i'm a nut for NS too and ur NS layout is fire 🔥 it woud look sick in a massive power move
It was very nice meeting you at the York Show and the meet up. You have an impressive layout and collection of Norfolk Southern engines.

All those beautiful MTH trains and they are history.
the sd40e being called a sd50 is the result of sd40e's being rebuilds of sd50's, so externally they're nearly identical
