Awesome project. My granddaughter would love it. Heck I love it, I enjoy playing with Legos too.
+Skully Wood & Metal The plural of "Lego" is still Lego not Legos
+Joshua Irvine no its lego bricks/mini figs
There's no such word as "Legos", there's only "Lego".
lol i was thinking of commenting it's "lego" btw then i noticed several people beat me to it lol
Great design, Bob. I like that having the floor-level shelf guarantees you won't lose any lego under the table when they fall on the floor.
+Ben Brandt Exactly! I forgot to point that out in the voice over.. oops. Thanks Ben!
Nice job Bob. Your kids are fortunate to have such a great involved dad. I know I would have loved that when I was a kid.
You like to make stuff, i like to watch your stuff
I watched your video with my 4.5 year old son and I thought you would like to hear his comments. While he did think the table was cool the stand out points for him were. 1) he really digs your intro music. He had me rewind it at least 5 times before we could even get to the build and 2 more times after we finished watching the entire thing. He also made note of your "COOL" Star-Wars R2D2 coffee cup that made an appearance right after the 4 minute mark. Thank you for including so much of who you are in every project.
+Jeremy Bearth That's awesome Jeremy!
I Like To Make Stuff Is there a way to but the same table? Because I want to buy one for my son
Jeremy Bearth i
SINISTER 7 Find a person near you who has the skills to build it, then give them the plan and ask how much it would cost.
DAD GOALS. YOU DESERVE SO MUCH MORE SUBS
I let out a giant sigh of relief when you spaced out the baseplates with the bricks. thats an awesome table.
I'm part of a Lego User Group (LUG), I was just telling another member all about your Chanel and the making it podcast...and low and behold you post a Lego video!! Great timing and an amazing project!! I'm going to share this video with the group, they will love it!
Using the speed square to reference off of is a great tip for cutting miters. Man miter cuts always suck this will help a lot. Thanks for making this video.
+Dan The Maker Man Glad it was helpful!
Games are life you don't have enough money for the materials, but want to buy a finished product? I don't think you understand how this works.
@@mimked I think he meant he can't afford to buy the required tools
This is too cool. Loving seeing it after hearing about it on the podcast.
Looks like a ton of fun! I really liked how you held the Lego pads together with actual Legos! ha ha. I think my kids would love this. I built a big bin for my son's Legos, but it is low and it would be nice to have it where they could stand at it.
Your systematic approach to making videos makes this look so easy.
I'm really glad you included the bit about spacing the lego platforms using a brick. That's great attention to detail for how the table will be actually used, something adults frequently overlook. Nice build!
Lego search potential: master level. This is like a dream LEGO box. Growing up I had two massive LEGO boxes under my bed but they weren't covered boxes so they pretty much required a bed to slide under.
The fact that a lego block was used to make this table just increases the awesomeness to over 5000!
That's a great design Bob! The soft close slides were a good choice. Well done!
The table came out great, Bob! Your kids will have many great memories of their cool Dad making them awesome stuff!
Cool! That taper jig was pretty slick too
Pete
Love the build. A table like that would be great for any children activity and it would be perfect to keep a room clean by just having a couple of tables like this in their room or play area.
Thanks for sharing
Every kid needs a lego table! sweet project!
dude! awesome!! your kids must love this!! great project!
Very great project again Bob! I was excited since you mentioned it in the podcast!
My son was telling me just yesterday that he wanted me to make a Lego table that could open up in the middle and have lego stored underneath. Great build! Keep up the great videos, Bob!
+Scott F (BCThunder) Smart kid! ;) Thanks!
bandsawing legos? HERESY! as a Lego fan your table is awesome. I wish I would've had it as a kid. I bet I had just as many legos as your kids do. great build!
Thumbs up for being a rad dad. I want to make cool stuff for my kids when I'm a dad.
Very nice build!
Also A+ on editing of the video!!
This build was very entertaining to watch!
+Matthew Braun Thank you!!
Really nice design Bob. Came out great.
Nice, I bet the kids are gonna love it and you won't have to chase them around to clean up after playing!
Very nice table, I know your kids love it.
Around the shop we use the 77 as a temporary adhesive and because of our environment controls it has a short open time. Love the project I can see this also being used as a coffee table or even a craft table. Oh the possibilities.
Truly awesome and amazing. Well done. Give yourself a pat on the back.
Excellent design, Bob!
Nice speed square trick for measuring miters. Thanks for sharing.
you're a true craftsman I'm impressed with you're work!
This is awesome Bob! Great Job!
Back in my day, we used the floor to play with LEGO :D
The table design is pretty cool, good job :)
+Many_pixel hahah :) Yeah, my Mom made me a big blanket with a drawstring so I could clean up easily. It was pretty awesome actually.
Nice build. The kids seem to have given their approval.
Awesome video. Even when I'm not planning on building what you make in your videos, I love picking up general building tips to apply elsewhere. Thanks for another fun upload!
That is really cool!! I would have loved to have that when I was a kid. Actually I wish I had one now ;)
Anyone would
Really useful and it came out great!
+Darbin Orvar Thanks Linn!
That was a masterful job! Super well done!!
Hey Bob !! Cool project, I enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing. regards, Steve.
Looking good, Bob! Looks like a lot of fun.
Great build! I love the split top storage access. I call that a coolness factor. -Dave
Magnets on the sides (burried)to keep it steady when it is closed, and also magnets somewhere inside to hold it in place when it is open.
Great stuff! Great dad!:)
this channel is so awesome i could never ever make cool stuff like this but its so interesting to watch!
One of the coolest projects so far
Hi there, what a fantastic idea!!! I'm going to have to build one of these for my children.......they would love it!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
COOL! Great Idea! This might be my favorite thing you've made to date. Something like this would definitely fill a need in my house =) Thanks for the video!
I don't have children or, therefore, grandchildren but this is a great idea. I'm building one for my wife who likes to do jewelry crafts and this givers her tons of storage in the bottom and plenty of space for current projects in the top. Plus, I can leave it the family room and it "hides" all the "junk". Think I may upgrade the visible wood to make it a little more in tune with our decor. Basic construction the same but veneer to upgrade the look and possibly solid hardwood legs. Will also add a power strip and a gooseneck light for the fine detail work. Mine will have a cork top versus the Lego sheets but I'm considering seeing if there are Lego pieces that can be used to assist with the jewelry builds. A way of "blocking" pieces in place could be useful. Guess I'll need to get up to speed on Lego pieces now too. Great project that can be adapted for a multitude of toys, games, crafts, etc. Thanks for putting the project on your site.
A great follow-up to this build would be a Lego storage container system. Our family has 12 years worth of Lego collections, most are now in giant tubs. I'd love to see a design for storing all the different components. Wheels and tires go one place, 1x plates are separate from 1x bricks, which are separate from 2x plates and bricks, etc. Great design!
This is a wonderfully executed idea, thank you!
Hey Bob, great project, great video, I like the way you show the process in quick time but the explanation is still there. Another words great editing. I also Ike the way you list all the tools in the disciption. I will look for those corner clamps. Great job.
Hey Bob, amazing table. I am going to start making one, but since our space at home is limited I am planning to make a smaller version. Perhaps one single piece on top that will slide instead of two. Really love your channel, can't have enough of your videos. By the way, I found your channel because of Rob Scallon's shovel guitar video. That dude is a genius and so are you.
+S133S Thanks so much!! Rob is awesome!!
your voice over is very easy to listen and very clear even for a non us-speaking
+iino kinji That's great to hear, thank you!
Best dad ever! man I wish I had this when I was a kid!
Love your simple style of building! Very inspiring!
Your brilliant! I loved playing with legos when I was a kid. kudos to you sir.
Cool table! I'm sure the kids love it!
I dig it. I'm going to attempt this for my son's christmas present. Thank you for the video!
You are so talented with your woodwork skills and creativity! I envy it! Keep on making videos and doing what you do best!! Much support
Only watched a few videos and I already in love with this channel!
Really cool table!!! I want to show my Dad this -- Logan, a Lego-Lover! :)
Hi Bob. I like to make stuff too. lol. I got an order for one of these tables. Looks like a lot of fun to build. I'll send you pics when its all done. Thanks for adjusting the table top size to accomodate the lego pads. great idea.
Another great video/project Bob!! Thanks!
This is too cool - think I'll make one for my son's 6th birthday. Great video!
hey mr.Bob, I'm not like a big time builder. But your really enjoyable to watch, an I appreciate the way you explain every thing. good job man! Its cool to see you chance your dream. praying for you dude.
+Danny Lyle Thanks Danny! I appreciate that!
I do this Lego build table and my sister play with me.Thanks for doing this video. Please do more!!!
This is beautiful! Believe it or not, I'm a Brick Specialist at a Lego Store. People ask about storage and tables all the time. I'll have to point them in the direction of this video!
Great video Bob! I've been working on some ideas for a Lego table for my daughter, I'm just going to buy your plans instead! Great build!
God I wish I had this as a kid. You must be the most awesome Dad anyone can have. :)
Very cool project. ....and we have also used hello fresh a couple times a week, before this video. There's some great meals!
+Paul Meyette Yes! The sloppy joe's were awesome :)
I like that when the recipe calls for a tablespoon of "x" they give you a tablespoon. No waste. If you went shopping you would have to buy the whole bottle of "x"
simply wonderful
Great vid! and tthat sliding system gave me an idea for a sanding / painting table! Thanks!
Awesome table and very talented.
Great video. Thank you! I built 10 tables over the Christmas break - slightly different design. The bandsaw tip was awesome. Using super 77 spray adhesive on both sides is definitely the way to glue these down. My only beef with the project is the cost of the baseplates -- my tables were about 24"x48" and I used the generic 10x10" plates from amazon so I needed 12 plates per table. In Canada, I was paying over $60 JUST for the baseplates to cover them.
I like how you outfeed underneath the table!! Possibly the best Lego table I've seen Bob!
+Dustin Penner Thanks man!
great project and video. I am seriously thinking about building this for my grandson.
I can't build anything, and I'm not interested by doing so, but I find these videos fascinating and oddly satisfying ! :D
Great project! I'd add maybe some sorting dividers in the top container for easier searching for parts. Great job!
dinosaur VS POTTY!
i think i've read that book about 100000000 times in the past two weeks since we've come home with it from the library. I like vs bedtime better tho.
awesome table, love it. I see this in my near future with my two little dudes
Wow this is amazing your such a wizard
very cool table, think the kids will love it
Excelente!!!, muy buenos los videos. Saludos desde Uruguay!!
I know I won't build it but somehow I found watching these videos make me satisfy.
your skills have come a long way since your first videos (I like them too). great job
That digital angle gauge looks awesome! I need to get one of those.
i really needed something like this as a child :) Great build Bob
Hey Bob,
Another great video. I was thinking about your issue with the wiggle on the sliders, you could try picking up some small rubber rollers (probably for a toy plane or something since you'll need pretty small ones), then milling another slot into the inside of the table halves and putting the rollers below the sliders. That way you can have a constant space between the table and the top halves. The slots will keep the marks left by the rollers mostly concealed and will prevent the rollers from turning in the wrong direction.
This would look amazing painted like it's made from huge legos!
Great project. Love it
I have been making small Lego tables for a few years now. I have found that contact cement works the best. One thing though you have to be careful and have to be patient because you only get one try to get it done correctly.
I really love this project. I wish Ihad something like this when I was a kid. I also like the fact, that there are still kids like yours out there that play with lego instead of tapping on an Iphone screen
Nice Rhett and Link shirt!
Great job Bob !
Your kids must love you
I hope so :)
They sure do :))))
Everything thats cool daddy does and mommy is keeping us from getting out on the roof top:))
Superjainsavestheday hm,mm,
Another great build Bob. An you need to get more lego technic's. You can put strong magnets in the closing joints to help pull 2 half's together
+utkanf Oh.. these are my kids Lego.. MINE are in a different place and FULL of Technic :)
Dude your kids at SOOOOO lucky and these videos inspire me to build stuff but I don't have the right stuff... But I love your vids keep it up👍🏽
15cm and a sixteenth?!!!? What madness is this mixing scales? Great build!!!
Just found a potential order for one of these tables!! Thanks for making it!!
