Love my Pete Anderson Eastsider T
I wish they would sell their bass pickups. I keep my eyes open for someone selling the pickups out of theirs when they upgrade, but nobody upgrades. ;-)
Rick makes the best guitar faces and you boys Rock!!!
Fellow lefty and I picked up the Double Agent OG in Metallic Alpine a couple months ago and I legit haven't picked up my strat since. Just immediately fell in love with everything about it and can't put it down. Always good to see Reverend getting some love. I just wish they offered more lefty options (isn't that always the case?)
I've got at least 3 Reverend guitars on my "someday" list. Gorgeous instruments.
Thanks, Anthony. I hope you are doing well mate! I can't wait to try some lefties at some point in the near future. They are a cool guitar. That last one Ric played with the three pickups is super cool for blues.
The contender reminds me a bit of Chet Atkin's Super Axe, without the effects.
You'd love the Jetstream 390
I have 3 Reverends. I will put their guitars (mine were each around $1000) up against any Les Paul, even custom shops. The attention to detail is insane. Every guitar has perfect frets and binding. Their pickups are great too. By far my favorite guitar maker, and I've owned a lot of guitars. Get one!
Reverends are excellent. Pretty sure they're at the top of the heap in their price point for quality, and certainly for originality.
Dr. Ric on that Contender was phenomenal! You all sound great!
That Contender 🙂 The house band bringing skills... Dr. Rick's fretboard skills, wow. The tones were killer and holy smokes, loved the Tele rhythms you were laying down.
I have to say it, that Reverend Contender RB is just amazing and the sound that it makes is just majestic! Great video, Thumbs up!
Dr playing the Billy Corgan without a big muff..could have been a world exclusive. 😆 And...sounded mighty fine!
Great round-up Shane 👍 🎸
No need for a Muff. Check my channel for the BC1 with Billy’s old Machina amp.
Absolutely love the "Keys to the Guitar Shop" videos. I mean, just Dr. Rick's face as hr's playing make them worth watching! Great band and those Reverend guitars do have their own kind of sound in the mix. Great job, Shane!
What a fun series and some nice Reverend guitars. @rselp having a blast for sure. Thanks Shane!!
You guys are AWESOME as usual. Keeping Blues fresh is a rare talent.
Great video! Just a small correction: the Pete Anderson model has stainless steel "saddles" and not frets. Cheers.
Watching the replay and enjoying your rhythm playing, it's how I would love to be able to hear my own stuff when at jams and not be buried in the mix!
I have the Gristle 90 and the GPS, both are loaded with Fishman Fluence pickups, great guitars and nice and quiet :)
I own a Reverend Double Agent OG and a Contender RB, and I love them both. I'm blown away by the quality of the the workmanship and the materials for the price. Plus they're really versatile tone-wise, especially because of the bass contour control. Fantastic guitars.
Love the Eastsider S, and that Contender jam was awesome! Thanks guys! ✌🏼
Love the big fat grin from the bassist 12:27 !
Superb! Loved the video Shane! I think the Reverends are great and I like the bass contour control a lot. Now I just need to buy one, or two, or three...
Dr. Ric's playing is great but his guitar faces are awesome. Great drummer & bass also. Shane you guy's should go on the road together. Unbelievably good band ! Blues On....💙
I own one of their baritone guitars and love it. Shorter scale compared to most, and with more features (e.g., Wilkinson trem, the contour knob, etc.). Did a review on it a while back too.
Reverend guitars are fantastic. I’ve got a couple of them but my favorite is the BC-1. Such a great instrument and those BC/Naylor railhammers are awesome.
Dr. Ric was giving me some serious Roy Buchanan vibes with that Tele - I think it was the delay. Great tones in this one! 🤙
that jetstream 390! yum!
That last one sounded great. Had some bite.
I wouldn’t want to miss this chat Shane. I love my Reverends.
Keys to the guitar shop are great videos. I love to hear the guitar in the context of a band...Outstanding!!!
Great music and video featuring these Reverend guitars. I'm a new fan especially of the Flatroc that I just picked up last month.
Really nice! I love reverend. My wife has the billy corogan model. I was able to play that Pete Anderson tele some years back and I’ve wanted one ever since
I just recently acquired a reverend double agent og, in lefty, it has become my goto guitar. P90 neck with a humbucker bridge on a hard tail... just sweet sweet sickness. Plays silky smooth. Love it. Very high quality instruments.
Great video as always.
Got an PA Eastsider T Deep Sea Blue, love the neck, chambered body & wouldn't part with it. Took a few months to ship from US to UK but well worth the wait.
Awesome vid - Dr Ric killing it on the Tele style guitar. Neal Young style on the Corgan guitar as well. I've got a Double Agent W lefty Shane its fantastic. The string tree - what a genius idea
Hope you get to try a Greg Koch Gristlemaster 290 soon, that guitar is a beast!
'Keys to the Guitar Shop Band' Kills it once again!! The Reverends look and sounds pretty unique... I'm a fan.
One Day that Contender RB will be Mine!!
Thanks once again, Shane and the Crew.
Love your channel.being watching you for years. Thanks for the Reverend rundown. This brand is quickly becoming one to contend with. Cheers from the great white north.
Beautiful, I could listen to you guys all day. Thank you 🎸
Great guitars and Epic playing ! that Contender Rb song is really touching ! 🤗🤗🤗
Great times and great tones !
I shared this Video in a Reverend guitar owners group
Would love to have a full review of the Eastsider S - looks like a do-it-all F-type guitar.
Great video love this series.
Club King 290 sounded great and looks different than the typical 335 shape for semi-hollows. If my shop gets one in I’ll try it for sure.
Bit sacrilegious to play the Billy Corgan signature without the Op-Amp Pi Fuzz.
Really considering a Club King 290 for myself
Ive got two Club Kings; a 290 and an RT (RevTron Filtertron style pickups), you won’t regret it. Killer guitars.
The Dr. is IN!!! Smokin' Rick's licks
Liked the Jetstream and the Anderson the most. Will go for a Charger with P90 on the neck and a Lollartron on the bridge.
I just got the Reverend Jetstream 390. What a guitar. Thanks for these demos.
I’ve never been high on Reverend Guitars before but this might change my mind!!!! They have a quirky look but they sound great. I don’t plan on owning more guitars than I have fingers and thumbs but who knows??? You four sound amazing and it’s always a pleasure watching and listening to you all play! Cheers!🎸🎸🎸🎸👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for this review Shane. I love Reverend guitars, I have a Rick Vito Signature guitar and it is simply stunning to look at and plays and sounds incredible. They have to be one of the best value brands around.
Rick is really playing well, I especially like the part he played on the Contender
I bought the Charger 290.......man I love that guitar. Those P 90's are awesome. Great video. Cool to hear all the other Reverends I was considering!
I bought one of their Club King 290’s brand new in May 2020 (alpine green metallic) and love it so much that I bought a used 2018 Club King RT (RevTron F’tron style pickups) later in 2020 and my faithful old Strats hardly get a look in now! Such a unique and wonderful guitar, impeccably setup straight out of the box and stays in tune for literally days on end. The 290 is my favourite of the two but I put a TV Jones Classic Plus in a soapbar mount in the bridge position so I’ve got that Filtertron sound in the bridge and the excellent Reverend P90 in the neck position. The stock pickups are great and the Bass Contour Control adds so much sonic versatility it’s like having a few sets of pickups in one guitar. Just class. I plan to add a Reverend Eastsider Baritone too. Great company and hats off for showing off their guitars!
Reverend is SOOO sweet. I'm enjoying my sixth one now🤓👍
Nice to see you again Kevin, I’m not on F’book anymore so don’t see the posts in the Reverend group anymore
@@christophertodd1980cool, I have my Shantel still “Hats & guitars” and a Facebook group of the same name, hope you are well. Just got a 2024 charger HB in periwinkle burst and a Citradelic sunrise Jetstream RB, I’m obsessed w them both. I’m surprised how much I like the Charger HB, it’s not that far away from my Flatrocs
@@quadrogong1111 I’m still rocking my two Club Kings; the orange RT (the semi hollow sister to your Flatrocs) and my metallic alpine 290 which is now fitted with TV Jones Classic (neck position) and Classic Plus (bridge position) in soapbar mounts. Those TV Jones pickups are something else!
Big fan of your videos. Class act. Out of my nine guitars my Reverend W with Railhammer Nuevos is by far my favorite. Play it though Suhr Bella and even my playing sounds great.
They're wonderful guitars. I have a lefty Manta Ray HB and it plays, sounds, and sustains better than many guitars of much higher price. The controls help provide a very unique tone and I regularly find myself trying new things when I play my Manta Ray. The one of these days I'll get myself a Jetstream 390 in Mulberry Mist. One of these days...Great video, Shane!
Just ordered a Jetstream 390 in purple. Very excited to take it for a test run!
It was so nice to hear, that after trying so hard on the first two jams, he finally found the notes he wanted to play on the third.
Great clip Shane. Good to see Reverends getting some air time. I have a couple (Buckshot and Super Rev) great guitars and a bit different without being too freaky.
The second Billy Corgan model (with the single pickup is a Terz ( small scale as if capo 3rd fret) from memory.
I bought the regular BC1 a few years ago, and it's been my go to guitar ever since I picked it up. We play pretty diverse range of covers over 4 hour setlist regularly, and it's the only guitar I bring.
Another great video Shane. I would normally never pay any attention to these if I saw them in the shop.
Own 5 reverends. Airsonic W is one of the coolest guitars I’ve ever played.
I have a Reverend Gil Paris LP copy. Amazing guitar. Dr Ric needs his own channel, he is having blast it seems...
Great Vid and Great Playing Shane and the Boys.
I Really dig My Reverend Unknown Hinson Sig. Guitar with P90s,Roasted Maple neck and Bass Contour control Plays Great and has cool Bat fretboard inlays to top it off. Cheers Mate
Kid Rock used to play a Reverend way back when with a single neck and HB bridge. Wish that was still an option
Dang! Dr. made that Pete Anderson Easrsider sing, by Jiminy! Of course, the Doc could make anything sound stellar. Awesome as always buddy! 👊
Loved the RB Contender, as for Dr Rick he was on fire in this video.
Great guitars and awesome playing!!!! Love the vid!!!!!
I have a King Bolt and I really like it. Thanks for a great video.
Not lookin to buy at this moment but that Tele style Reverend is going on my Wish List. That covers all the bases. Light, Stainless frets, trem, lots of pickup options. Perfect.
Club King 290 owner here! Love it!
I own 3 Reverends, with another on the way. This includes a Jetstream 390, as featured in the video. Wonderful instruments. If I ever go a while without playing one of my Reverends, my jaw tends to drop when I pick it back up again. I'm always surprised by how great they sound, not because I don't expect it, but just because they're THAT good. I'm not sure I can say that about any of my other guitars, some of which are much pricier than the Reverends.
Love the 390
Now what to sell to buy it?
The was worth it just to watch Dr. Ricks facial expressions. LOL
I have a Reverend Charger 290, its well made, looks good sounds good, and is very affordable, Reverend is a great company
Excellent video and review.
Nice work Shane and team, not sure if anyone has already said this but would have been nice to get Dr. Ric's opinions on each guitar at the end?
Ive owned the reverend Manta Ray and east sided for a few years and I haven’t found anything I like more. They feel and sound great. My favorite part about them though is how well they stay in tune compared to other guitars in their price range.
Awesome guitars. I saw one today , the jet stream. Didn’t have time to play it much but going back tomorrow. Very interesting guitars. They impressed me. The roasted neck etc. awesome playing on the video guys.
I went back and got it. It’s a monster of a guitar.
I own 2 Reverends a "Round house" and a "Jetstream 390" my two favorite guitars
Which is the preferred model and why?
@@johndesrosier1672 for me it depends on my mood when i go to play they both are incredible
Really keen to try a Rev especially with P90's.
The piece Dr Rick played on the Contender was beautiful. Would appreciate some kind of lesson on the style he used, though I know you don't really do those! (I'm one of the people who finds a large middle pickup gets in the way, incidentally.)
Keys to the Guitar Shop is a danged good show!!
Might just pick one up. You pushed me over the edge, lol
Love my Rev Double Agent and Contender! That Pete Anderson Tele looks amazing !!!
They're the ones I have. :)
@@musicken33 you have the same ones I do?
@@lincolnjohnson6511 Yeah, wasn't quite clear. I have Double Agent OG in coffee burst and a gold Contender RB. They're so good!
@@musicken33 Cool! I’ve got the Double Agent with the Wilkinson Trem in Vintage Natural and the Contender in Black! I really want another one!
@@lincolnjohnson6511 They do tend to infect you with G.A.S.! Both of mine were gifts, the DA from my wife and the Contender from a friend. I'm spoiled....
Managed to get a Jetstream 390 in Salmon (same as what Dr Rick was playing). Being left handed handed had to import from UK. Great value for money and quality control is fantastic (they do there own quality check and set up before they put it on shelves). Still has that retro vibe with many modern appointments (really appreciate lock in tuners which come as standard on all there guitars). Would recommend for anyone who wants something different away from Fender/Gibson. They do not disappoint.
Came for the review, stayed for the playing. Great rhythm section!
These guitars sound so light, airy, happy. Really digging the sound. Can’t explain why.
Well Billy Corgan said in an interview back in the 90s SP were bigger than the Stones, Rock N Roll was dead and they were having god like status. - 2 hits later they were gone. Stones still gigging.
You seem very confused. They put out albums in 2012, 2014, 2018, and less than a year ago in 2020. They also toured in support of each of them except the one last year. For obvious reasons. Stones have been gigging and literally nothing else for decades. The only reason they got back together in the first place was not to make more great music, but to keep cashing in on what they already had made.
@@parxtheproducer7528 just referring to an interview in which Corgan claimed how great they were. - After their 90s hits nothing worth to listen to no commercial hit/tour in comparison.
To me no criteria for good music but if Corgan claimed to be bigger than the Stones he should be measured due to his comment.
Love Reverend guitars! I'd happily take any of those, once I win the lottery :X
The Club King 290 sounds amazing, the Doc nailed those licks - and the ever-present Guitar Face!
Ric sounded like he was channeling James Burton with that Tele. Great stuff all round, especially the harmonised twin leads!!
Plays like James Burton hair like Elvis🤪🤪🤪What more could we ask for! Love ya Doc!
@@kirkscobey3031 He's the TCB King all-in-one package!
I wish Reverend would make all their body styles, (especially the T-style for me), with the 3 P-90's like the jetstream guitars. Those pickups are my favorite and most versatile
Kyle Shutt from The Sword and Unknown Hinson use Reverend and have a sig series. Great bands! Hinsons "tele" style is rawkin!!!!
They discontinued and dropped Hinson from their partnership due to his comments about Dolly Parton.
@@UNEAKinfluence Wow. Did not know that.
Shane, I've been following your reviews for years. This is probably THE BEST video to date. Great group of musicians from Kiwi ! Keep up the great videos, and for God's Sake just flip your guitar with a mirror !!!
Reverend guitars are great. I have three and each one has its own personality. They play great, well built, with a good feature set. Reverend pickups are excellent too. The Reverend price points have increased over the years (they were a great bargain 8-10 years ago), but are still competitive and a good bargain. Highly recommended line of guitars that, imo, are fully competitive with other brands costing more.
I am up to three Reverends at this point (Eastsider S, Crosscut W, & Jetstream RB), and at this point they fulfill my needs in live situations. They stay in tune better than any other guitar I have without a nut lock. Recording wise, I would be using them 80% of the time, and really only using a Gretsch or a Tele with a three saddle bridge when it is called for. My band is doing Retro Style Original Music (1950s/1960s) and the Reverends work great for that.
Hey Shane, dig your channel. Being a Tele player I wonder when you are going to review the Reverend Greg Koch Gristlemaster? Would love to hear your take on it. Keep up the great work Mate!
Some cool looking guitars. Dr R makes anything sound good.
One of the prettiest guitars I’ve ever seen was a Reverend! It was a crystal light blue on a beautiful quilted maple. It looked like ocean waves, and it was a lefty. I waited too long, and somebody snapped it up. I’ve regretted it ever since. Someday, I’m gonna see that guitar again.
Holy smokes, Rick can play! Would love any of the Reverends with P90s. But jeez, Rick can flat out play.
Have an east sider with Wilson trem. Stays in tune and sounds great. Easily contends and exceeds any $2,500 guitar for half the price.
LOve the Docs playing man,......and Shanes too!!!
I'd love a Gristletone 90
Their double agent OG interest me the most. P90 and humbucker seems like the best combo but maybe there is a reason the big two don’t do it
I have a DAOG, and it's really versatile because of the pickup combination. And the bass contour gives you that much more versatility of tone.
Went to a guitar store intent on buying a G&L Doheny. Didn't like it. Tried nearly every electric guitar in the store, walked out with a used Reverend 390. It was my ears that decided. I also love the quality and how easily it played. The bass contour is a great feature. It's my No. 2 guitar.
Great guitars, really want the 390, I tried one about 3 years ago and its been on my mind since but I can't find one in my preferred colour (orange) as they discontinued it. Scouring the used ads for one to come up.
