I'm from Germany. I neither think they sing "Heilig ist mein Vaterland nicht mehr" nor "Heilig ist mein Schattenland nicht mehr". I think they sing "Heilig ist mein Vater, der mich liebt" which means in English "Holy is my father/god who loves me" And I think they don't sing "Sterben Feine durch meinen Arm" but "Sterben Freunde auf meinem Arm" (which means "Friends die in my arms")
pieza musical con mucha fuerza, imponente y vital. gracias a quien la haya subido. soy profesora de matemáticas y esta canción envía una energía muy profundo en mi ser. que estén bien todos.
I love the line 'Helig ist mein Faderland nicht mehr' but I don't think that translates as 'Holy is only my country' - I think it's 'Holy is my fatherland no more' (or no longer) - kind of the opposite. My German is kind of rusty and I'm not sure how much to trust Google Translate though lol
Yes this is exactly what it is. I learnt German for six years, it was a long time ago but I still remember a few things. "Holy is only my country" would be "Heilig ist nur mein Vaterland" or sth. But here it is "My country/fatherland is not holy anymore" (not holy for me, or just in general).
@@mathes0618 I wish I could ask the artists haha - the literal translation to English would be 'Holy is my Fatherland no more' which means the Fatherland is not holy. But in the context - the lyrics are clearly about a call to a holy war to a 'foreign land' indicating that they are 'sent' from the Fatherland - so in the context of the lyrics, it makes more sense to believe that this is about a holy war; soldiers sent from their Holy Fatherland on a crusade against their unholy neighbours
@Noxengel I saw your video, it's great! The pictures are a nice touch. Ah, I tried to leave the translation as close to the original german as possible, so it might not be correct- thanks for pointing that out, I'll mention it in my info. box.

This song reminds me of a story. An inquisitor putting down his sword and walking away from his latest capture. Realizing that in all of this, he had become the monster, those that had preached to him and turned him on this path had lost their minds. That this walk was his last as he had become what he sought out to defend his homeland from - evil.
@TheChosenoftheGods That's fine, I know sometimes one or two words can be vital in explaining the song. Thank you for your input, and if I ever remake this video I will be sure to include the changes :)
You can't tell unless official lyrics are released. I don't know if E Nomine did release official lyrics, but just from hearing it, it could be "Heilig ist mein Vaterland nicht mehr" what would mean "My fatherland is no longer holy" or "Heilig ist mein Vaterland, nicht mehr" what would mean "My fatherland is holy, nothing else". From actual German grammar "My fatherland is no longer holy" would be "Mein Vaterland ist nicht mehr heilig", so I guess it is "My fatherland is holy, nothing else"
they put "nicht mehr" at the end of the sentence, only to put emphasis that the holy war was not holy, and it was unfair. The song is clearly against the pope
If the song states : Heilig ist Mein vaterland "," nicht Mehr... You would be right. But the lyrics are : Heilig ist Mein vaterland nicht Mehr. Which translates as My fatherland is no longer holy!
Um, more? As in more songs? I love the band, but I think most of the other song lyrics are available already :) I might make a new vid. once I've finished some of the amvs I've started. Depends ;).
Hi. :) I have a German-Spanish translation. But, in a part, we are not translated same. "Heilig ist mein Vaterland nicht Mehr" I translated this way: "Holy is not more my Fatherland [or country]" In spanish is: "Sagrada no es más mi patría" I don´t know what do you think about it. Check it out and you notice me, yes? Greetings. (:
@SwinlishKaiser I'm german but I can't really understand what he's sayin' But "Vaterland" would make no sense, so "Schattenland" fits better with the lyrics. Nice vid, thanks btw^^
I think you misunderstood the phrase "Heilig ist mein Vaterland nicht mehr" because you missed the missing of "nicht mehr" in your translation. It means "no long", so "holy is my country no more" would be more in the spirit, especially it aligns better with the rest of the text, that nothing is holy anymore directly in front of that part.
@SwinlishKaiser O.o You're right, it kinda does sound like that... (although, in all fairness, I have a hearing loss and don't speak German :). I rather like those lyrics better; the sites I used mostly had Vaterland, but who knows? Great catch! :)

Great job! but you have one mistake;) It calls: Heilig! Tobt die Schlacht im Meer aus Blut! and not: Heilig, ruf nach dem Meer aus Blut! Greetings from Germany:D
Turning around once, he picked up his sword realizing his work was not done. Instead of seeking those he hunted, he turned to those who had set him on this path. In the end it was the one he had first walked away from that killed him. A tear flowed down his cheek, with his spoke "justice is done." Good story, though i think i butchered it.
@QueenCheetah i dont know if anybody said it before but heilig ist mein vaterland nicht mehr means my homeland isnt holy anymore ;) im german i know it :D

The band ('E Nomine') called their music 'Monumental Dance', and is based on a combination of modern electronics and Gregorian chanting. The languages are German (where the band was started) and Latin (because it sounds epic, lol?). And I'm glad you like!
The translation is not perfect or at some point incorrect. Even the german subtitles are not 100% correct. Hard to answer your question, if i don't have the song you compare to. Also in this song is latin (neo, deus, fatum).
It isn't in E Nomine's version, it is in Schlafens Bruder's version. You can clearly understand "Roter Regen auf die Welt" as a German. The sentence "Roter Regen auf mich fällt" doesn't make sense, you would have to add an adverb in front of the sentence or say "Roter Regen fällt auf mich"
you fail to translate ^^ i really like the song ..i got another version but dito ah it means Helig ist DER Geist der in mir fließt >holy is the spirit, which flows in me ( its at 0:27 )
