Why do these things need a bicycle wheel sensor when they are already GPS? It would blow a hole in the market if you could use this on anything, anywhere.

GPS accuracy is topography dependent. That does apply to any GPS receiver. Sensor is of course way more accurate

The backlight is not always on. It depends on GPS position and solar calendar (?). It's on since around 1 hour after civil dawn, yet I don't when it goes off. And it works like that since at least firmware 1.20.
As for overall, the M1 works fine for me, but I haven't found a way to reset odometer without resetting the device.

    Love your content,
I started riding again in August 2020, after not riding for ~10yrs (Broken frame - Rear spoke dragged the derailleur into the wheel, ripped it right off the frame with 15 km walk) inclusive of a back and hip injury, so pretty much starting from scratch again.
I went with the Bryton Rider 15 series, unit itself is ~$90-110 AUD, sensor bundle is another $40-50 AUD. It does pretty much everything this unit does, the function output on display pages are editable to a degree (Positions are fixed in regards to where they can be displayed) Text is quite visible and it syncs fairly quickly with sensors (ANT + BT)
Paired with a cheap ~$80 AUD phone to allow for GPS Connectivity it is more than good enough for what I desire, which is speed (km/h, average) distance and cadence, Altitude gain, gradient output, etc is a pure bonus for me.
Only minor issues for me, update on data display is slower than what I would like though guessing the same for every unit that is wireless out there as well as the speed sensor icon on display constantly flickering as if it is trying to pair (Does not stop functionality of unit or sensor) lastly like all other units I guess sometimes minor screen glare/reflection at poor angles.

Probably good for people are beginners and use strava phone app to record their rides. It will save them their phone battery and they will be able to see enough data up front for an average rider. But yea, I would suggest most people to just put that $80 towards a $400 wahoo.

Thanks! Always look forward to your content! My wife wouldn't use 95% of a Garmin's capability but her simple Cateye has no capability. Do you know if you can manually enter an odometer reading when setting it up? Speed, mileages and HR are all she'd probably use. Stay safe and healthy!

You can fit to $80 with speed(from wheel), cadence(I think that's what you mean odometer) and heart rate sensors in Ali with this. It shows it on side.

I have one. Cheap Chinese device. Firmware and XOSS application are mediocre. The accuracy of the GPS positioning is not happy. One question, how to synchronize the clock with a smartphone? Currently, тhe clock in my M1 is inaccurate by a few minutes. How to adjust it with the XOSS application?

I may have a defective unit. I just did a 36-mile ride and the M1 reads under 32-miles. Yes, I wait for the GPS to find satellites before starting. Also the temperature reads 5°F higher than ambient air temperature.

Same to me. Did a ride of about 22 km, and the M1 marked 6 km. Gonna try interchanging the cadence and speed sensor and try again. Hope this works. I own a 29in wheeler, so I wrote 0740 in the C3 option (is it wrong?)

and also many other features like: speed by GPS, power by GPS+HR+weight etc. You can add as many faces you want and play arround with the fields (it's 7 fields), but there are limitations per page too. Don't forget: c406 also has a Signal warning that you can put for HR threshold and Power threshold, very useful for HR :)))

I have a question sir... If, in case, i connect the speed sensor to the M1, it won't calculate the speed from GPS right?... Then my question is when i finish the ride, does the M1 record the position and will it plot the route line that just finished??
Anyone is welcome to answer here.
I once read from online someone said when his M1 paired with speed sensor but detached the magnet from the wheel, then the speed on M1 keep showing 0. So he could not record any session because the Time was frozen at 00:01 though he's moving (and GPS is connected all the time).

  • @888899999888
    @888899999888 3 роки тому +1

It costs 33€(bit over $40) in AliExpress, not $80. It is also very wrong review. The unit is not to be used without sensors - without sensors it's just useless piece of trash(you can buy GPS smartwatch and put on your bike handlebars). The main drawback is the download speed from the unit to phone - like if you can just leave it there and paste data it's ok, but 5hour rides took me 15-20minuted to upload. I rode all kind of weather and I don't frankly know what reflections the reviewer is talking about - it's perfect: led turns on on day, turns off at night to support you with visibility. The battery time is around 40hours(was able to survive full 7 days of bike packing with it) edit: however maybe the reviewer got different version of it, because I own two and one got tad bit different labelling on it
