I have never seen anything like this. My brain isn’t processing the “torn” looking edges on her poor cheeks. It looks like liquid latex pulled off. That must’ve been insane to her to go thru. She’s so beautiful regardless- but that still is horrible to go through 😢

And this pisses me off because many tiktokers will put latex on their face and will start to peel it off in front of their boyfriend as a prank but we have girls like her who actually suffers from such skin condition.

I also have pyoderma gangrenosum! Mine began on one inner calf, but spread to both legs, one foot, my breasts and one eyebrow. In my case, it was triggered by Crohn's disease. I don't think the patient or doctor mentioned it in this video, but PG is one of the most painful skin disorders in the world.
I was extremely lucky that an online friend recognized pictures of my lesions as being very similar to her husband's PG, and I got referred to specific doctors who were able to help (I've been on Humira for 2 years). I hope this young woman has continued healing both physically and emotionally.

    • @D_Ella1269

Yup, mine started on a toe, then popped up all over my lower legs, with a few spots on my thighs as well. I have Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), which is an autoinflammatory skin disease, so that's why the PG started I suppose. Pain on pain on pain 24/7. Ridiculous.

i hate this type of downplaying. just because someone may have it worse doesn’t mean you should invalidate others in what they’re going through. it makes it harder for people to admit that they should seek help for whatever they’re going through. if people are being told someone has it worse than them then it keeps this self denial and they’ll continue to suffer in silence. so this is honest a terrible thing to say to anyone.

    • @suavesweett

      Same with me.
      But i found the key.
How you live is affecting those deseases more then any medication.
What you eat, drink, how you exersize ,a lot of deseses makes you fatigue,so exersize isnt being used. Thats a BAD circle! Same is with pain. Pain isnt dangerous when it comes to autoimmun desease. You GOT to do exersize,so it doesnt get worse.
But people often choose the opposit. Not moving, eat bad , drink even worse , and using to much pain medication.
We makes ourself to be bigger victims, tbh.
How we choose to handle the medical issues, means everything.
And thats also the hardest part. I would like to just be treated, and go on with life. But thats not the solution
I have to do my part, thats the most important in the treatments.

This is how I deal with my anxiety with regards to medications, but I also work closely with my doctors to deal with all these issues. Most of my doctors are great and listen well to what I have to say. It’s really important to find doctors you trust and can talk to without fear of being judged.
But it does take a toll on you mentally, having many serious health issues. I’ve had issues with depression, anxiety and disordered eating since I was a teen. I’m doing better now mentally, but it was really bad at one point.

That is beyond horrible and painful. I'm blown away that she endured that much pain with no meds at all. Never seen nothing that terrible like her face is literally falling off. For her to maintain a stable mindset is incredible.
Did anyone else see what looked like lashes on the right side of her cheek at the edge of the skin and scar? What was that? It was there for a bit then gone.

Dr Emma you are amazing. My mum had a condition nobody knew what it was. A lady came to see you, and it was the same as my mums. The sad new was she had passed away. I wanted to tell her, because her GP told her she was doing it to herself. I love your show ❤

As a kid when I would feel sorry for myself, my mother would say “a person felt sorry because they didn’t have any shoes till they met a person without any feet.” I’m now 68 and that has left a lasting impression on me. Yes, there will always be someone with a worse life so deal with it.

I'm used to seeing all kinds of wounds and stuff from medical videos, but seeing this huge open ulcer on this poor girl's face was still a shock. Good god the pain she must have been in, it's heartbreaking. It's so good to see that the treatment has been working!
