So, it's 1958, you want to build an F1 car. Do you stick with the engine in the front like Enzo prefers, or head the Cooper way of slinging it out back?
Funny you picked 1958 as the year. We made a mod for a game called rFactor of some of the cars that competed in the 1958 Formula One Season. But answering that question is so hard for me. The front-engined cars do look gorgeous, but the mid-engined ones certainly weren't far behind in the looks department, and were really effective.
Up to 2.5 litres naturally aspirated. And probably the reason why you say they sound small is partly because of the recording, with race commentary overlaid, and partly because the frontrunners (apart from the BRM in 6th place) had Coventry Climax FPF engines, sometimes of varying capacity (most had the full 2.5 litres, but some probably only had 2.2 or even 2 litres)
So, we take some old looking (sounding, smelling etc) go-karts, make them reasonably hard to drive, whilst still being safe, and call it old school F1, everyone loves retro (?) #FakeNews
Someone should make replicas of 50s F1 and host a championship! I enjoy F1 now but I want to see four wheel sliding and hay bales...
Anyone agree?
There's championships for the real cars! Check out Masters Historics.

Mid-engined.

#49 Lotus is beautiful.
Aerodynamics kill.
Yes they kill racing, but not performance I agree
@@oftengone :D
The F1 Scarab was a 'no-show' this year ? Sad.
Magnificent 😎🤗
I would like to see how an aerial atom would fair against these classics.
On cross-plys to make it fair.
What is the engine displacement of these F1's? They sound very small.

Am i hearing this right? The driver is named "Wheel or Will Nut?" haha that gotta be one of the better racing names with Scott Speed and Will Power!
His name is William (Will) Nuthall.
Will Nuthall.
Why only the front of the grid ?
Are the other cars not worthy to be seen ?
'aerodynamic appendages'
