The Tombow Mono Zero eraser that you have (the rectangular end) also comes in a very fine, round version that is about 2.3mm. So, it's good for doing single hairs with and very tiny highlights. Typically, these are used by illustrators and comic artists. They do not take a lot of punishment, but I guess that's because they're for fine work. Also, there are erasers in a pencil form, that you can sharpen, and they are good, too; Uni, Koh-i-noor and Faber Castell all do one.
I find the small Tombow (even smaller than the one you show - the Mono Zero) to be exceptional for very fine lifting and highlighting. The tip os circular so I cut it at an angle with a blade to get an incredibly fine tip.
The graphite putty needs to be kept in an airtight container (or sealed well in plastic) to keep from drying out. I believe you can add the moisture back in to make it usable again. I think it is best used with a brush. It gets incredibly dark this way.
I use my trusty No. 1098 Koh-I-Noor pencil extender daily for short stubby color pencils that I can no longer purchase in my region. Should get a second one at some point.
I saw a Faber Castell 14B on amazon. I'm trying to imagine what that would feel like. Maybe like the really high quality soft pastels that feel like putting frosting onto paper?

Agree. I cut the tip at an angle to get a razor sharp tip. It also removes all the graphite on the tip stopping contamination.
Great video with inspiring art! Thank you!

that crystal clear fixative can change the color of some inks, but found it to be consistent with graphite and acrylics. great explainer Prof
I miss graphite, this makes me wanna use it again. I've been obsessed with color and painting for a while
I want to go out and get all of these supplies right now EXCEPT for the graphite putty 😆

I have a 14B pencil 😎
Which is what brand?
Faber-Castell just came out with them. I assume you have this ? How soft is it and does it crumble ?
@@neuroticnation144 Faber -Castell Pitt Graphite Matt. Very dark
@@GodzillaGoesGaga At 14B it is soft, I have only broke one once. really nice for that edge of a shadow against a mid tone.
Mars Lumigraph carries a 12B. I have some darker, but they are Matte Pencils, so not just graphite.
I use hairspray in my sketchbook to prevent smudging onto the next page.
P.S. Faber Castell do up to a 14B !!! They are called Faber Castell Pitt Graphite Matt.
Hairspray not archival? Phew, I had some aquanet from the 80’s i just decluttered lol
I have most of these, but seem to use my 2B. Guess I need to push my comfort zone.
